Legally? The ATF makes the law, it is what they say it is, because that power was delegated to them (un-elected bureaucrats) by congress.
Regulation without representation, death by 1000 cuts, the slow boiling frog analogy, etc...
The ATF, the RCMP's less evil twin.
So is $650 after tax too much for the Glock 20? Cause honestly I think that's a fair price.
I personally won't pay more than $500 for a Glock, but I buy 9mm variety, not 10mm.

that's alright if it's a new gen 4

I wish glocks here were that cheap.
that's alright if it's a new gen 4
Sounds a bit high, was it a Gen 4? I paid $560 brand new for mine after tax.
Some of the Gen 4's are that expensive. Just depends on what you're getting.

A pinch late, but oh well.

It's about $575 everywhere I go and this place local has it for $599 and then taxes.
Do any of you folks live in Texas that can give me a basic run down of how the gun laws are?
I know most people say they're great but sometimes I get the impression they have a lot of dumb laws too so I just want to feel it out. I'm thinking about leaving NY.

Tell you the truth I don't even know the laws.
No open carry, concealed carry in public place only if you have permit, can conceal carry in a vehicle you own / control... Long rifles you can open carry if their not loaded.
And can carry any what ever long gun in your car unloaded.
I should really read up on these laws.....
So I just managed to pick up a Yugo Mauser w/matching serials for $270 at Big 5 today, while I wait for the 10-day waiting period, do any of you know of any resources or ways to identify manufacturer/year?
I can't find anything on how to identify these, all I have been able to narrow down is that it's a M48 and not a variant. If any of you know anything already the serial is M79XXX

I just sold my Yugo Mauser today. Not really helping you but thought I'd share
Well after a long hiatus I think I am back into the firearm owners club, a lot of you guys have probably never seen me before but I am not new to the firearm thread.
After selling all my guns up in AK last year I recently picked up a new shotgun last week to get back in the sport. A simple Mossberg 500 12 gauge, stock (for now).
I had to run some rounds through it yesterday to make sure it was a good one and I filmed some small snippets of the action. After being without a gun for a while it was a welcome sensation to be smelling gunpowder again.
So without further ado here is the sad and tragic story of Frankie that Halloween decoration. After a long stressful week I had to take my anger out some way. Remember guys, keep it safe.

It was kind of sad to see the range in such a trashy state, since the couple years I have been away from it people have just been trashing the hell out of it.
God fucking dam that range is so trashy it gives gun owners a bad name, go clean it up.

This. "Ranges" being covered in trash have led to bylaws against discharge being passed.

I might just have to use google earth to locate that mass of garbage and clean it up myself. I doubt it's hard to spot.

PM Camwi. He's in Fort Worth and is pretty keen on Texas laws and availability.

Our National Forest ranges are the same way. They close them each Monday for cleaning, but after various competitions that are regularly held there and people ignoring the no shotguns rules, it's pretty much like walking on pure ice because the brass and hulls just roll out from under your feet if you go on Sundays. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they're perfectly clean. It's amazing.

Sounds like heaven if you want brass.

I'm going out there next Sunday and I'm bringing some buddies so we can start cleaning it up. we cleaned up that spot where we were shooting but it's a pretty big field so it might take a while. There's a guy who walks around daily and confronts people who don't clean up their trash but it doesn't do much good when these people are so ignorant.
Sounds like heaven if you want brass.
It is, but there's usually nothing but .308, 7n6, and 5.56. Really, buying in bulk is about as cheap as reloading the rounds that are frequent there. The ,303, .30-06, and .300 Win Mag shooters generally police themselves to take on their next range day, myself admittedly included even though I don't reload.
Reason I'm saying that is because I'm being given all the supplies tools and everything to reload shotgun shells. Granted I know if at minimum you will berly have a hard time beating 2$ less a box than store bought.
I have alot of research, and stuff I have to do.
Or I might sell all the shotgun reloading stuff to buy a RCBS progressive / turret of some kind for the giggle of .223, 9mm, .45 ACP, and .270. Maybe alittle .308.....

Just finished building my AR15, it was a easier then I expected. I did it with very little instruction, some people make shit far to complicated.
Anyway this is the result of my labor - Made me a 18inch SPR. Specs below.
5.56
18 inch barrel with a 1/7 twist
Mid-length gas system
Free Float Rail / T-MOD style rail system
Effin-A Compensator MKII - Allows me to adjust the system to what I want, I can open and close ports with screws it comes with
Nickel Boron Carrier Group
Anderson Lower w/CMMG lower parts
Magpul Grip and Magpul Fixed stock
I have a Nikon prostaff scope, but I just put my aimpoint on it for now.
I just need to purchase backup sights and I'm good to go

Now I just need to name it, you guys come up with some names and after a day or so I'll put all the names together and we'll vote on it.
a few plum mags for the 74 wouldnt hurt as all i have for it is a single circle 10 mag with the metal lips
i've also got a PK-01V optic on the way as i have decided to stick to standard rus/bulg parts to keep it genuine and less 'fudd' with stupid plastic shit but thats just a personal gripe
im not gonna lie, i prefer this shit over my M4 carbine lol
ARs are neat and all but the AK just has something about it that makes it more fun / cool / interesting / insert adjective here. :v:
