That is no where close to our immigration policy. We accept a small number of people each year, and the test is fuckin' rigorous. I had a cleaning lady who used to go to my house, she came on a Visa and got kicked out. She has been trying to get back into this country for Ten-Fucking-Years. That is ridiculous.
"Lol, srry u were born in a h3ll h0l3, better luck next tim3."
That is ridiculous. Get rid of the concept of the 'illegal immigrant'. If someone wants to become a citizen, it should be a quick, free process. We don't have to be so heartless.
Oh nvm your a relatively new alt made just for this thread.
Yea I predicted that this thread would be made seven months ago when I made my account.
And it is not ridiculous at all. There is a legal way to get into the country and there is an illegal way. We need to protect our own before we try and help other people. How many homeless people are here? Or people without jobs?
I should give a shit about another shit hole country, why?
I say send predator drones to the border and blow the fuck out of them. Send their ass's to back to Mexico in pieces.
If they still try then their deaths are on them.
Immigrants are always complaining
I have never once in my life met a single immigrant that wasn't proud to be living in this country.
i had fun immigrating to the usa, i moved here 8 years ago (when i was 7) and just finally got my greencard, im not a terrorist and i speak english and stuff, learned it by 4th grade. i couldn't see my grandma this christmas because of the immigration thing, and i haven't seen her for like 5 years.
Since Mexico is a large issue with immigration, I will use them. There are a lot of Mexican and other Latin American residents who could find a better life in the US. They're honest, hard-working people. If I were president, would I let them in? Sure. But as mentioned above, there are also gangs, smugglers, and drug trafficking operations who want in on the US crime world as well. In practicality, it is impossible to efficiently discern between the two. That is why problems arise and why we have to be tight asses about who we let in.
You can never make sure they will 'try to be honest'. I was born into this country without so much as having to take the pledge of allegiance. What is stopping me from shooting up a school or going on a killing spree?
The fear of 'immigrants' is an irrational one. If someone wants to attack our country, they will do so. The same bars are on me buying a weapon and shooting someone as if an immigrant sneaks in and does the same thing.
MY ideal border system would be a system of checks. People could line up to come into America if they so choose, they would be patted down, checked for drugs, ect. Then if everything was right, would be directed down the line to fill out the paperwork to become a citizen. Once all the paper-work would be in order, bam. Legal citizen.
As for the jobs issue. New citizens may lead to a larger work force, but it would also lead to more profits. More people means more needs. More citizens to work yes, but also more to buy. The new citizens would also pay taxes which would buff up the economy with the new influx. Some may even start up businesses (Andrew Carnegie was an immigrant, let us not forget).
Nothing is stopping you. Of course, you are less likely to have a good reason to shoot up a school. People who hate America, however, do. And who hates America? People who don't live in America who are part of terrorist organizations. How do we stop people who hate America from hurting America? We keep them out. How do we do this? By having the system we have now. Potential attacks have probably been stopped already. You see the news. The chances of a terrorist attack are higher now than they have been in years. Letting in more people certainly won't make this chance go down.
System of checks, eh? You make sure they don't have drugs and then you do paperwork.
NEWS FLASH: That's what they do now. Lots and lots of paperwork. You can't just say "Alright, no drugs, nothing could possibly go wrong, off you go." The background checks are in place for a good reason. So people don't die.
The new citizens then pay taxes? With what money? Most of these people are probably penniless.
"But what about jobs?" New citizens lead to a larger work force. That's all fine and dandy, but there's a slight problem: There are no jobs to make a work force out of. If long time citizens who were born and have been educated here are having trouble getting jobs, then how are millions of new people with no recognized education and no money going to get jobs?

Fuck all of them, we should get armed guards standing on the borders and the second anyone steps across the border take it as an act of aggression and shoot the fuckers. That way we wont have anymore border jumpers getting in and anyone who wants in will have to go through the proper legal process.

but that's just me and I don't mean to say every immigrant.
Sorry.
I know not all immigrants are like that.

I'd like to add to this that they should learn English. I moved here, learned English, and I'm damn happy with it.
This thread makes my immigrant heart cry.

Drug dealers get in anyway. It would be Just as hard to sneak drugs into the united states if we allowed people to be citizens that if we didn't.
We have enough people living in the slums and committing crimes. Does that mean we should send them all back to Africa?

Your concept of the 'legal way' is a nativist approach to foriegn policy. We only allow a few people into the country. The reason people sneak into America is, just as you said, because our country is so great. They want the chance at the 'American Dream'.
"lol, better luck next tyme" is the common response.
There should be no such thing as an 'illegal immigrant'. If you want to become a citizen of a country, you should be allowed to be one. People shouldn't be forced into sneaking into this country.

Just as not every American wants to kill someone, not every foreigner does too. I can still hate my country and live in it, people do that all the time. The Washington Snipers were American citizens. Were they serial killers or islamic extremists? Does it matter? They killed people.
Let. The. People. In. There is no NEED for a system of checks. If they DON'T have drugs on them now, they should be allowed in. If they are CAUGHT WITH DRUGS when the moment comes then they will be dealt with accordingly.
There will be NO UNIQUE DIFFERENCE between a system where we don't put harsh-caps and entry requirements on our immigration and one where we do. Crime will happen in both worlds. Taxes will be payed when they get the JOBS they need.
Current illegal immigrants get jobs, if they were legal citizens they'd be getting jobs and also paying taxes.

If sending them back removes the majority of the problem, then yes.
Keeps the standard of living for the rest of us in check.
If there was an influx of (poor) people from other countries, they would just feed off the system, and the increasing void of poor people in other countries could possibly increase the cost of goods.

I know quite a few immigrants from varying places, from London to Central America, and they all love the shit out of this country. Almost to a passion, really. Thing is, if people hate America they typically don't stick around given they're free to fuckin leave.

It took me 8 years to get my Greencard, it took my mom something like 13 years to get one. More restrictions? Why don't you try immigrating from a country that sucks, where you don't even have a paved road in front of your house and spend years waiting to get the same rights that some low life drug dealer or other criminal was born into?

People are what make a country.
If a bunch of people abandon a sinking ship of a country to go to another, what happens to the country they flee to?
My friend brought up that point.

hahahhhahhhahah
i feel sorry for americans they want to be taken seriously and then have people like that
even if he is a troll he still reflects some people that exist
I actually am an imigrant too, I was born in Peru, but my dad got an offer for a job here and all my family(Parents and brothers) came here.
I fucking love where I live now, if we had stayed in Peru I probably wouldnt be talking right now because we would still live in our small house there, the difference is that we were invited here, and we didnt had to start from zero.
I cant even imagine the things that you have to endure to begin a life from zero in a country you know jack shit off, but I guess that if you pull it through you end up loving the country because it gave you a chance that in your country you might never had.
This is probably the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
I know you're new to the country and have yet to reap the full benefits of American education but you cannot hear words typed onto a computer unless you use a voice program. The correct term would be "This is probably the stupidest thing I have ever read."
