Let's be real, here. Most American made bolt guns since 1945 are just fancy K98s because we have massive hardons for the Mauser actions and finally got our hands on enough to not piss Germany off too much in making new ones that were similar to them.
I just meant that it's more like a mauser than a mosin
Other than what Pruss said, how are R700s and Mausers similar? You're not giving a good justification or explanation on why the are similar other than being bolt actions.
They aren't, I was wrong. :v: I just never meant to imply that it was a Mauser action.
Opinion time: wanting to get a paddle release for my CETME along with a proper trigger job from this guy. I'll ask my local shop first if they can do it but what are your thoughts?

My brother in law just ND'ed with a .45ACP :v:
How would one go about putting one of those smaller underfolding bipods on a C39 AK?
I think every gun owner will have a ND at some point, it's just a matter of whether or not you're following all the rest of the safety rules so nobody gets hurt when it happens. (and not being too proud to admit you fucked up) Happened to me on the range with my AR-15 - I thought I cleared it but the extractor missed the chambered round. I figured it was empty (couldn't see the case at a quick glance) and pulled the trigger to drop the hammer. Gun was pointed downrange so all that happened was a surprise bang. It's easy to get complacent and assume you did it right but I've triple checked since then.
My brother in law just ND'ed with a .45ACP :v:
My dad NDed at his work, close enough to his thigh to rip his jeans. The bullet went through his desk, through the wall into the bathroom and missed the toilet by a centimeter and stopped in the next wall. Crazy how just only not even an inch he could have blown a hole in his thigh and would've had to buy a new toilet. :goodjob:

I mean you are at the range, pointed down range, and you intentionally pull the trigger to ensure the gun isn't in a position to fire any longer. It isn't all that negligent.
I count it as negligent because it could've happened anywhere else and if I hadn't been on point with safety procedures I could've killed someone by not adequately checking if it was hot.
Got a letter today saying I've been approved for my pistol permit. I gotta go to the clerk tomorrow morning and sign some stuff. Pretty sure it's unrestricted so I can CC it. Hopefully I can get my permit tomorrow (They may still have to mail it) and get my Glock 19 and probably buy a S&W Bodyguard.

Follow all safety protocols and these issues don't happen. I've never seen a ND that led to the conclusion that it couldn't be avoided or wasn't user error. Guns are machines, they only do what we tell them to do. Every case of ND usually is the result of a safety step being ignored, maintenance being ignored, and general dumbassery which points back to the user. I've personally never had a ND and don't think i will. I treat every gun as if it is loaded regardless of what I know or assume. I can put a gun in my safe and leave it for a year. Before i put it in i cleared it and made sure it was safe. When I pull it out a year later i check to see if it is clear and safe. When I'm at the range I often use chamber flags to show it is clear. It also helps me remember what guns I've checked and what ones I have not checked. I usually take all my guns to the range. Even with the chamber flags I'll check before storing and transport. As for gear like holsters and such, i usually test them after their clear the gun to make sure nothing can snag or cause a discharge. At any point I feel my holster or gear is to worn out I'll replace it. Most discharges in holsters are due to fault holster or worn out holster. Or improper holstering and drawing. Safety as a universal rule is easy and takes very little time, once you start taking shortcuts then you get people hurt. Goes with any hobby or job.

The alternative was to move States and honestly, aside from the bullshit gun laws I'm pretty content with NY I guess. I live in one of the better Pro-2nd-A counties so I'll live for now.

Congrats. But wouldn't it have been easier and a lot less irritating to move to a freedom-loving, not communist state?
Everyone here is already on a watch list. I'm just an A-lister.
Pst. You're not a cool kid 'till your in the deck o' cards mate.
Sending off my rifle tomorrow for some work. Hopefully it will be a relatively quick turnaround.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/pgtwyo.jpg[/t] I bought 500 rounds, put 250 through it today. I carried it on me, hung out with my friends, went to grab something to eat. It's a tad too big for my body type, the grip sticks out enough that if I bend over you'd see it but until I get another gun it'll have to do. I just ordered a Alien Gear IWB holster. Also bought a gun safe for my truck, some snap caps, SERPA holster. And I purchased a S&W Bodyguard. I gotta go to the Clerks Office tomorrow and hand in the amendment but once I get my S&W I'm probably going to carry it religiously since it's small enough not to get in the way or anything. I want to get my PA non-resident permit but the closest PA county to me stopped accepting them.
So how about a rolling block action rifle chambered for .357 Mag, chopped at 16 inches, OAL 34 inches, fitted with an A-Tec pistol suppressor and a ghost ring/fibre sight setup?
That sounds... interesting... Show us more...
