He did cry, he's a bullshitter.
What is the point in lying about having and showing emotions? I mean, really...It's like denying you're human.
oh
well you know they are people too just people who are most likely assholes
They might as well not be people, they don't have emotions, and generally don't do anything themselves, at least a rock has uses...such as...i don't know, but it's better than the OP
animals have emotions too
Nope. Try again.
Animals have instincts, not emotions; They're not self-aware.

He wants to look cool, he wants to be different, he wants to be a rebel. Who knows man...who knows.

You can sharpen a rock on another rock and use it to cut food and stuff.

have you ever seen a dog sad by its owners dead body or an ape cry over its dead mom
Op isn't a sociopath anyway, he says he's felt love. He's a poser who's either A) Lying or B) He's young and had nothing tragic actually occur to him yet.
Same here...It depends on who it is, but generally I want to help everyone.
Except cats.
op did that dog episode of futurama bum you out
Nope. Try again.

They do have emotions, very very basic ones like hunger...sadness...that's all I got. Not all animals are totally un-self-aware, if they are then I totally misgauged how advanced us humans are.

Except cats and mexicans I guess, but cats I don't care about as much as a human, that's for sure.

They do indeed have emotions. Don't forget that fear, anger, happiness are all emotions that can be found in a variety of species.

I think that dog part is that it doesn't know how to get food anymore.
Apes however are actually smart creatures, so I can understand them crying..

Makes sense I guess, but I am not an expert.

You can argue that fear is an instinct, to be afraid of what can destroy you.

Hunger is about right, but that's an instinct. Animals do not feel sad, and as far as we know only humans and primates are self aware.

Hunger isn't an emotion, much like how pain isn't an emotion. Most animals are un-self-aware. There's something called the "mirror-test" to test which species are self-aware. Basically, you put something on the animals fur and make them look in a mirror. Most animals(including cats and dogs) don't realize it's them when they stare into a mirror, but the ones that see what's on their fur and get it off are the ones that are self-aware. Here is a list of self-aware animals:
Bonobos, chimpanzees, orangutans, gorillas, humans, bottlenose dolphins, Orcas, elephants and European Magpies
However, that's not to say that animals don't have emotion. There's not enough evidence in that particular field of animal science to say whether or not animals truly do have emotions.
The ape thing could actually be the same, it doesn't know how to fend for itself anymore, but who knows.
fear is an emotion
You can argue that fear is an instinct, to be afraid of what can destroy you.
You could also argue that love is an instinct related to finding a suitable partner, mating and raising a child.
What's the difference between emotion and instinct?
Getting angry for being punched out of nowhere seems like an instinctual response. Getting angry for something like losing a game seems like an emotional response. Is the difference just the time you have to think about it? When getting punched your response is quick, when playing a game you can slowly build your anger...So how quick does it have to be for it to be an instinct instead of an emotion?
Not really, you can argue that finding a MATE is that, but LOVE, the loving of someone's company, not just sex is a true emotion.
Love is a chemical process happening in your brains. Why do we feel love? Because we've evolved like that. Everything about our brains is complex, as is our way of finding and getting attached to our mating partner.

I was really scraping for emotions to list, I didn't want to make a list of a single emotion so...

He may have a special bond with you and not another person he lives with and shows you love. You beat the shit out of it, it's going to be terrified of you. Etc...
I don't know, it's definitely not the same kind of emotions that we have, but I wouldn't say it's just instinct.
lol, yes you have
you're simply trying to look hardass to your internet "friends" (we aren't)

Yeah, certain breeds of dog are self aware. And when I think back at all those sad dog stories, it really does seem like they have human emotions. Although I honestly believe we should judge that in the animals own terms, not a humans.
Uh.. so what's up with that tumor OP? Techically it should screw with all your emotions.
fear is an emotion
fear is an instinct.
Anything that's purpose is to help you survive is an instinct.
im p sure wikipedia says it's an emotion
no breed of dog is self aware, do you even know what that means?
go put a dog in front of a mirror, it'll try to play with/intimidate its refletion

Happiness, depression, sadness, love, all of that isn't something to keep us alive.
