Spectre Uhhh, I dunno. This is the only Bond film I've ever seen and I guess [sp]there's things from previous movies I maybe needed to know about. It's not that I didn't expect that to happen, but I was told the opposite. The opening credits sequence was kind of drawn out, I guess. I get the feeling that this is a Bond tradition like the opening crawl from Star Wars, so I'll let it pass, but I honestly wasn't too into being taken out of the movie to basically watch an entire music video. The gratuitous tentacle porn imagery was... interesting, I guess. Anyway, what I want to know is if James Bond is a borderline sexual predator in every movie. I was rather put off by the aggressiveness of his advances. It may have all checked out on Hollywood's definition of consensual, but I'm honestly not convinced that he doesn't have some kind of creepy mind control device that made its first appearance in an earlier film that I haven't seen.[/sp] My feelings on it overall are really just, eeehhhhhh... But I feel like maybe I would have liked it a little more if I had prior experience with the series, so I want to be cautious in my judgment, I guess.
Spectre Yeah, it has its faults, but I liked it. Craig was good, Seadoux was good, Waltz and Bautista were good, etc. The plot was a bit messy, but I did admire the sort of mysteriousness they were going for. Also, I liked all the small nods to the other films. [sp]I got vibes from Dr. No at the desert facility, Bautista was really like Jaws, just with pointy nails instead of teeth, On Her Majesty's Secret Service for the stuff in Austria, Blofeld and his cat (although really, who didn't see that coming?)[/sp] Overall, I'd say this is Craig's second worst Bond movie, but that being said, I didn't find it bad. A little disappointing on some fronts, mostly plot stuff, but likeable. Also [sp]if this is Daniel Craig's send off picture, I'd be totally fine with that. The loose ends are tied off and he has a sense of closure in the role.[/sp]
As a former serious James Bond fan, it kinda saddens me to see that Spectre is as average as it is. I have to ask though, despite it being probably asked several times, what are your favorite James Bond films? I think mine is The Living Daylights, but I can't say why exactly right now.
On Her Majesty Secret Service and You Only Live Twice fucking fight me mates (Casino Royale gets special mention for being one of the best reboots of any film series and having both Mads and Eva).

You were just unfortunate to have Sam Smith sounding like [sp]he always does[/sp], a whiny bitch who stubbed his toe and nobodies there to kiss it better. And Spectre and Skyfall have had Bond be a little...rapier than he normally is.
Enemy I honestly don't know what to think about this movie. It's super bizarre and somewhat artsy. I watched/read a bunch of analysis on the movie and I think I understand the significance of all the spiders but it still didn't feel that great to me.

