omg I'm seeing Carol next week I can hardly wait
Super - Okay film, but I felt like a lot of it was undeveloped. Broke some tropes though which was nice.
Battle Royale - In many ways it reminded me of a controversial film from the 70s with the detailed violence committed by youths. There was also something unique about the film that I can't quite put my finger on that made it sort of resemble older films. I don't know if it was the cinematography or what. Only flaw I saw in the film was that [sp]I thought a much more negative ending would have been more fitting.[/sp]
Kung Pow: Enter The Fist I mean, this film man, it's like a work of art but it's also just bad. It's been a long time since a film made me laugh so many times. That being said, a lot of scenes felt very childish and corny which kinda disrupted the(already weird) flow. For instance, the scene with the cow was just mostly cringey stuff. The film basically consists of funny scenes, dialogue and action, where the storyline is just there to give it some basis but that's of course not the point of this film. If you are looking for a good laugh, watch this some time. There are so many factors that make a movie good or bad, but for entertainment value, I'd give this like a 7.5/10
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials 2/10 an ungodly shitty fuckness that just borrows parts of other movies here and there and comes out with a painfully unoriginal and dull film that hits every cliche' in the book. The first movie wasn't that bad, I enjoyed the mystery aspect of it, but this one has none of that. It's also waaaaay to long, and the few interesting casting choices were wasted, and the worst part is that absolutely nothing makes sense.
thats partly because of how bad the book is the maze runner had such an interesting concept and then they dragged it on FOREVER with a bunch of uninteresting shit
So I watched Inglorious Bastards last night, and man it was good. It felt like one of the more 'normal' movies of Tarantino, but was still very, very engaging throughout the whole ride. I really love the character and acting for the 'Jew Hunter.' Going to watch Django Unchained today. After that I think I'm out of movies to watch. Was never a big movie guy so after this director I'll be out of ideas.
I still remember seeing Inglorious Basterds in theaters. I can't believe it has been out over six years now...

Just finished Django Unchained! What a movie, incredibly engaging and Samuel Jackson was downright spooky at times. Spoilers! [sp]When the German fellow shot Mr. Candi or whatever I literally gasped; they could have left peacefully with their lady in tow, why start a gun fight and possibly get Django and his lady killed? WHY GERMAN MAN? Am I native, were they going to die anyway?[/sp]

Instead, Dr. Schulltz convince his partner to attempt a convulted and unnecessary gamble This plan is later discovered, pisses off both Candi and Steven and leads to Schultz death and Django being nearly sold to slavery[/sp]
American Psycho - Really a unique and amazing film. Christian Bale gave a superb performance.
The Big Lebowski- Very little to complain about. Hilarious, efficient, and brilliant. 3rd time watching it and I still laughed through most of the film. Citizen Kane- Very, very good. Charles Foster Kane is a great character and I feel stupid for waiting this long to see this film. Excellent pretty much across the board. Well shot, well edited, well acted, well executed, and well written. Despite being nearly 2 hours, it does not feel its length at all. I also appreciate how difficult some of those scenes were to choreograph and the craftsmanship that went into creating the sets and visuals.
After the Dark - A lot different than I expected and partially due to that kept me intrigued with the film the entire time. Very interesting approach to a film.
The Crow - Really stylistically and visually stunning. Had a great atmosphere. Really sad how Brandon Lee died making it with so few scenes left to film. Only major flaws are that some shots are very obviously greenscreen/cgi and that it does that annoying choppy slow motion thing a few times.

The reason for that was established in the original script, but unfortunately it was cut from the final film, just like whatever happened with her after Bruce Dern sold her (Candie wasn't the first owner).
Mad Max Fury Road 5/5 I watched the movie 3 times (2 was IMAX and now at home). I will never stop loving it.
Stand By Me this film is terrific. some solid child performances all round and it's integral in the coming of age genre that is forever developing. It's depressive but imo if this is watched at a much younger age, I think it will hit harder and regardless of the vulgar language I think any 11 year old can watch this easily. It's a rare case where I genuinely can say, screw the certificate. There's a lot of films rated 15 that I would gladly show my nephew whose 9. The only things I would avoid would be things involving mature content that clearly needs education before viewing. But it depends entirely on what it is and whose watching it. [editline]22nd November 2015[/editline] Lady in the Van Maggie Smith is dynamite... I don't think I've seen a proper movie of her in a central performance and I'm glad I finally did. This is hilarious and absolute classic, one of my favourites of this year so far.. What works here is narrative, it's just constantly good, satirical yet doesn't take the piss and it's not plastic arty fartsy kind of malarkay because this just is... and it is a film that needed to be made. The thing is, when films cast people that are near impossible to cast, when they get it right, it's so good and there's no other who could play Maggie Smith's role here, not in a million years. It's unlikely to have a wide release, but if you see it playing, go watch because it's a neat thing. I played that Stanley Parable game and bits and pieces kind of remind me of that narrative if anyone interested in that sort of humour. Well worth seeing, and meaningful.
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (Kim Ki-duk, 2003) 9/10 I cried exactly 5 times during this film. Including twice uncontrollably. I just can't take it when you mix moral implications, superb scenery and fantastic music. I just can't.
watched the bourne trilogy during the weekend p sure I had never seen the first film, I'd seen the second a billion times but never paid attention to it and I might have seen the third one once contrary to what I had heard they didn't get worse movie by movie rather than better. The first one was pretty zzz-tastic, the second one was okay and I actually enjoyed the third one. I'd prob rate then 4/10, 5/10 and 7/10. IIRC there was one more movie in the franchise with a different lead actor but I don't think I care enough to watch that

There's one good scene in the fourth movie and that's about it
I remember the Jeremy Renner one being awful but I only ever saw it once and couldn't even tell you what happened.

There are very few films I'd say are genuinely life changing but that is one of them.
ye it's a shame i didn't watch it as a kid... I grew up learning about reality through Terminator, Rush Hour 2 and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. This was actually not a bad setup tbh, p accurate depiction of real life events.
Agreed, Stand By Me is a perfect coming of age movie and no matter how many times I've seen it, it's not lost its edge.
