It's a Palmetto State Armory collapsible stock. I'll check Amazon for the front one. [editline]21st August 2015[/editline] http://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Detach-Button-Swivel-Picatinny/dp/B00C38ETQI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1440204157&sr=8-2&keywords=qd+sling+mount&pebp=1440204161816&perid=1KP3QRMC8B6VEVP26A1G I had this one and it won't stay on my shoulder.

Nothing turned up in a google search.
Yeah it's a normal M4 stock. The rear part is fine, the PoS loop I got for the front falls out of the mounted part with any weight applied.
Actually i'm looking at your picture on the other page. That looks like a QD cup to me. Try something like this if you want to go the QD route. If you look around you can probably find one without the swivel which will probably be cheaper, but I don't know for sure.
Yeah the rear part is but my issue was the one mounted up front. The rear part is totally fine and doesn't fall out. For the front I don't even need it to swivel. Just need a loop mounted to the rail. Above link is a little pricey, at least for what it does (in my opinion).
Am I a complete moron for using 0000 steel wool to remove light rust from one of my rifles? I noticed some really fine scratches in the bluing, but I suppose that I can fix that with some perma blue. The rust is mostly gone now, though. I saw the vinegar suggestion and also saw that it tends to destroy the finish as well.

That looks pretty solid though.
Airsoft quality is ok for stuff like sling swivels as long as they're metal. Airsoft foregrips are usually ok too, the base just needs to be metal so it won't warp.
Airsoft parts and firearms shouldn't be mixed together. Quality is different and the testing is different. Put parts made for guns that are actually tested on guns on guns.
Here's my new Howa 1500 in .223 and the Nikko-Stirling Gameking 4-16x44 waiting on the gunsmith's bench at work to be mounted. I'm planning to drop by tomorrow at noon to get it, even though I'm not working and in the next day. [t]http://i.imgur.com/EM4UBCG.jpg[/t]

Most airsoft stuff that's metal is zinc alloy, AKA pot metal, and tends to be really weak. For anything that will be stressed you definitely shouldn't assume airsoft is okay just because it's metal. I've never seen an airsoft sling mount break in a game, so you'd probably be fine, but it's a cheap enough part that you might as well get something you can trust. The quality and testing of your average Tapco accessory is certainly not higher than most airsoft gear.

As a casual shooter I'd feel fine with airsoft-grade foregrips and shit like that. Sling swivels are a simple enough concept that I wouldn't expect an airsoft sling swivel to be any more prone to breaking than a "real steel" one. I don't personally use any airsoft parts on my real guns but only because the only one I could do it with is my AR-15, and it's set up the way I want it anyway. If I wanted a sling on it I don't think I'd pay $40 for a "real" swivel.
Pretty, makes a good truck gun
I don't think we have the same idea of what a truck gun is for [editline]22nd August 2015[/editline] speaking of truck gun I bought this sporterized mauser about 2 years ago to build into a truck gun and I think I'm probably going to go ahead and start on that project. I'm essentially just going to cut the barrel down to 16.5 inches and get some iron sights on it [t]http://imgkk.com/i/g2w3.jpg[/t]
I would never buy something like that, because I'd want to restore it too badly to do anything practical with it.
I tossed around the idea of restoring it for a long time but honestly they made a buttload of them and the bolt in this one doesn't match anyway. plus whoever sporterized it got rid of the front sight by cutting off an inch or two of barrel and there's nothing I can do to fix that. other than get a new barrel, and then neither the barrel nor the bolt would match. I think I paid $130 for it, which is a steal for a german made gun whether it's got historical value or not I consider this gun a total loss for history buffs, but a hard hitting quick pointing lightweight rifle for short range hunting and dispatching of 4 legged and 2 legged predators is about as close to perfect as it gets. if I can keep it shooting I consider that a win on it's own.
Yeah I totally understand that, but it'd still kill me.
Now I wanna buy 2 K98's, sporterize one and keep the other one historic.
anyone here into lockpicking? I figure if anyone on facepunch is, it's gotta be one of you guys. firearms and prepping go hand in hand, and lockpicking is a good skill for preppers [t]http://imgkk.com/i/3k6d.jpg[/t][t]http://imgkk.com/i/egxb.jpg[/t] a buddy gave me this Sesamee, and this fucker took me nearly 10 minutes to get open. I dissect it and find that it's not a 5 pinner, but a 6 pinner, with the last pin riding on the point at the end of the key, and that it's got threaded chambers in both the core and the bible, varying spring tensions, 4 serrated key pins and one T (why a t? what the fuck), 3 of the deepest cut spools I've ever seen, an inverted spool, a fucking screw acting as a T pin, and a standard out of a master just to make those spools even more annoying
Yeah I have a lockpick in case SHTF too. It's called a 12 gauge.

Same thing with blowing out walls. Some would say that's a hole in the wall, I call it a fire escape. You get a cookie if you get the reference.
Got the scope mounted today and gave the gun a once-over with a boresnake, a patch, and some CLP. [t]http://i.imgur.com/fPXwel1.jpg[/t]
opening a door isn't exactly a slow process.
Well, now to wait. I ordered a new AK center support, and found an ejector rail that I had spare that I need to buff a little rust off of and clean. In total, a $15.15 fix.
