I've never had any of this
I have ALOT of floaters.
Should i go to the doctor >_>
Holy shit, didn't realize what I had actually had a name (Visual Snow)
On that visual snow simulator, in the lighter scenes i see like maybe density 10, flicker 5
at night, its more like density 20 flicker 3. It sucks bad, I can barely drive at night.
What exactly are floaters? They kinda look like bacteria, but it's probably just dust or something boring like that. Oh look! There's one now!

probably not enough sleep
[QUOTE=geel9;20464566]If "starbursts" are long rays of light extending from light sources, I get them.
[editline]03:25AM[/editline]
But only if I squint. Which is weird.[/QUOTE]
That's your eye lashes?
[editline]12:18AM[/editline]
I notice it when I'm stoned.
I seriously thought when I was up to 10 that I could see invisible shit, because I thought the floaters were UFOs and I would point at them and my parents would just laugh at me for saying that something was there.
I got Snow density 4... Is that bad?
I have tinnitus from loud music and guns. It's kinda loud in one ear but I'll get used to it.
I get floaters when I do a headstand
i dont get floaters nor visual snow
Floaters are a bitch.
I only have visual noise, moreso at night or other dark areas. I can't seem to look directly at anything in the dark, I always have to look at something I'm trying to look for with the corner of my eyes else it's faded out.
I don't really get the visual static thing unless I'm in a very dark room.
And I've had the exact same pattern of floaters in my vision ever since I was a small child.
The starbursts and after-image things have also been with me my whole life.
[editline]06:56PM[/editline]
And I get tinnitus off and on when I'm in a dead silent room.
I get starburst when not wearing my glasses. I get floaters all the time. Used to give them names when I was young.
[editline]09:57PM[/editline]
Shut up.
So is starburst like when you squint your eyes while looking at a light?
Sorry for the bump, but has any one found a way to reduce visual snow?
It is starting to get very annoying because it makes it so that I can't see much in the dark.
It is really bad when there is a difference in light. For instance, if I try to look at something over the top of my monitor right now, there is so much visual snow above it that I can't make out anything. A similar thing happens when driving at night.
I've had 1 or 2 floaters in the middle of my right eye for about a year and a half now. It's always the same ones, and they never go away. I've had it checked out a couple of times and they couldn't find anything.
It's really fucking annoying.
whenever I get floaters I try to look at them but they always run away from the center of my vision
I used to (When I was in first grade) have [b]severe[/b] visual snow, to the point my parents thought I had cancer (I told them the colors of the snow and they thought I was hallucinating). We went to the hospital and apparently I just had a very bad case of visual snow. Eventually it got more and more mild and I learned to ignore it.
Snow Density 11, Flicker Rate 1, pretty good, but I see floaters, starbursts and I get tinnitus and after images. Is that bad Dr. Facepunch?
Oh, so it is called a floater, i thought it was my dad's sperm or something.

All of you have probably had the enjoyment to this screen as a kid and thinking all sorts of stuff about it, for one it is a world filled with snow, for others it's a battlefield with black against white.
But for some it's the reality to live in that very screen 24/7, and that hell is called visual snow.

Wikipedia's definition of visual snow:
Visual snow is a transitory or persisting visual symptom where people see snow or television-like static in parts or the whole of their visual fields, especially against dark backgrounds. It is much like camera noise in low light conditions.
The severity or density of the "snow" differs from one person to the next; in some circumstances, it can inhibit a person's daily life, making it difficult to read, see in detail and focus correctly.
There are different causes for visual snow, i.e., visual snow is a non-specific symptom. Therefore, each subject with a leading complaint of visual snow needs a full diagnostic work-up including ophthalmic, neurological and psychiatric examinations as well as an MRI scan of the brain.
However, test results for people suffering from the condition often all come back as normal with no underlying conditions found, and no cause known. Little medical research is taking place on the condition.
There are also several other symptoms that people have that suffer from visual snow.
Those are:
Floaters [img_thumb]http://en.bloguru.com/PSP/Vendors/04661/2007/0466120071002102131.png[/img_thumb]
They pop up now and then and move along with the movement of your eyes.
Starburts [img_thumb]http://i47.tinypic.com/mhud5z.jpg[/img_thumb]
Light beams or a glow from every bloody light source imaginable.
After images, not need for a picture to describe it. It means you see certain images again after you have seen them.
Tinnitus, is the perception of sound within the human ear in the absence of corresponding external sound. example [url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE5fIoveLoM[/url] What the girl says is correct, you hear it 24/7.
And there are many more symptoms that may correlate to visual snow.
You may ask yourself after this, why the hell did he bother making this. Well after a while it started bugging me quite a lot. It has gotten so far as that I can't sleep cause the static is making me insane.
And of course seeing other people talk about it makes you feel a lot more comfortable, knowing you're not all alone in snowstorm.
Update: Useful website I found that can simulate how much snow you're seeing.

Mine are: Snow density 8 and flicker rate 4.
TL/DR: I see static 24/7.[/QUOTE]
Driving you insane, you say? Just don't kill yourself like that guy who killed himself because he went blind/deaf(Can't remember which).
[QUOTE=Craptasket;20464606]open your eyes after too.[/QUOTE]
Almost forgot this part and couldn't see for hours

[QUOTE=Archonet;26441932]Driving you insane, you say? Just don't kill yourself like that guy who killed himself because he went blind/deaf(Can't remember which).[/QUOTE]
a family member stopped him
as usual
when I was younger I used to push my thumbs on my eyes to make rainbow snow
I get starbursts all the time at night, it's really irritating.
I see floaters occasionally. When I was young I thought they were signals from aliens.
I thought seeing light beams from every light source was normal, damn.
