last time I bought .22 it was $12/550

Around the time I first got into guns was in the earlier Facepunch threads where ammo for .22, 7.62x54R, were all so low and I really got into the idea of getting a 10/22 and a Mosin one day and having at it. Nowadays with housing so god damn expensive and getting paid shit for doing all you can do really doesn't help that dream :c
I think a Mosin would still be well within your grasp; the rifles themselves still run in the neighborhood of $80 - $120 (provided you shop around), and the ammo is still pretty cheap. Spam cans on Aim Surplus are sitting right at $117.45 shipped. Granted it's not the dirt cheap stuff you could get just two or three years ago, but it's still cheap as hell for full power rifle ammunition. You might have to save a bit but it can be done :v:
I have a ruger lc9 and I think it would be the most badass thing to suppress it, does anybody actually make threaded lc9 barrels?
Rumors of BAFTE trying to cut down on .223 sales, is this true?
MAC commented on it, so I'd assume they probably are. It really wouldn't surprise me much with Obama trying to implement EAs to limit guns in general ineffectively..
Why is it so hard to find an AUG for under 1400
Why is it so hard to find an AUG for under 1400
everyone wants a spacegun
Rumors of BAFTE trying to cut down on .223 sales, is this true?
Rumor is M855 (green tip) 5.56x45 ammo is about to be banned. Reclassified as AP.
M855 (green tip) 5.56x45 ammo is about to be banned. Reclassified as AP.
ap ammo isn't illegal though [editline]14th February 2015[/editline] even if it were, m855 doesn't have a steel, tungsten, brass, DU, iron, or beryllium copper core so the language of the only relevant law doesn't apply to it
I know, but that's the news in the rumor mill. I quickly scanned a few articles earlier and thought it was already going in to effect, but it's just a proposal for now it seems. My mistake, I'll edit my post.
M855 (green tip) 5.56x45 ammo is about to be banned. Reclassified as AP.
I really don't see how they can do that. M855 is not even close to AP. The steel tip doesn't even become a factor in penetration until you reach lower velocities. Worst I've seen M855 do to an armor plate is scratch it lightly. When will they pull their heads out of their asses and realize that material does not equate penetrative capabilities?

"The issue is that regular ball M855 is not “entirely” made of the listed materials–it is a steel tip over a lead core, so I think they are going after the angle of the steel jacket weighing more than 25 percent of the entire round. I believe the M855A1 jacket is about 33 percent of the weight, and the M855 Lead Free variant is a tungsten core. I don’t know the weight breakdown of the regular ball, though."
pretty much any lead free ammunition would be considered armor piercing under this rule as well the jacket of an M855 round is well under 25% of the overall weight

I'm talking legally. normal .270 can punch through body armor no problem
I'm talking legally. normal .270 can punch through body armor no problem
Legally? The ATF makes the law, it is what they say it is, because that power was delegated to them (un-elected bureaucrats) by congress. Regulation without representation, death by 1000 cuts, the slow boiling frog analogy, etc...
lead free ammo isn't currently legally armor piercing though
We've got a form letter coming together here, take your objections and send them to your congresscritters: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1718203_Sample_letters_for_the_ATF_Regarding_M855_Ban.html
It sucked when 7n6 got banned so I certainly don't want this to happen to another group of fun owners, I've already sent a letter to my congressman.
It was banned from import, not from sale. M855 is produced domestically, so they're not going about it the same way. Or maybe they are, and they're just lazy and dumb as hell?
Why is it so hard to find an AUG for under 1400
I got mine for 1200, just have to shop around.
Going to a great gun show in Hopkinsville, KY. Gonna try and score a Mare's Leg in .357 mag.
Going to a great gun show in Hopkinsville, KY. Gonna try and score a Mare's Leg in .357 mag.
What I find hilarious is those are considered pistols in the US, yet up here they're a non-restricted rifle. The boxes still say "THIS IS A PISTOL" on them too.
I got mine for 1200, just have to shop around.
Found an MSAR for $1200, we'll see
Just put a down payment on my Steyr L9-A1, price is apparently going to jump a bit around here. Store owner had the L9 up for $525 new, but the price it cost him to get Steyrs went up to $535 for him as a seller, so wee.
I went to the third local gunshow in the ~8 months I've been here, literally all of the same shit but shifted to different booths, 500 dollar arisakas, 400 dollar turkish mausers and the dude with vintage stahlhelms wanted $375 for the pair. A few weeks ago I went to a pawn shop with gramps and found some cool shit - A Gew 88 with all the right stamps for 8mm, and a spanish mauser in .308, both for ~425 a piece. Life here is suffering for the gunsperg.
