There's a gunshow on Sunday I might go to, planning to bring a bit of cash and see if there's anything that piques my interest.
I love 5.56 and completely dislike .300 blk but putting 5.56 through a suppressor is so fucking useless. it's one of the loudest rounds you can get not because of the relatively small muzzle blast, but because it fucks the sound barrier so hard. if you get subsonic 5.56 it'll just be .22lr but cost 30 times more
yea I agree. The only real advantage to .300blk is some marginal ballistic advantages and it runs well out a suppressor.
I plan on getting a suppressor for my 5.56 guns as soon as I'm eligible, but it's going to be one of those oil can adapters; it'll be more for fun than it will be for practicality.

I'm going to one near here. Hoping I can find a stock for the AK, and hope to sell my wood furniture set. If I can't find a stock I like there, I'll just order the MOE.
Its a Franchi, made in Italy. I typed that under the picture!
No worries though, & yes, Id love to see a pic. I love o/u shotguns!
Yes, I can read. I was thinking of Ithaca, I have an Ithaca marked SKB 600 shotgun, it looks identical to yours. I also have a Franchi, and thus I got the two confused.

Don't bother. They have to stamp the oil filter itself, and it will cost you $100 bucks every time you want a new filter put on it, because it has to go back to the manufacturer. That is of course if you want to do it legally.
If you want a good suppressor for 5.56 on the cheap, Huntertown Arms is your Jam.
if you want a good suppressor for cheap build a maglite suppressor

Just a question to all the American gun owners in this thread, what would you do if the second amendment was repealed by a bunch of corrupt/dumb congressmen and the banned firearm ownership and started to arrest people who owned them/went door to door with search warrants?
Can't happen. The only way to repeal an Amendment is by adding another one. That takes a 2/3rds majority in both houses of Congress and 2/3rds of the state's governors agreeing to it.
What they do instead is try to chip away at it with laws banning specific types of firearms "for our own safety," which hasn't been doing so well as of late.

Can't happen and won't happen. Even if you get some evil dastardly congress and senate and president that somehow repeals the 2nd amendment overnight, they'd have between 50 and 200 million pissed off Americans to deal with.
I wish GSG would suck it up and produce an STG44 in 7.62x39 or even the original 7.92. I'd drop everything and buy one immediately.
e: Apparently the STG receiver is a really complicated stamping and I didn't realize 7.62 was so much longer than 7.92.
There's only a couple of things I miss from the FDF.
Friends and guns. I might start biathlon as a hobby.

Why not just get the one from Sport Systeme Dittrich?
[editline]28th January 2015[/editline]
I can get their MKb-42 here, and some people have the StG, it pops up on the market from time to time.
The price tag is a bit high. I'd buy a muscle car instead for that kind of money.
e: Also it looks like they were denied an import license to the US anyway.

One thing I've learned is that you should never say something can't happen because it can, that's why it exists in the first place.
One thing I've learned is that you should never say something can't happen because it can, that's why it exists in the first place.
Unless you create a time machine or magneto appears on the scene and takes away everyones guns and turns it into a giant katamari murderball, it can't happen.
There'd be another civil war before you'd disarm the US.
If you attempted to disarm the American populace, there would be a civil war. You have 80-100 million gun owners, plus their supporters, vs a relatively small force, who would thin out as they either gave up switched sides, etc.
There'd be riots but I don't see there being a civil war
One thing I've learned is that you should never say something can't happen because it can, that's why it exists in the first place.
It still wouldn't happen. You're not going to convince 2/3rd of voters to agree to a new amendment over firearms. Plus, have you heard about our Congress? Fuckers can't do anything with a super majority.
There'd be riots but I don't see there being a civil war
Riots usually turn into revolution when it comes to big issues.
Just ask Ukraine and Syria.
Fixed my Mossberg 500 persuader today, it was having troubles feeding, so I had to ever so slightly bend my cartridge interrupter assembly, feeds like a dream now.

I think the only other STG clones ever produced were in 7.92x33 (a whole 6mm shorter than 7.62x39) and they were about $5K as well.
I have a real hankering for one of those FG42 repros. Too bad they also run upwards of $5k
Anyone seen this?
Basically a guy who spent 2 years in 2nd Commando (doesn't that seem unusually short?) is saying that the reason a hostage died is probably because the police used 'overpowered' M4 carbines when they should have used MP5s to reduce the risk of ricochet and over penetration. The guy sounds like an idiot.
Update: I called my my County Sheriff's Office. I'm going to get a call back since the people that would be able to answer my question about silenced weapons aren't in right now.

I can see how this conversation will go
"Are suppressors illegal in this county?"
"Dood you realize we're in Texas right?"

It's kind of funny because I got hopped around 3 different times before they said that the people that could give me a correct answer wasn't in and took my info to call me back.

Most Swat teams have moved from the MP5 to AR-type rifles BECAUSE 5.56 has less of a problem with overpenetration. Box O Truth showed 9mm could penetrate through I think twice as many sheets of drywall as 5.56, because of it has more than twice the mass.
that's why I love 5.56, it gets all it's power from velocity and on impact slows down to a point where it would be mostly useless if it hit anything beyond the target. there's something to slow and heavy rounds but I'd much rather have the fast and light round for 99% of the shooting I do.
