Yeah, I remembered that one as not being that bad. It's still a long, awkward, and annoying break from the rest of the movie though, which was my point in wanting them to not do them again. Didn't intend any emphasis on my use of 'semi-pornographic'. I don't know, maybe they could do the ending credits that way instead of the opening? Then people have a choice in watching it or not, and they can still make a big deal about who is doing the Bond theme this time around.
I think you just might be alone in having a wrong opinion like yours, and probably Bond isn't for you and you don't understand the character
The intros are awesome
I don't really mind either way, I wouldn't care if they changed it up but they can be really cool and stylish sometimes. And they never felt forced/out of place/cheap
in fact now that i think about it the intros are definitely getting more mature with each movie
Uh no, I love Bond movies, I always have. Still think the intro credits are retarded. It's nothing to do with him being a womanizer either, it's about it being a boring long thing that detracts rather than adds to the movie.
I feel like you haven't even watched them
Just saw Anomalisa last night, truly a perfect movie. 10/10, going to win some oscars for sure
Oh my God I'm insanely fucking jealous. HUGE Charlie Kaufman fan, Synecdoche New York is in my top 5 hands fucking down.
Gonna try to do anything I can to drive up to the arthouse theater to see it as soon as possible once it comes out around here

It's entirely worth doing whatever you can to see it! I've seen all his films except adaptation and the apeman one, but this is my favorite of all his work. Within its own scope it's truly a flawless film. While I can see other people having people enjoying his other movies more for personal reasons, this movie really does every single second correctly. One of the best films I've seen, it's just consistently excellently done.
you should see adaptation then get back to me
You should get around to Adaptation for sure, but it took me longer to love
I hated the third act the first time I watched it but started to grasp what he was doing the second time around
[editline]9th November 2015[/editline]
also my favorite Meryl Streep performance
Finally watched Interstellar. Bit of a mindfuck but I think I got it overall, I think some more context would be handier though. That and some closure on the end would be nice.
8/10 I reckon.
[editline]9th November 2015[/editline]
Oh and The Martian too, I'll have that at an 8/10 too since I really enjoyed it. Not too much to say about it really though, intro and launch sequences were pretty great in my opinion.
[sp]It was interesting see Matt Damon go from a good guy in The Martian to a shitdog in Interstellar.[/sp]
Lost in Translation - Tears/10, One of my favorite movies.
who cares what an old dead dude thinks? it is 2015 and james bond should not rape people
Bond was and is never supposed to rape anyone. I've heard that some people got that impression from Spectre, but I'd blame the film writers or the director for that. Bond is supposed to be a gentleman, really. And he doesn't treat all the women he's in bed with like trash, unless he thinks they deserve it as a human being. Even then, he knows that it often comes back to bite him in the ass. Bond is a good guy when it comes to women, and they've always been his weakness.

cant comment on the books, but this is not how it is in the films
Tell us what you thought about the movie you just finished watching. No TV shows.
Spectre James Boned 9.7 out of 10 it was a very good movie but a bit long
cant comment on the books, but this is not how it is in the films
The films from the sixties, yeah, well, they were pretty rape-y at times, but the latter ones just assume that "Bond is fucking hot and sexy and overall charismatic so every woman wants to fuck him", so they can show him having sex with every single woman without any character development.
Though that one scene in Spectre was borderline retarded and I can understand it could've made some people uncomfortable.
Do you guys know similiar films such as Mulholland Drive, or Fear and Loathing? I really dig the whole messing with one's brains type of film, and fear & loathing's exceptional at portraying it's characters.

Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Inland Empire, Wild at Heart
you should see adaptation then get back to me
I mean I'll watch it yeah but I promise Anomalisa is still the best film he's made
Eraserhead is fucking amazing. I have an Eraserhead T-Shirt coming in the mail any day now. If you watch it though, do so late at night and alone. That's the best time to experience it imo.
I still have yet to watch it, but I really should.
I think with all the reboots, the best way is just dig into the underground of yesteryear.
cant comment on the books, but this is not how it is in the films
Not all films then, I have yet to see Spectre for myself. As far as I remember, Moore's Bond is not very womanizing, same with Dalton's and Brosnan's. Sean Connery's is a bit, it depends on the film.

