The host, as already mentioned, is worth seeing Also Old Boy, and othe films by the director Park Chan-wook (Sympathy for Mr. Vengance is incredible, but quite disturbing) Also i would suggest 'The Good, The Bad and The Weird', which was on at Cannes. Basically I find Korean movies better than Japanese ones...

I love Jackie Chan movies (favorites include Police Story and Armour of God). You also can't go wrong with anything by Chan-wook Park. His vengeance trilogy is brilliant.

I have now obtained the complete Bruce Lee filmography. Guess what I'll be doing with some mates this weekend :D I have also got a lot of the other suggestions, haven't seen any yet though due to work. I think this is a great way to start of with watching all those new movies, even if they aren't Asian movies per se.

Guitar Wolf: Wild Zero. Crazy awesome film, best b-movie ever. Stars a real Japanese band. It has everything you could want. It has: zombies, lots of gore, guns, head-popping headshots, motorbikes with fire spurting out the exhaust, a black asian guy that can shoot lasers out his eyes, aliens, chainsmoking, Guitar-katanas, zombie-love, transsexuals, transsexual zombies, awesome leather jackets, mafia and most importantly, really fucking awesome hair.

Infection (a.k.a. Kansen) Fucking amazing Japanese movie.

Kung Fu Hustle Shaolin Soccer War of the Three Kingdoms The Luckiest Man And most of these movies are made by my country (Hong Kong) except for War of the Three Kingdoms which is mandarin.
