Avatar was incredible! the only thing I didn't like about it was the font they used for the logo and how it fades over the last bit at the end, the story was incredible and the CGI was an incredible new level I seriously couldn't tell if the Na'vi were CGI or not!

Seriously, the cgi was awesome, and all I saw was the cam because the nearest theater playing it (in 2D OR 3D) is 4 hours both ways and no movie is worth that in either time or gas.
avatar was a very predicable move with somewhat decent GCI still alot of DOF and ailising errors I noticed and pop in's along with the fact that is it a furry movie. it gets a 2.5/10
Honestly, the Sky People are going to return. And probably with more shit.
Blue cat things and you can't tell if they were real or not.
Har Har Har.
Honestly, the Sky People are going to return. And probably with more shit.
Obviously, James Cameron said that if it's successful (and it is) it'll turn into a trilogy. Woo wikipedia.

Somewhat decent CGI? "DOF and 'ailising' errors" as if you know what you're talking about? And pop in? I hope you're being sarcastic.
Well for one thing they needed Jake because he was the only one left to use the avatar. As far as the rest go.... There are a lot of unexplained things in this movie like if there isn't any oxygen how are there explosions?
It was the pressure of the air not the oxygen that caused them to need masks.
Oh wow. Plot is predictable.
You do realize that saying what everyone else has said doesn't make you smart. No shit the plot's predictable, you know how many movies have been made? It was still done in the best possible way and was awesome and your all getting pissy over the fact it's a not totally original plot.

You're like those people that say the lunar landing is a myth. Learn what you are talking about before you type it.
I didn't sign up for this shit! Best line ever. :v:
I enjoyed it,seen the same storyline everywhere though.
I think this movie is beautiful. In my top 5
It got my MOTY (Movie of the Year) Award.
For a James Cameron film, I thought it was pretty lackluster but the effects were absolutely stunning.
Unobtanium. COME THE FUCK ON.
The Mineral never got really mentioned, none cares about it. Btw: http://sekcobra.net/hall-of-fame/
It's the fucking name. It's like they were trying to be subtle but made a massive wink.
Could someone tell me what's so amazing about Avatar? I'm waiting for a dvd to come out because the cinemas here are NOT fun so I might as well find out what's so good. Also if you can, explain it without spoilers?
It's the fucking name. It's like they were trying to be subtle but made a massive wink.
What's so bad about it? The actual properties they say it has are supposedly amazing enough to warrant being the official "Unobtainium".

I should have watched it in Imax, cause the 3D thing was a bit crap IMO. Regardless, awesome movie.
they're the same movie except one has blue aliens
No they're not, District 9 is pretty much apartheid with aliens and Avatar is pretty much Pocahontas in space.
I totally didn't expect the ending with the animals saving the day.
I loved it in every way.I forgot if I watched it in 3d or not though, lol.
If anyone has ever seen the animated 90s movie Fern Gully-- The plot is basically ripped straight from that. synopsis: -Coalition of lumberjacks go into a 'magical' forest after all the other forests have been harvested for resources -One lumberjack gets turned into a fairy, which are the magical inhabitants of the forest -Female princess fairy finds lumberjack fairy, brings him back to fairyville (starting to see the similarities?) -Fairy forest is eccentricly beautiful, visuals are outstanding (for the 90s) -Obvious romance between lumberjack fairy and female fairy princess, who was supposed to be married to a male fairy -The lumberjack fairy has to warn Fairyville of the incoming humans (seeing the similiarites now?) -Fairies and lumberjack fairy work together to beat back the humans -Humans have an "ultimate" weapon (Avatar: ship full of explosives to attack the tree of life or whatever; fern gully: ancient evil spirit Hexxus who wants to destroy the place, it can also be said that Hexxus is the "spirit of mining," just like in avatar) Basically the exact same concept. Down to the very scene. I encourage you to look it up, Avatar is staggeringly close to Fern Gully in execution.
I dislike how james is thinking its he's best. The only things I like are the facial expressions, and the environment, and that's about it. The story is way over used. And why didn't the humans have any reinforcements? And how is it that the shuttle's explosion didn't hit the trees at all? It was so close, and the amount of explosives should have damaged the tree. And how is it that the humans, missed their targets more than half the time? The environment wasn't too exicting, Was hoping for more cooler animals. Should have looked at star wars, their planets were cooler, Pandora was simply a vast tropical planet. And that's about it. What do you guys think?
The story is a cliche. But let's be fair, Avatar is a blockbuster special effects movie, these kinds of movies ALWAYS have simple stories. Star Wars and Titanic are two obvious examples- if you know the story of King Arthur, Star Wars ain't gonna surprise you. Rich girl falls in love with poor boy- that story was told a thousand times in the movies before Titanic. In these kinds of movies the story is secondary to everything else going on. The humans were mercenaries, think of a company like Blackwater. They weren't the US military. They didn't have the military resources of a government. That's why they had to make their own half assed superbomb and use the shuttle as a bomber. As to why the bomb didn't destroy it anyways, I suggest studying the Vietnam war. In that, we(the US) dropped tons of bombs from B-52s on targets and still had little effect. A thick jungle canopy can absorb a lot. The difference between this movie and the Star Wars prequels is that while there may be more going on in the Star Wars planets, Avatar's planet and creatures looked real. The prequels looked like computer graphics, which is one reason why they sucked for the most part.
Bro, sorry to say, but look a this:
The Resources Development Administration, or RDA is the largest single non-governmental organization in human space. Its power is such that it outmatches most Earth governments in wealth, political influence, and military capability. The RDA has monopoly rights to all products shipped, derived, or developed from Pandora and any other off-Earth location. These rights were granted to the RDA in perpetuity by the Interplanetary Commerce Administration (ICA), with the stipulation that they abide by a treaty that prohibits weapons of mass destruction and limits military power in space.

The story line was pretty damn predictable, but I still liked it. The CGI was jaw-dropping. Yeah the movie was worth my 14 bucks. About the humans not having reinforcements, that can be answered in a sequel. If they did have reinforcements then the movie would've been twice as long.
Yeah, death by old age is bad for the movie's press.
