just get a holster for your spray
NY State should split from NY City.
just get a holster for your spray
Can't find any and getting one made would be expensive and is super complicated because I can't ship my pepper spray out of state to have custom kydex holster made around it and shit and fuck this State etc. etc. Also the curved thick cylinder shape isn't a very good shape to have stuck in your waistband. [editline]5th October 2015[/editline]
NY State should split from NY City.
Absolutely 100% agree. According to your profile you're from Australia and even YOU see that NYC and NYS are two completely different things. Like 90% of NYS are rural farmer type who like their guns. But because the 10% worth of NYC have a disproportional amount of people, politicians and everything else they get to pass all our laws and drag us all down. Not to mention the fact that the rest of the State practically pays NYC taxes and funds their projects, utilities etc. and whenever anything fucking happens like a localized disaster they take ALL OF OUR SERVICES and send them to the city so we don't get our power turned back on for 3+ weeks because all our local utility guys and first responders are in NYC.
I know this is the firearms place but I figure you guys may have an opinion. You ever see these Kimber Pepper Blasters? [t]https://i.gyazo.com/0d7321b10250781f5ba8c21934b76570.png[/t] I'm thinking about getting one. I want something non-lethal to escalate too that's you know, not my gun. The only shitty things I see about this is it only has two aimed shots and if you miss the face you're fucked. If you hit the face, it's incredibly effective. I have the spray-kind but I have literally no where accessible to keep it so it's hardly even an option half the time. With the blasters they sell Kydex IWB holster so I could put it on my weak side and draw it if I had too but still keep my right hand free to go for my gun if that didn't end up working. For $30 plus $30 for a holster I'm not sure if it's worth it. Seems like it's really easy to just miss and get yourself killed. [editline]5th October 2015[/editline] Honestly before SafeAct NY was fine. They had grandfathered 30 round mags, legal AR's and all kinds of other stuff. The only thing that was shitty was the pistol permit system. Now we can't have mags over 10 rounds, no AR's and the pistol permit system is still shit. Oh and I can't order ammo online anymore. Thanks Cuomo.
My dad has one Never used it, but he seems to like it.
Be aware that attempting to use non-lethal self-defense methods while armed with a firearm can present some serious issues, both practical and legal. Practically, if your pepper spray fails to incapacitate an attacker and he gets close to you, you are in danger of losing control of your firearm. Legally, if you do have to use your handgun, you are guaranteeing that a prosecutor is going to ask why you didn't use the pepper spray you had on your belt instead. These are issues that cops face, but they have the benefit of a sympathetic court system. I understand why you want a non-lethal option and I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, just keep these things in mind. IIRC you work loss prevention at a clothing store. Are you sure you need both pepper spray and a handgun to safely handle shoplifters, and is it worth the attendant risk?

Why is it taking a part of Oregon with it?
On November 27, 1941, a group of young men gained national media attention when, brandishing hunting rifles for dramatic effect, they stopped traffic on U.S. Route 99 south of Yreka, the county seat of Siskiyou County, and handed out copies of a Proclamation of Independence, stating that the state of Jefferson was in "patriotic rebellion against the States of California and Oregon" and would continue to "secede every Thursday until further notice."[7]
Imagine how fast they would get arrested if someone tried that today

I never considered these things but you're absolutely right and considering the drawbacks and general difficulty of even carrying an alternative defensive device I don't think I'm going to carry one. I think I may still buy a Pepper-Blaster and a Kydex Holster so when I go to NJ or if I ever have to go to NYC I can bring them since it's illegal for me to bring my CCW. At least I won't be entirely defenseless. Pretty sure Pepper-spray and shit like that is illegal in NYC and NJ too but I figure it's not as loud or violent as a gun so as long as I can get away from the trouble I'll just keep going. Tried by twelve better than carried by six sort of thing, right?
IIRC you work loss prevention at a clothing store. I'm good at it and I think it's a lot of fun but nothing in that store is worth me using a firearm or pepper spray to defend it. I usually just stop them, give chase and call the Police. I haven't put hands on anyone since all my partners quit. Honestly I've never actually felt in danger stopping shoplifters. Even the couple times I had to fuck around and wrestle with them. The only time I'm ever really worried about hurting myself is when I gotta dig around in their pockets or bags since naturally every shoplifter is a "diabetic" and has needles.
I tore the K98 down. Every numbered part matches; everything not numbered (subcontractor parts) is correctly stamped for a late war rifle. Stock has a waffenamt stamped on the inside. Looks like it's all correct.
Just finished coating the metal in renwax. I cut my fingers repeatedly on the stamped components.

