Point is, he's clarifying I'm not crazy and i didn't make it up, I'm taking information from other people and infer what the system is.
Saying it doesn't hurt is a way of proving your "strength" so to speak. It shows how tough and how well you can handle the punch. If you hit someone in the face with a hammer they will obviously say it hurts cause IT WILL HURT.
But a punch will probably hurt for a second and it will just dull out quickly.
