Welp, still no Glock. I didn't think an in-store pickup order would honestly take more than a day but hopefully they call tomorrow.
I'm a machine gunner with 1/6. And the gun shows around here are very hit or miss, only thing I've ever bought was a few bricks of 22lr ammo for $30 bucks a pop.
Rad. I might have to go to Raleigh for what I want then.
So this great, crazy old Croatian guy that comes by my store a lot said he had some old Russian scopes he wasn't using, so I told him I wanted to see them. He showed up today with them, and just gave them to me. One is a side-mount scope, with the mounting bracket, but he says the electronics don't work. It has no battery for me to verify. The second one is a weaver-base-mount scope with the Russian Sniper reticle like this:

This one he doesn't want because part of the base cracked, so he crazy-glued it back on. The electronics that light the thing up red still work. I figured, hey, it probably won't hold up, but I'll try putting this old Russian scope on my AR, because why not? So I did.

Man all in all a fun day out shooting yesterday but we had an incident with one of the guys a friend invited out. This short little fat guy with little man syndrome who works as a security guard should identify him quite well. So I went down range and clearly stated "Down Range!" to my group and they acknowledged it. Apparently this guy didn't hear me and when he eventually saw me he got irate and decided that to teach me a lesson he was gonna fire at the target I was 5 feet next to. So he popped off two shot from about 45 yards directly towards me with a gun that he had stated earlier "shoots high and to the left, I think."
I didn't see him do it I just heard two shots and saw the target next to me shred and then looking back he was chuckling while everyone else was glaring at him in disgust. I was FURIOUS, so I calmly walked back to my bench and grabbed my shotgun and walked up to him with my barrel down (Yes luckily I can control my anger) and in a very stern voice "If you ever point a gun at me again you better kill me because if you don't I will kill you." So he started lipping off about me threatening him which was ironic and how he was gonna smash my face in. A few seconds later a guy walks up with his pistol drawn and tells him to put his hands on his head. Turns out we had an off duty cop next to us who saw the whole thing, so he put him in cuffs and made me stand aside to calm down. He just TORE into the guy about how stupid what he just did was and all that jazz. The cop finished with him and walked over to me and asked what I wanted to do. I had calmed down a little now and I didn't want to ruin my day of shooting so I didn't press charges but I still though the guy was going to jail. In the end the cop banned the guy from ever stepping foot on that land again and gave him the most vicious talk of his life.
In the end I can't imagine the stupidity involved with that, not to mention he did it in front of his daughter and my ex-marine brother in law who has PTSD.
He got lucky though, he claimed ignorance and said he didn't see me till he had already shot which the cop knew was bullshit. The only thing keeping him from being arrested was my word, looking back on it now I should have pressed charges.
But at the end of the day it's over now and I still stick by these words, PLEASE keep it safe when you're out shooting.
P.S. And avoid stupid big ego small dick twats.

Good fucking Lord, I can't believe you were able to kind of keep your cool with some jackass like that. Also, there's a reason why I OC my 1911 or Sig when I got to our range, even though the guys that shoot there are really, really, REALLY good at calling cold every 15 minutes no matter who's there.

Yeah it was pretty tough, knowing that his daughter was there I decided not escalate things any farther. Luckily that cop popped up because this guy was just getting more and more pissed off and had he not come over things could have been VERY different. He is lucky I didn't have a gun on me downrange because I probably would have popped one into him. The 15 seconds it took to walk back to the bench let me cool down enough to think things through. Initially I was ready to kill him. I mean hell he could have missed and shot me, he had no clue where the sights on that gun were shooting.
And this, my friends, is why you don't take complete and utter idiots to the range. Leave them for the streets where they can only hurt themselves in trying to hurt someone else.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
It's too bad you didn't press charges, POS like him give gun owners a bad name.
Then again, it probably could have cost you more than it was worth in lawyers fees, unless he plead out, especially with the overwhelming evidence against him.
Need to give these people some kind of criminal record that sticks so they can't own guns anymore.
Another good reason to CC on a range, don't know when someone is going to try and kill you like that or Chris Kyle's case.
Yeah the guy who invited him feels like an idiot now, I guess it was some guy he met at a gun store a couple months ago, I don't believe they are buddies anymore.
I would hope not. I would disown any friends doing that shit too.
Do gen 3 glocks have a chance of blowing up any more than other pistols?