At the very least it's safer, legally, than carrying a knife or baton, especially if you need to use it. To be honest, though, I'd put more effort into making sure you know the area you're going to, and avoid being out after dark or in sketchy places. Better to be smart about your circumstances than to put yourself in a situation where you need self-defense. To be honest, you stay 'in-character' with the hard-boiled-detective shtick enough that it's sometimes hard to tell how much is satire and how much is serious.
I.O. might start making PSL clones. This will most likely be over priced scrap and not a decent clone. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/10/06/o-inc-factory-visit/
I'm happy to report my Glock 19 Gen 4 is fixed. So as a recap the initial problem: Erratic Ejection across all variety of brand and grain ammunition. Two to three Brass-To-Face Ejections per mag causing burns and general discomfort. So I tried a LOT of stuff but here is what finally got it working for me: Brand new stock Trigger Housing with 30274 Ejector Brand new Extractor-LCI with new spring, guide and rod. Glockmeister 15LB Recoil Spring Assembly So I started off by replacing the ejector and extractor by themselves. With 115gr UMC I got BTF, I also got BTF with 124gr Winchester and 147gr Winchester. Although I did note an improvement in general with higher grain bullets. BTF were relatively uncommon now with anything other than UMC but they still happened frequently enough to require more tinkering. Once I put the 15lb RSA into my gun I failed to get BTF on 124gr & 147gr loads. I also tried Hornady Critical Defense JHP 115gr and they also ran fine. No BTF. 115gr UMC will give me a BTF to shoulder or the face maybe once or twice out of 50 rounds but honestly that's probably because UMC is garbage ammunition. Either way a huge improvement from when UMC would give me 30% of the mag to the forehead. With anything else it runs like a sewing machine now. So I'm happy with it. I just know now that as long as I don't put UMC through it than it should work as advertised.
What caused the initial problem?
Glock
What caused the initial problem?
Machine Injection Molding parts being shitty and out of spec and a stock recoil spring that was too heavy to robustly eject weaker ammunition. It was a factory brand new Glock 19 Gen 4 so it was frustrating that I had to deal with all this but at least it doesn't eject hot brass into my face now. I'm satisfied. I never had any malfunctions of jams just hot shells burning me.
I've reached that moment in time where I am stuck between buying a car or a gun whenever I get out of boot camp... To be honest, I probably won't need a car for a few more months, since I'll be going back for advanced training and A School.
Get a car man, and if you want a gun just buy something cheap. You can find a reliable pump shotgun for under 150 if you shop around
Get a car man, and if you want a gun just buy something cheap. You can find a reliable pump shotgun for under 150 if you shop around
That's what I may end up doing, that or I'll just save my money and wait and get both after I'm done.
unboxed m39, shitty quick pics because i had to go do stuff afterwards Think I got lucky considering I got an unissued hex reciever VKT with very minimal wear to the two-piece stock and no signs of rust or pitting, as some were complaining they had some issued / badly worn rifles when they got theirs. Trigger is around the 5 lb. pull mark though it feels loose. It is a 12 lb. rifle unloaded, although when I pick it up it only feels like it's around 9 and 1/2 lbs because it's well balanced. Bolt looks like it was polished before being lightly doused in a watery cosmoline. Bolt also has matching serial number to the reciever. definnitely worth the pocket change
I gotta go bullet farming tomorrow. I have my own little shooting range. It's a hike up the mountain so lugging ammo and guns sucks but the spot is good because even if someone decided to cry about the noise and how scary guns are no cop wants to hike all the way up a mountain toward the sound of gun fire. We just shoot our guns and leave our shells. So there is like two years worth of fun sitting on the ground. I'm gonna take two 5 gallon buckets up there and pick them all up. Shotgun shells go in one bucket because I don't think we're gonna do anything with them. But everything else gets put in the second one which will get sorted when it's full and cleaned and we'll start reloading them some day. We're looking to get reloading equipment this Christmas. So I better go rake up all that brass before it gets too fucked up and we need to throw most of it out. Also gives me another chance to play with my newly fixed Glock. I got some 115gr Winchester I want to shoot and see if it performs better than the UMC did. I also got some more 124gr Winchester to shoot just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

Once bitten twice shy and that sort of thing. Well not only did I get BTF on 115gr white box and 124gr whincester but now I'm getting light strikes. I got one on the 115gr and another two on the 124gr And they both ejected into my face. So I'm assuming the light strikes are due to my weak RSA but the BTF issue is back. I took it back to the gun store and they're going to ship it back to Glock. Maybe they'll fix it this time.
I think the gun does not like you. It's being passive aggressive.
I was convinced it was fixed yesterday. Than today I got a couple dozen brass to my forehead and than three light strikes. The BTF was annoying but light strikes are kinda a big deal in a semi-automatic pistol. Like I said, probably my weaker RSA so I put my stock RSA back in. But now my BTF is about as frequent as it was before I fucked with anything. Something is really wrong with this gun. So I hope Glock fixes it. I don't plan to see it for awhile. Luckily I still have my BG380 although when I shot it today it was stovepiping the last spent round in the magazine. Not sure why. I mean, it shot all seven shots but the seventh spent brass gets stove piped. Maybe ammo? It was Blazer Brass. I bought some Lawman and some more Hornady Critical Defense that I use as carry ammo and I'll go shoot that stuff tomorrow and see what happens.
