I am glad that you are doing good foszor keep in there I am sure you can make it. Interesting looks like your brain is already trying to cope with the tumor. Now please do not die on us, I have cookies if you promise.
Op, why do you scare me :( ?
Oddly enough, they found out the part of my brain that controls speech (which happens to be where the cancer is) has started moving itself to a fresh location. My surgeon was really impressed he says that normally peoples brains don't do that unless they've had a removal done... which I didn't.
Holy shit. The brain is an amazing thing...
Glad to hear you're still with us bud, keep fighting that cancer bro
Good to hear that you're doing well man. Good luck to you. Looking forward to your next post all ready, keep on fighting man.

In your blog post you said the fMRI will decide if it's worth it to start slicing away. So, is it?

I also did a different type of MRI before that, it's called a Functional MRI. Basically they do an MRI while giving you different number, letter, word, etc questions. The idea is to determine how my brain is functioning. Oddly enough, they found out the part of my brain that controls speech (which happens to be where the cancer is) has started moving itself to a fresh location. My surgeon was really impressed he says that normally peoples brains don't do that unless they've had a removal done... which I didn't.
Sounds like it's not?
Semi-related, I got an MRI of my brain and it showed a cyst, but my neurologist says it is fine, though I'm going for a week study where they will induce seizures in me and try to find if there is a certain portion of my brain that is screwing up.
Inducing seizures? That sounds terrifying!

Its weird because where the protons go in, they go through my smell and taste receptors of my brain, so I can "taste" and "smell" the beam as it hits me. It horrible. It smells like some sort of metallic ink or something. It makes me sick to my stomach even talking about it. The weirder part is it really doesn't smell or have any flavor, its just my brain reacting to the radiation particles. So even if I hold my breath to try to avoid the smell, its still there.
Holy shit. That's fucking crazy.
Keep pushing man!.
Keep fighting Foszor! Keep fighting so you can be there for your wife and kids.
[sp]Just before I was born, my father was diagnosed with brain cancer...unfortunately the diagnosis was too late. He was only there for the first year of my life, if not less. Sadly, I don't have any memories of my first year of life.[/sp]
Good luck, bro.
I'm likely the 1000th person who's said this, and I'm just stumbling onto this thread, but studies have shown that medicinal pot has a huge effect on brain tumors especially, because cannabinoids promote proper cell death and can permeate the brain-blood barrier. I'm sure you've discussed this with your doctor, but if you haven't, you should.
Incoming huge photos of my radiation treatment room and me:

Not to be impolite or anything.. But that doctor reminds me of Foreman from House MD.
What are the side effects (if any) of this treatment?

Oh and by the way, your blog is really good. You write with a lot of clarity and emotion.
When my brother went through chemo, he would tell me it felt like his body was burning from the inside out and it made him feel more nauseous than anything else in his life. But he went through it on a lot of areas of his body, not sure what it's like when it's focused on the brain.

Was he alright?

Well, the area of my head they are shooting the proton particles into is starting to lose hair... so I guess that's a side effect :(
I took a shower today and I had a clump of hair in my hand.

I just hope everything is okay for the OP. :ohdear:
OP's last activity was 6 hours ago, so I'll assume everything went ok, which is good.
I hate to ask this, but does anyone know the cost of a MRI in the states if you don't have insurance?

I'm glad this thread got bumped.. I am hoping for nothing but the best for Sir Brandon through this whole ordeal, and it's been so long since the blog got an update