At that point it's that guy vs the state, an OP is just a witness in the events. No lawyer costs for him, just taking the time to go to court.
Do gen 3 glocks have a chance of blowing up any more than other pistols?
Super rare issue and only with 10mm cartridges. I used to shoot and reload for my G19 all the time, never had any problems.
Do gen 3 glocks have a chance of blowing up any more than other pistols?
the only glocks that supposedly blow up are first generation glock 22s and seeing as mine hasn't blown up in the 12 years I've owned it I'd say it's not a big deal. supposedly 10mm spec reloads using brass from the early '90s that didn't have thickened bases were the only rounds that blew them up. that was sort of a popular thing 20 years ago but you'll never find factory ammunition like that or anyone who recommends loading them to that spec.
Do gen 3 glocks have a chance of blowing up any more than other pistols?
I shoot full power 10mm from Underwood out of my G20 stock barrel with no issues.
They use starline brass, which I reload, because that brass isn't exactly common.
No issues with my reloads yet, but I keep watching for bulges.
Surprisingly, I've had some of the underpowered 10mm bulge on me, the Remington loads, ands maybe some PPU.
Pretty sure it was the .40s that were improperly supported and thus exploded, not the 10mm.
yeah the 10mms were fine, the .40s had a wonky feed ramp that left the cartridge unsupported because it used all glock 17 parts other than the barrel and magazine and bolt face
Pretty sure it was the .40s that were improperly supported and thus exploded, not the 10mm.
IIRC the problem was bullet setback drastically increasing the pressure. Something like 2mm of setback doubling the chamber pressure on the .40, which tends to happen more with reloads than factory ammo, which combined with the lack of additional support on the early .40 Glocks led to explosions with reloaded ammo.
So I found out that at some point while my grandfather was in the RAF he came into possession of a Gurkha knife. It's pretty cool, the sheath has 2 smaller knives in it too.
Help me out guys
MSAR AUG with original 1.5x "donut of death" scope with 4 mags for $1400 plus shipping
Or
Steyr AUG with 3 mags, no sights for $1500, no shipping
What would you pick?
No scope. The original AUG scope sucked balls.
When I say scope, it can be pulled off to use the 1913 rail. The Steyr has just the rail
No scope. The original AUG scope sucked balls.
We're you ADF and issued an AUG?
I was a cadet. I used it enough to know is sucked balls over nearly every commercially available scope.
If the scope is removable I would go with the scope version for the cheaper price and extra magazines. I have no idea how much shipping is in the US but I would assume less than the $100 more you have to pay to get free shipping.
I had assumed you were talking about the integrated AUG scope.
Well yeah it's the integrated scope, but on the new ones it's detachable, not permantly attached to the reciever. Shipping should be around $30.
But I do want the Steyr since it's the original and the highest quality
I briefly talked about being given the equipment to reload shotgun shells. Went out to the ladys house and aaaaaaaa All the equipment a man could want. Literately had a book case full of dies for normal cartridges, book case full of literature never before was I so happy to see reading material, and 3 separate media vibrators! 5gal buckets of brass, shelves full of reloads, and a few tid bit black powder stuff too.
I don't even know were to start with all this. He only had a little single stage RCBS...
I guess my first question would be anyone here reload? I know theirs a large "introductory" cost but... I don't have that issue it seems! So if anyone wish's to add me on steam and consistently get bugged all the time about stuff fell free I'll need the help on trying to figure out whats here and whats not.
My dad reloads, and I bought a set of dies for the Arisaka I used to have, but I haven't tried reloading anything for it yet.
Welp, here's my baby. My first handgun, the beautiful Gen4 Glock 20.
She's not even a month old, MFR'd on February 1st of this year.

Those little knives are for sharpening and maintaining the blade.

I reload, steam is the same as my name here.
