i don't understand how you can judge a movie like the revenant off a pirated copy
I kept alt-tabbing during the movie and doing other stuff cause it's too much to sit through all at once.
>:(
revenent is the kind of movie i'll watch v late and in 1080p... if it's anywhere near as good as Babel... with a soundtrack including Ryuichi Sakamoto, can't be anything less than a great experience. :]
never said she wasnt, just that youre completely wrong about her and boba being a badass all they do is literally stand around in costume
At least Boba Fett was a bounty hunter and one that works alone, for himself. An individual. Phasma is just another Stormtrooper, albeit of a higher rank than others. Hell, even Fett fired his blaster in the film.
it's because: everyone wants there to be jetpacks in the future. Boba Fett is the only character who owns a jetpack. This immediately makes him the most relatable person in the whole trilogy. It's hard to watch scenes like the chasm swing, the Bespin duel, the Sarlacc sequence, and the Endor battle without thinking, "why don't they all have jetpacks it would make things so much easier!"
chaps confirmed for having worked on the new battlefront game.
Gremlins fantastic Bad Santa fantastic
The Muppet Christmas Carol - 9/10 still the best "Christmas Carol"
never said she wasnt, just that youre completely wrong about her and boba being a badass all they do is literally stand around in costume
If RotJ was a lot better, they would have had Boba Fett survive the ordeal at Jabba's place and have a fight with Han on Endor, who's still probably butthurt about Boba getting him caught back in Cloud City. If he had a presence for the whole movie, they could have let him do a lot more and be a lot more interesting.
Oldboy (Spike Lee) 7/10 - Good shooting, had me really hooked for the first half an hour, but it got quite a bit messy once he got [sp]out of the prison hotel box thing[/sp]. Had an interesting and pretty dark twist, but it was overall very weird Kajaki, aka Kilo Two Bravo 5/10 - Lots of tense moments, a relatively original kind of war movie, but it suffered from drawing things out a bit too much, and really poor looking explosions, with said explosions being pretty important and significant events in the movie's context. It does gore pretty damn well though. Uwantme2killhim? 3/10 - I don't know what compelled us to decide to watch this, but we did. It has a kinda-interesting premise and a good twist therein, the main characters' actors actually do a pretty good job, but other than that it just wasn't worth the time
Heat (1995) Blu-Ray Edition 5/10 if you have seen the original version, 6/10 if you have never seen it. I would normally give Heat an 8 or 9 out of 10, but the Blu-Ray version has edits that imo make the payoff neutered. If you have never seen Heat before, I highly recommend you see it, but watch the DVD version, not the Blu-Ray version. More in depth as to the change they made that made me go from loving the blu-ray version to legitimately being angry after seeing the ending for a few hours, spoilers: [sp] So , Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are two similar guys on opposite sides of the law, and eventually Pacino tracks down De Niro and has a cup of coffee with him. They have a conversation where they get to know each other a bit better personally and begin to respect each other. But they warn each other that if they cross paths during a crime, they will put each other down. De Niro being the criminal as opposed to Pacino's detective role tells Pacino that he is "Never going back", referring to prison. At the end of the film they have a short face off where Pacino mortally wounds De Niro. Pacino walks up to De Niro and De Niro tells him"Told you I'm never going back", and Pacino replies "Yeah". Those two lines are cut from the end of the movie, and I think ruin the payoff of the story, which is a bit important in a 2 hour + film.[/sp] I know it seems I'm making it worse than it actually is. If you're interested in seeing the original ending without the dialogue cut, you can watch it here, but again spoilers, and I really think you should watch the film in its entirety if you haven't already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmpxIc1KB9I
the ridiculous 6 what's ridiculous is that i got past 6 minutes of this movie and turned it off at 7 *laugh track*
Ha I also turned it off after 5 min. It was awful

He's a bounty hunter, he works for pay. He wouldn't go after Han unless someone paid him to do it. The thing between Han Solo and Boba Fett was purely business, not personal.

Really? Almost ruins an entire film by taking out 2 lines
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 7.5/10 Really well made and edited although the politics get a bit toothless. Also: I am not convinced this didn't start out as a spec script for a Metal Gear Solid adaptation.
Akira - 9/10 Holy shit, that was something else. I don't know how to describe it exactly, I could name quite a few movies that had an idea or two that all could converge into what Akira might be, but really you just have to watch it for yourself. You won't regret it.
I'd strongly recommend reading the Akira manga before watching the movie
I'd strongly recommend reading the Akira manga before watching the movie
Oh I will, especially considering the same person was behind all of it. I ordered volume 1 off Amazon a few days ago after watching the film, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Hateful Eight, (very very good/10) Hateful Eight is pretty much a retelling of "clue" but in the frozen mountains of Wyoming, every single character actor knocks it out of the park. It's very dialogue heavy but every scene fills you with dread with what these horrible people will say or do to one another. The only real issue I had with the film is that some of the lighting is a bit "too good" almost not natural for the time period and it was a little distracting, other than that I highly recommend you see it.

I know a new film based on it will never be as good as the '80s version, but I'd love to see a new adaptation that was more accurate to the manga.
I feel like a complete adaptation of the manga would have to be split up into two or three movies. That's not gonna happen. We'll probably just end up getting the single, probably awful live-action version that's been in limbo for years and years, if we do get anything.
Snatch(again) It starts a weeeeee bit slow but builds up momentum until 2/3 of the movie where most of the shit goes down. That's not to say it only starts to get interesting at that point though because fuck me, this is one entertaining movie throughout. Great cast, great performances and funnier than a lot of comedies without using obvious jokes. 8.5/fookin poikeys
I'd strongly recommend reading the Akira manga before watching the movie
no no no you always watch the movie before reading the book especially in this case considering akira is like 2,000 pages and the movie is only two hours (and leaves out a lot of stuff)
there doesn't have to be a rule for whether or not you watch the book or the movie first
I'd say it's generally better to watch the movie first. Otherwise, you're just going to watch the movie, foaming at the mouth at all the shit they fucked up.
I'd say it's generally better to watch the movie first. Sure glad I didn't read Ender's Game multiple times in jr high, waiting patiently for years until they made a movie out of it!
Woody Allen's Irrational Man 5/10 With this film and his previous Magic in the Moonlight I believe woody allen has stooped to a new low. The themes had been explored already in his previous films, and to a better degree. I'm a great fan of his but am a bit sad that his movies are becoming much more misses than hits lately.
I'd say it's generally better to watch the movie first. It's a movie first and it has to work as a movie, so if that means leaving things out then so be it.