My personal favorite Bond movie is The Man With The Golden Gun. It was the first one I ever saw, and I just love it.
My personal favorite Bond movie is The Man With The Golden Gun. It was the first one I ever saw, and I just love it.
That's funny, most people consider it as the worst Bond film ever. To be honest, I think that the fantastic car stunt being ruined with a terrible sound effect justifies it partially. Also all the gimmicks and plot holes. [editline]7th November 2015[/editline]
On Her Majesty Secret Service and You Only Live Twice fucking fight me mates (Casino Royale gets special mention for being one of the best reboots of any film series and having both Mads and Eva).
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is underrated in my opinion. And so is Diamonds Are Forever, it's quite a nice Bond film. [editline]7th November 2015[/editline]
i think goldeneye only gets the praise it does because of the game i enjoy the movie and it has memorable moments but i think it's rather on the average side of bond flicks i'd probably have to say goldfinger or casino royale is my top. really any connery bond film is top 5 for me.
I don't know, GoldenEye has to be my favourite Bond Brosnan film. I just love everything about it, except the soundtrack which is really out of place except during that tank chase scene.
Just watched Spectre, and honestly this was a one huge letdown. Skyfall was great, and i was really looking forward to the next film, expecting it to at least keep it on the same level, but the movie turned out to be just so mediocre in every way possible. The screenplay is utter and completely meaningless crap without any logic behind it, the action is too rare and not really impressing most of the time, and I was expecting so much more from such a great cast (Craig is great as Bond, and I really like Christoph Waltz as an actor). All in all, of course it's just my opinion, but Spectre is probably the worst part since the reboot.
Trollhunter - A pretty fun film, but I thought the [sp]Christian blood stuff detracted from the concept of them just being predators and not much supernatural.[/sp]
The Brother from Another Planet - Fun film, manages to characterize the protagonist without any actual speaking by him. Interesting approach to scifi.
Just saw SPECTRE. Enjoyed it a lot more than Skyfall, Christoph Waltz as the villain was great. 9/10
Just saw SPECTRE. Enjoyed it a lot more than Skyfall, Christoph Waltz as the villain was great. 9/10
Spectre. It has stunts, cars, explosions, guns, girls and a fantastic villain callback to the classic movies. I would honestly agree, solid 7 out of 10. Recommended for just about anyone willing to lay back and have a good old fashioned Jimmy Bond
SPECTRE gets a 9/10. It brings back even more classic stuff (something the franchise has been doing since Skyfall) without losing the style of the modern movies. [sp]Seriously, we got a modern version of Blofeld in a secret volcano base torturing James Bond. That is kickass.[/sp] Waltz is, as always, amazing. His introductory scene had me all riled up. And the man knows how to use silence as a way to enhance his acting. Also, Bautista. He was great! Good to see the return of the Bond henchman. Drags a little in the middle and some characters don't get enough moments (Moneypenny, man!) but the combo of Craig, Seydoux, Waltz, Bautista, fun stunts and action scenes makes it greaaaat. By the way, anybody hoped Bond would start skiing? That's all he needed to go full classic Bond. Although we did get a mention that he knows how to ski.
Speaking of Bautista [sp]did anyone else find his only line to be very weird? He says "shoot," but it seems like it was dubbed in horribly, as if "shit" was too intense.[/sp] Did anybody else notice that?

It's pretty obvious, and it works great as a joke, what with that being his only line in the movie.[/sp]
Really? I could've sworn it was dubbed in.
Also the [sp]Blofeld[/sp] makeup was very well done.

Primer - Although confusing, the film managed to provide a rather realistic and grounded portrayal of a possible discovery of time travel, which is impressive to do for such a far concept from our current grasps of reality and science. Interesting atmosphere provided in the film.
By the way Scout's Guide for the Apocalypse is 1/10. It's an awful movie. Don't watch it.
By the way Scout's Guide for the Apocalypse is 1/10. It's an awful movie. Don't watch it.
Exactly what I expected. Has anyone seen Cooties? It looked like it might be halfway decent from what I've seen of the trailers, just wondering what Facepunches opinion might be.
By the way Scout's Guide for the Apocalypse is 1/10. It's an awful movie. Don't watch it.
trailers made that obvious enough
Spectre - 6/10 I wasn't listening to you guys about how it was mediocre because I love all of Craig's Bonds besides QoS, but yeah this was pretty disappointing. Disregarding the plot, even the action was really boring for the most part, with the exception of [sp]the fight with Bautista on the train[/sp]. The escape from [sp]Christoph Waltz's headquarters[/sp] was particularly terrible. So the watch blows up the torture device, Craig and Seydoux immediately appear outside next shot, Craig stands out in the open and shoots some guys without moving an inch and no interesting twist to the gunfight at all, then he hits a propane tank or something and [sp]blows up the hq[/sp] It was like the penultimate showdown and it was only 3 minutes long and nothing interesting happened in it at all. That being said, the opening shot going around the Dia de los Muertos is probably the best opening to a Bond movie ever, and Craig's sendoff is perfect. [editline]8th November 2015[/editline] Apparently this movie cost $300 million to make? How did they spend that much money, none of the setpieces were all that impressive
Apparently this movie cost $300 million to make? How did they spend that much money, none of the setpieces were all that impressive
They sunk a 300 million pound aston martin prototype, remember?
[sp]No, he says 'shit'. It's pretty obvious, and it works great as a joke, what with that being his only line in the movie.[/sp]
It doesn't work at all. Out of all jokes in the film, this felt really flat and forced, something straight out of 80s.
Also the [sp]Blofeld[/sp] makeup was very well done.
CGI.
trailers made that obvious enough

Exactly what I expected.

you didn't have to tell me that
I watched it in a free screening for critics, so the 1 is because I didn't pay for it.
