this felt really flat and forced, something straight out of 80s
That's the point
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - 9/10 Still one of my favorites of all time. A fine example of everything being just right.
I think we can all agree 'The Writing On The Wall' was reaaally shit.
That's the point
I always thought that the only way for a joke to work is to be funny.
saw sicario with my dad since it's father's day here, bretty neat. Liked all the overhead shots and the excellent soundtrack. Some of the direction seemed a bit gratuitous [sp]when the bodies were discovered in the walls, the camera kept showing their faces between other scenes pretty much constantly[/sp]. Yeah, I get it, it's fucked up. The story felt a bit incoherent at times but I suppose that was just supposed to establish Blunt's character's confusion at everything that was going on. There was some pretty hard operatin' which was nice, especially loved the border crossing scene which was definitely my favorite part of the film. Would recommend.
I think we can all agree 'The Writing On The Wall' was reaaally shit.
Which really sucks too because there were some parts I felt that the song wanted to go, that would make it really good and more like a Bond theme, but they just didn't do anything with it. The song went no where.
I think we can all agree 'The Writing On The Wall' was reaaally shit.
Yeah the song was awful, I don't know why they thought it was a good idea
i liked TWINE
Me too, that's why I sang it. It's my favorite.
I think we can all agree 'The Writing On The Wall' was reaaally shit.
It's not THAT bad but its definitely one of my least favorite Bond themes. It's down there with Quantum of Solace and *shudders* Die Another Day.
It's not THAT bad but its definitely one of my least favorite Bond themes. Until I was told it had Beyoncé (or someone like that) in it, I honestly thought it was an instrumental. I can remember the video for it, with all the oil dripping on everyone, but not the song. And I'm not sure I want to. But Sam Smith is for some reason so huge right now, that I'll never be able to forget about his prepubescent whining.

This is Quantum of Solace's theme.
I actually like the Quantum of Solace theme, though I like Jack White's parts better than Alicia Keys'. I still think it's kinda ridiculous that they've always done the weird semi-pornographic intro credit's music video in every single bond film. I hope they just get rid of it when they reboot the series again, it's a tradition that needs to go.
There Will Be Blood Wow, this is great, why haven't I watched this sooner. Great performances from the leads and a very interesting look into their characters. I actually thought beforehand this movie would not interest me but decided to watch it anyway. So worth it. Like an 8.5/10 for me I think

The thing about women in the intro is that Bond, at least until we finally get a female one (and even then who knows what path they'll go with that character, she could be bisexual or have no sexual desires at all), has always been a character defined about the women and the sexual encounters in his life. Since the openings are supposed to reflect the events of the moie, women are to be expected.
at least until we finally get a female one (and even then who knows what path they'll go with that character, she could be bisexual or have no sexual desires at all)
Not in our lifetime.
Spectre It was very, very okay. Some shots were very nice but the story wasn't satisfying. Overall "just" a Bond film. Skyfall was way better. The intro song kind of fit the intro animation but outside of it is pretty shit. [sp]Few nitpicks and complaints. Bond undresses Bellucci and after sexy time she is in a corset (which she didn't have). Did she change during it? Why not just cover her with the sheets to avoid showing her naked? Later the French girl gets drunk, tells Bond to not touch her and goes to sleep in her dress while Bond sits next to her in a chair to act as a guard. Bond later realizes he didn't search one place (still in the chair) and while he searches the noise wakes up the French girl and what do you know she is now dressed only in a nightgown. I didn't like how much they made Spectre as an evil organisation from the 80s. Especially the part where Waltz switches off the lights and all the IT people stand up like minions. Same deal with how cartoonish they made Waltz's scars. No stitches and his eye is already white? Come on. Skyfall made Silva pretty silly but he still seemed like a villain that would fit in the more real/gritty world the Casino Royale set up. I don't want to talk about the agency merge subplot because that was just boring and terrible.[/sp]
They made that one.
Yeah, I remembered that one as not being that bad. It's still a long, awkward, and annoying break from the rest of the movie though, which was my point in wanting them to not do them again. Didn't intend any emphasis on my use of 'semi-pornographic'. I don't know, maybe they could do the ending credits that way instead of the opening? Then people have a choice in watching it or not, and they can still make a big deal about who is doing the Bond theme this time around.
It's not THAT bad but its definitely one of my least favorite Bond themes. Die Another Day is nothing but awful noise and some horrific reference to Sigmund Freud. I wanted to die after listening to Die Another Day.

Spectre It was alright. Not as good as Skyfall but better than Quantum of Solace. Bond [sp]falls though a collapsed building and lands sitting on a couch. How can you not like that.[/sp]
I liked Quantum of Solace
Harbinger Down Plot: Just like all the other reviews say, it's 'The Thing' on a boat. And if you read the background of how this film came to be, you'd know that is exactly what it's supposed to be. Did I enjoy it? Yes. The writing? It's okay. The acting? At certain parts it was bad. The practical effects? Awesome. Some of the stuff they pulled with little to no CGI was amazing. This is why you should see the movie. Sure, it has all the symptoms of a typical B-Movie, but I'd watch this over that new 'Thing' movie.
Ex Machina I can't think of a single movie that made me feel so, i dunno, almost violated. I sat staring at my screen for like 3 minutes after it ended just because I couldn't believe what happened. One of the best films in the past couple of years and I'm super pissed that I haven't watched it before. [editline]8th November 2015[/editline] I feel like I just got buttfucked in the emotions

Just saw Anomalisa last night, truly a perfect movie. 10/10, going to win some oscars for sure