Yeah, this is correct.
In the novels, Bond is sometimes quite womanizing (as his author was), sometimes not (Bond also gets married in the novels after all!). But women have always been his weakness in both novels and films, they make him hesitate when they're in his way. He also feels forced to protect women (is that womanizing? I am not extremely familiar with the word), which is something that without a doubt would make some people mad nowadays.
Ex Machina
A very interesting movie about AI. Before I go more in-depth I will say it's definitely worth a watch. I heard people felt it was a bit slow but I found the pace just enough for the movie.[sp]I wouldn't be surprised if I simply don't know about it and the movie already exists but I'm still waiting for an AI movie that has characters that have the same thoughts about AI as me. Here the AI is created to be a free will, an evolution of humans. I can respect that and I enjoyed the movie (although the robo-servant felt out of place in the final showdown, seeing how it acted pretty mindless before). I think AI should have some boundaries. I hate to talk about Interstellar but despite it's terrible ending the way they designed their robots was just perfect to me.[/sp]

SPECTRE
-2/10
Holy fuck this was probably the worst big-theater movie I have ever seen.
[editline]10th November 2015[/editline]
[sp]It was me James, I was the author of all your pain. However we're never going to into detail about how I actually did that or establish any sense of "mega-controlling" super antagonist beyond exposition. What did you think about these pictures I printed out James? Of all the previous villains. Clearly I was involved with them because I printed them out clearly. I tried to xerox them in color but it wasn't working James, does it still get the point across?
Well anyhow we are not going to outsmart eachother in any satisfying way, so here's you window to win now, as stated I'm the most important antagonist to you so here's a 5 minute (500 seconds isn't 5 minutes) timer.[/sp]
I was propping up my head with my hand really just waiting for the film to end. 2nd worst movie experience to literally falling asleep in Star Wars Episode 2.
Spectre really wasn't that bad, jeez
i actually really quite enjoyed it and i dont care for bond at all. thought it was better than skyfall tbh
bond's a womanizer, it's a key part of his character. taking that away would be stupid, and sir ian fleming would roll in his grave if it ever happened.
what ian fleming would think is irrelevant when it comes to the movies

if the writer and director manage to make Bond a rapist then Bond is a rapist.. Also u dont have to be a cartoonish monster to be a rapist u cant point a rapist out of a line on looks and how they act generally. Someone like Bond is the kind of rapist who is a manipulator and uses his charm and looks to get women. He might not treat women like trash outside of the bedroom (i bet he does tho-- i reckon he would b very high and mighty towards women) but that doesnt mean he cant also rape people. Even being nice to Bond he's hardly a "good guy" he takes advantage of women and throws them in the trash lol even if u believe he isn't an actual rapist he still doesnt give a shit about women (this is also related as to why what ian fleming thinks is irrelevant-- hes a dude from the 50s so he probably was also a misogynist so lets not go back to 50s macho fiction for reference on how to write women)
I thought Spectre was quite good, although there were quite a few continuity errors and the plot was a little all over the place. There were times when it seemed like the plot was driving the characters, rather than the other way around.
[sp]It was almost as if James was just showing up wherever the plot needed him to be. So he kills a guy in Mexico, then goes to the funeral in Italy, sleeps with the widow, infiltrates a super secret meeting and then the next time we catch up with him he's sailing on a lake in Austria. There is some foreshadowing, but not a lot, and it's almost as if he just stumbles on Mr. White's lakehouse (at first I thought it was Hans Oberhouser's house, and that James had tracked down his adoptive father, but I was way off the mark with that assumption). We catch up with Bond again at a private medical clinic made entirely out of glass, on the top of a mountain. It turns out this is where Mr. White's genius daughter is hiding, and practically before her dad was cold, Bond sleeps with her. Maybe I was too tired or something but I found myself constantly confused and out of the loop on why and where Bond was throughout the film. It always made sense afterward, but it really threw me.[/sp]
Anyway, it was a solid Bond flick, as long as you can get over the minor flaws, [sp]like how they turn up everywhere in perfectly fashionable attire, even though they might have only discovered they were going somewhere the day before[/sp] and somewhat over the top action [sp]your eyes will literally roll out of your skull during the plane sequence otherwise[/sp]. I'd say that it made more sense than Skyfall, but it's still a style-over-substance affair. Which is fine, because it's James Bond, it's always been 100% style.
Sam Smith can whine someplace else though, I wasn't an immediate fan of the Quantum of Solace theme but it is so much better than 'The Writing's on the Wall'. Smith seems to have put 0 effort into sounding like a Bond theme; it is as others have said, another Sam Smith song where he whines a lot.
uses his charm and looks to get women.
As oppose to how else to get women? Literally has worked for millions of men throughout the centuries of time :v:
He preys on women and takes advantage of them-- if he is not a rapist then he is still a misogynidtic creep
