Secondary School (high school) used to be years 7-11 with years 12 and 13 being optional. The law has changed, however, so now so it's years 7-13.

People finish school at 18 now, I think that's the same as the US.

Some at 17. Most at 18 yes.
Saying a punch doesn't hurt is simply a way to show you are tuff. It's not like it really does hurt, not much at least. You feel some slight pain, but if you shoulder it off, you're better for it.
