I just finished watching this and this scene pictured below is missing:

Anybody notice this or did you see this scene? Please let me know.
This isn't in the movie.
I went into this one expecting to like it and I fucking hated it
It felt like it tried way too fucking hard to be Cool with a capital C because '80s references and synthesizers, very throwback guys! Plus, the "exploitation" elements didn't even faze me in the slightest because they looked so obviously fake
I really ought to stop watching genre-revival stuff with any hope. Should've learned my lesson after Kung Fury
honestly I wasn't entirely feeling it until 20-30 minutes in when I really got a sense of what it was going for. some of the fake blood was a bit overdone but I liked how over-the-top and inventive some of the kills got.
however I have a pretty high tolerance for suspending my disbelief and rolling with the world a movie sets up if I'm enjoying it. I liked how it didn't explain too much. Plus I've been playing Fallout NV lately so stuff like a New Zealander arm-wrestling cowboy doesn't even make me think twice.
also Michael Ironside was great, of course. I really like how he described the movie: "We all kind of made this commitment to hold onto these stylized characters, and… I don’t know. It’s kind of cute. I watched it last night, and I was kind of cringing for the first five minutes. I really was. I was, like, “Oh, this isn’t what I expected…” But then, I swear to God, it has this complete charm and commitment where you go, “Wait a second…” It just works, you know?"
Kung Fury is almost incomparable because it's just balls-out insane farce whereas Turbo Kid is more genuine. KF really goes THIS IS THE 1980s whereas TK is more like "hey, this reminds me of 80s movies"
This isn't in the movie.
If it weren't for the two guys behind Tom, I'd almost say it was a shot from Jack Reacher.
EDIT: Okay, apparently people disagree. Did I miss something, or was the humor just lost on me?
I think you just don't find it funny. Nothing to get worked up about tho.
Goon - 7.5/10
I was expecting this to be a bad movie that I constantly skimmed over in Netflix, it stars Sean William Scott and from the look of the cover it just looked dumb/generic. Someone got me to watch it and I ended up like, really liking it. It has a ton of heart with a pretty great cast with Liev Schreiber as the main antagonist. Well worth the watch. It's really what every kind of these slapstick comedies should strive to be.
Towards the end it became formulaic but it still managed to be relatively fresh and self-aware. Definitely leaves a good lasting impression.

Yeah, this one also caught me off guard and I'd recommend it. I think it's a bit confused as to what genre it's trying to be sometimes, but overall p. solid
If it weren't for the two guys behind Tom, I'd almost say it was a shot from Jack Reacher.
It's the Tom's haircut that makes the difference, in Rogue Nation it was hideous, completely distracting from the film

The only part that seemed out of place was when he let his [sp]girlfriend's ex beat shit out of him[/sp] but still, it was funny at least and took up hardly any time.
Goon definitely has the highest swear count I've ever heard from a movie
Nightcrawler 8/10
Very original premise, and Jake Gyllenhaal makes the entire movie, very convincing in the role of a complete sociopath who is somehow still likeable
This isn't in the movie.
Thanks for the information, I don't know why this was cut from the movie, do you?
Rain Man 8/10
Really nice character development and acting on Hoffman's place.
Goon is on Netflix? Been meaning to see it for awhile since my friends have recommended it and shown me scenes from it before. I'll have to check it out sometime.
The Big Lebowski
5/5
Decided to watch this one because I hadn't seen it in a while. It's still one of my favorite Coen Brothers movie, and certainly my favorite of their comedies.
Unpopular Opinion time: I didn't really enjoy the Big Lebowski as much as everyone else seems to. I thought it was a good movie, but the kind of acclaim it gets just doesn't click with me. Is there a specific reason why people seem to love it so much, other than it just being funny?

Oh yeah, and a late review.
Chinatown (1974)
First off, I think I now like Jack Nicholsons more tame performances more than his wilder ones. I thought this movie was awesome, because of the way it completely derails itself from the genre norms [sp]and also ends in a really depressing fashion[/sp]. one of my new favorite crime/detective movies, one im sure ill watch again
70s Jack Nicholson was the best.
But yeah, I attribute its cult following because it's insanely quotable and generally off the wall. I mean, how many noir-stoner-bowling comedies can you think of?
1: Jeff Bridges
2: very fucking quotable
3: Jeff Bridges

interesting
its funny because he is spot on
Big Lebowski is good but overrated
The best Coens movie is definitely Miller's Crossing
I like Hudsucker Proxy best.

I'd probably put Inside Llewyn Davis as my favorite.

Oscar Issac is the man.
Chinatown or Lebowski?
I'd probably put Inside Llewyn Davis as my favorite.

This, was absolutely entranced with Inside Llewyn Davis.
My top three Coens' are probably Miller's Crossing, Fargo, and Barton Fink
Although I loved Llewyn Davis and am very much looking forward to Hail Caesar (that fucking cast!)
well to be fair I love the majority of the Coen's stuff, but I especially love Llewyn Davis, I don't know if I have a ~favorite, it's a mood thing really I think. Fargo, True Grit, Miller's Crossing, all classics imo
No love for no country for old men??
and no mention of o brother where art thou
Coens are like Scorsese - it's fucking impossible to find one best film while having made several 10/10s
and no mention of o brother where art thou

No love for no country for old men??
That's my point, almost every Coen film is fantastic, basically what Joz said
