Saw Trumbo the other night, It was alright though it lacked any real heart. The movie succeeded in educating me on a topic I had no knowledge of before it though. 7/10
Phantom Menace will always be bad, but at least it's not Attack of the Clones bad.
Watched another two films recommended earlier in this thread. Attack the Block (Joe Cornish, 2011) 7.5/10 It's a fun film, but it falls into too many clichés and fails to be as funny as the Cornetto trilogy. But if you're looking for a London-set mix between Dredd and Aliens, you're not going to be disappointed. It was nice to see the film that probably got John Boyega into the role of his career in a certain film released today it seems. Eastern Promises (David Cronenberg, 2007) 8/10 "At least we got to see Aragorn fighting naked" -- my mum, 2015 A very bleak drama with a good atmosphere and particularly great actors about prostitutes and Eastern Europe mafias in London.
Rebuild of Evangelion 2 Enjoying this far more than I did the series; pretty much everything I felt didn't serve much of a purpose (which is the reason I stopped watching) has been stripped out and everything else tightened up. The new sequences, or what I'm pretty sure are new, are great and the animation is top notch. Even the English dub is decent. Excited to see the next one.
Excited to see the next one.
you're going to be disappointed, imo at least.
~700,000,000 out of [INDETERMINATE] About as concrete as a 7/10 from IGN
pretty much.
Phantom Menace Watching for the first time in its entirety. Oh boy am I in a treat... [editline]15th December 2015[/editline] Nevermind [editline]15th December 2015[/editline] [loadsa drunkard nonsense] Okay finished. It was ok, solid 4/10, now I'm intoxicated enough to watch Attack of the Clones. Pray for me.
Attack of the Cloens - it's like The Bodyguard remake but with no cool songs, and in space with shit dialogue and absolute lack of knowledge of human interactions and intimacy and with sand that is coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Not like in The Bodyguard. And I don't even like The Bodyguard
Watched "A Phantom Edit" (was posted in the video section) to remember the prequels without having to watch all 3 movies. There's just so much wasted potential. I really like some of the story, how the empire took over and Palpatine's rise to power, even Anakin's corruption- but it was executed so poorly.
The Visit 4/10 It's pretty bad, below the average spooky handheld cam movie. Say what you wish about the intentions of the director, and that it might have been intentional humor etc. Fact is the movie is slow, boring, there are barely any scary scenes, the story is barebone and the kids are annoying. Only props it gets are the elderly actors, who I liked, and some pretty shots and maybe a suspenseful moment or two. But that's about it. I seriously don't get all the praise. It's definetly a step up for Shyamalan since after earth and the last airbender, but that's not saying much at all.

Like the assassination attempt on Amidala. Jango (the best bounty hunter) is hired to kill her, so he hires Zam Wessel (a shapeshifter who never shapeshifts or disguises herself) to do it instead. Wessel then has a robot sneak into her room, and then the robot leaves giant bugs in the room that (shocker!) don't kill her. In the end, Jango snipes Wessel with a poison dart (rather than a bullet) that can only be identified by a fat man running a 50s diner, establishing that Jango could have easily killed Amidala himself at any time.
Phantom Menace will always be bad, but at least it's not Attack of the Clones bad.
Is it bad that I consider myself a Star Wars fan but I've never watched all of Attack of the Clones? I've tried a few times but it's just so boring.
Taxi Driver - Damn, that was an absolutely amazing film.
watched the new goosebumps flick. actually really enjoyed it, kinda like cabin in the woods' third act but for a family audience. some genuine laughs in there too
just finished watching Bone Tomahawk really, really enjoyed it. the kind of film i'd love to make. definitely recommend it, but it's one of those films that you'll enjoy more going in blind
Filth - 6.5/10 idk, it wasnt bad. i think it started to shine more towards the end normally i try not to give .5s in my ratings but im pretty undecided on this one. i think i gotta sleep on it, it definitely did a good job of making you feel as lost as he is
Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back - 10/10 Man, that third act is just fantastic. I love the look of Bespin, from the cool building matte paintings to the fantastic dark carbonite chamber. And the fight between Vader and Luke has so much great subtext - seeing how Vader tests Luke to see his skill and demeanor, in a calculated attempt to bring him to his side. Really looking forward to VI tomorrow - it's been a while since I watched that one but the final duel there is one of my favorite moments in the franchise.
i am seeing star wars in a few hours prepare for me to say 'it was fine'
I watched Cowboy Bebop. The coolest part was the beginning, with him flipping the gun, and the broom fighting scene. 9/10 would watch again.
holy moly, The Force awakens has 100% positive reviews out of 52 counted so far on rt. Pretty damn good for a start.
Wait a second, is the Hateful Eights coming out as well?! Damn it, Star Wars blinded me
holy moly, The Force awakens has 100% positive reviews out of 52 counted so far on rt. Pretty damn good for a start.
hype. itll be a while before it gets an accurate reception and proper analysis

Incredibly amazing, really one of the closest to perfect movies imo. Excited to watch Episode VI again, been a long time, worried I won't like it as much in my current age.
holy moly, The Force awakens has 100% positive reviews out of 52 counted so far on rt. Pretty damn good for a start.
but still realistically speaking it takes a couple months to get proper feedback. indiana jones 4 was once on imdb top250 in the first couple weeks of release so as for now those sites are pointless. :)
The Force Awakens is going to have 2 reviews: Jesus came back or I'm going to hang myself
I don't trust most reviews because shit like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/5b97nnD.png[/t]
Force Awakens 9/10 It sometimes feels like there's a slight hint of a base from the other movies, but it works. Many small details that complete the experience.
i thought it didn't come out until the 18th?
It came out today in Sweden at least. All of Europe perhaps. [editline]16th December 2015[/editline] Especially nice since the early screenings weren't that full of people.
I don't trust most reviews because shit like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/5b97nnD.png[/t]
this is legitimately the first mention of boyhood i've seen since the oscars [editline]16th December[/editline] truly a film built to last
