Same thing, really.
Someone has offered to add a Springfield XD .45 on top of money for a mountain bike I own ($1500 bike). I've never owned a pistol before and am wondering where on the shite scale this gun falls, how expensive the ammo would be, and what I might be better off with instead. The S&W M&P40 feels perfect in my hands. It was between that and some Taurus I don't remember anymore when I was fondling stuff at a gun show (Arkansas here). Thanks guys. Oh, and it would just be used for taking to a range and target shooting I suppose. I don't plan on concealed carrying any time soon.
I think that's the guy that ran onto the whitehouse lawn after jumping a fence
The pic is no newer than Oct 2013, but fence jumping is a somewhat regular occurance. [editline]10th February 2015[/editline] Canada is designing a new gun, looks like this: Took me a while, but I realized what it reminded me of! My wife has a 9mm compact XD,and it is a pretty nice little gun. You can certainly do better, but you aren't going to go wrong from a functionality standpoint with an XD, provided someone has taken remotely decent care of it. That said, if it doesn't feel nice in your hands, then you shouldn't get it. If you don't like the feel of the gun, that is pretty unlikely to change.

OICW concepts are fucking retarded and will never be useful.
They're useful for science fiction settings
As a Canadian, I think we need to stop trying to design a gun for a while.

Defiantly NOT a plinker cartridge. However, the XD is a nice gun, and if you wanted, you could easily sell it or trade it for something that is cheaper to shoot, say in .40 or 9mm. As far as the quality of the gun itself? It is a good reliable gun. I have owned a few, would recommend them to anyone, really. Like a Glock with more features, but less aftermarket. [editline]11th February 2015[/editline] http://imgur.com/gallery/Pptho Here is my pictures I took of an M4(A0), M249, and a M240B. Check them out. Take an SMG and a magazine fed grenade launcher and call it a day. Zero compelling reason to attach the two. Or if we are being awesome, go the Vietnam route. A side arm, a grenade launcher, grenades, and shotshells designed to be fired from said grenade launchers. That seems to fit with our current type of conflicts rather well.
I am watching FNX .45 pics, and it feeds even more my desire to have one. But I feel so impotent....this country makes it impossible for me to get it! Oh man. Gonna have to content myself with my Glock 19 and my colt positive .32
I've got 2 offers for my Yugo M24/47 "k98" $150 and a Turkish K. Kale Gew 98 from 43 or just $230 I'm picking up a real Nazi K98 with Waffen stamps intact tomorrow for $380 and want to recoup my money a bit but a free gun, the dad to the gun I'm getting, would be nice.

Except the Chinese have gone as simple as possible; all they did was integrate a bolt action single shot grenade launcher into the weapon. It's no heavier than any other assault rifle/grenade launcher combo and about just as effective.
Is .223 cheaper than 7.62x39 in general?
In the states, I think so. At least near me I can usually pick up 5.56 for about the same price, and sometimes cheaper. If you mean Remington .223, and not 5.56, then I don't think so. I think 7.62 is easier to pick up, especially in bulk.
Is .223 cheaper than 7.62x39 in general?
In Canada no, since we get the surplus the US can't.
So, has anyone had luck in finding 22lr in stores like Walmart? I know in some places evidently there is no longer a shortage, but here in Jacksonville, I can't find it anywhere that sells it for a good price. The only place stocked up with it sells it for incredibly high prices. ($65 for a box of 550 that costed $18 just a few years ago)
I managed to get a box at a gunshop here the other day. Now I can go shooting with my dad this weekend and not freak out about cracking my few hundred rounds that I had open.
34*12.50....425 pesos. 300 rounds, 300/425. 0.70 pesos per bullet. You gotta be kidding me. the 50 rounds .22 box here costs as much as...100 pesos. And we're not talking CCI, we're talking FM, national made that jam every 7 shots.
Here in Australia I pay AUS$54 per 500 for CCI standard velocity which is a little bit over 9c a round. SK Standard Plus and Rifle Match are AUS$84 and AUS$103 per 500. I haven't bought any in a while though because I don't have a .22lr. .17HMR though is about $170 per 500
That's it. Fuck this country. The moment I get my degree in Econ I am immediately moving to Czech Republic or wherever PrusseLusken lives.
Norway.
CCI Blaser is about $30/500 here, $0.06/round. Remington Gold Bullet is $23/525, $0.044/round.
