It's the ATF. When have they ever been logical when it comes to guns?
It's the ATF. When have they ever been logical when it comes to guns?

I did write you guys but I will say it again here. As a Police Officer in a large city it is very rare for us to encounter a AR-15 style rifle or pistol used in the commission of a crime, let alone against us. Stop using law enforcement as a pawn and excuse for taking actions like this. Criminals are the problem, and they will disregard the law anyway. Lets be straight with all this, these moves are politically motivated. You guys have the stats, you know the number of crimes that so called "assault weapons" are used in. I'm more worried about the next criminal killing me with a Glock then a AR or AK. Legal law abiding citizens shooting some cheap green tip in their yards, at the range, or chambered for self defense are NOT the problem!
Just goes to show they want to ban guns or at least make them useless with no ammo. "Hurr the 2nd dosnt protect ammo now dun it? Lets ban it cuz we can."
Holy shit, SGAmmo got raided today for 7.62x39... barely anything left...
So a few years ago, my aunt showed me something her dad kept as a keepsake post-World War II. I was shocked when I found out it was a good-condition Luger. Knowing the rarity of these things, I'll never ever fire it, but I was so ecstatic that I was able to hold one.
I guess that Lugers are quite rare in the US, especially bring backs, but around here you can pick up pre WWII era Lugers for about what you would pay for a Glock. Shot a 1918 Luger a couple of months ago and the owner got it for quite a low price.

Some made it through legitimately, which make them even rarer, but overall, Lugers are highly prized here because they're a royal bitch to get and Germany really wasn't using many of them by WWII. WWI, we weren't involved with long enough to really care.
So next week I'm going to go apply for my CCW and I promised I would celebrate by getting a Sig Sauer P226; however, I was just browsing through a local shop's online listing and I found a .45 ACP Gen 4 Glock 21. So.....I bought it! :v: I just have to wait for everything to get processed and they'll call to let me know when it's ready to be picked up.
Glocks are fantastic handguns, but I think I'm a Sig fanboy now. Love my P228. Regretted selling my P228R, especially as it was a week or two before Sandy Hook, and there was nothing left to replace it with afterwards. Ended up getting a 2nd gen G19 with no texture left on the grip. Had to readjust my grip on it every few rounds, it was so slippery.

Really love the way it feels and the fact that it's comfortable to shoot yet relatively easily enough concealed.
I ordered an alpha shooting chrony from my local gunshop. Is it worth it and has anyone ever used one before?
chronys are very nice to have if you reload or do match shooting
chronys are very nice to have if you reload or do match shooting
Sounds like that could be useful in long range shooting, I might be happy with this decision.
Alright guys, I'm heading to Gander tomorrow finally to get a new gun now that I have a day off. I'm debating between picking up a new handgun for comp and plinking or picking up a cheap AR-15 for $600 at a different store. What say you guys?
If your Gander is anything like mine, it might not be the best place to buy from. My Gander has some outrageous pricing on a lot of firearms... $850 Taurus PT92s for instance :v:

Sorry, fixed. Clearly a typo. [editline]28th February 2015[/editline]
If your Gander is anything like mine, it might not be the best place to buy from. They all have ridiculous prices and gun shows are a once a quarter thing.

I think I wanna get into competition shooting, is GSSF a good place to start?

I've finally got my dream gun, the gun I've wanted since I started playing CSS so long ago and countless other video games The Steyr AUG (next to Trunks M17S) [t]http://i.imgur.com/pZMQsBo.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/nMN0VSt.jpg[/t] [editline]1st March 2015[/editline] Oops they're big
For the love of [t] man, tag that shit! But no, really, awesome gun. I unfortunately came to the realization that my commissions are being paid next pay check, so I can't afford a new gun this weekend. :(

Do you plant your chin on the receiver to use the aimpoint?
Bluh, made up my mind. I'm getting a Sauer 200 STR. 15700 NOK, $2000, including rear dioptre sight and accessories
Prusse, since you're our foremost expert on pricey Euro guns, hows the Sauer 202? I've been watching Franz Albrecht destroy hogs with one, and it makes me moist.

Weirdly enough, if you look down the center of the rails like they're a really long notched sight post, it's kind of accurate for some quick plinking.

Very beautiful gun, one of my personal favorites.
Oh, and the reason why the 200 STR is so cheap (14k stock in 6,5x55 with 700/21 barrel), is because it's subsidized by the state and the Norwegian Voluntary Rifle Association (DFS). They're much more expensive in Germany and England, for example. Norway, Sweden, and Denmark all use the STR (Scandinavian Target Rifle) for their voluntary rifle assocs.
:o I wish our rifles were subsidized by the government! Oh wait, we have the CMP, D'oh; still, that would be like having the NRA subsidize R700s or something.
Having shot a 200 STR I can vouch for their accuracy. Even a somewhat poor rifleman like me can shoot pretty tight groups with them at 200 meters with regular target iron sights. They are heavy and not very handy however, but I haven't shot a lot of bolt action rifles, so I do not have much to compare them with.
Got a new recoil spring in the C96, kept the original in the package the replacement came in. It was bent up and had "set" from age, so I ordered a new one from Wolff for shooting so it wouldn't wear out the bolt stop. The new spring makes the action fucking scary as shit.
:o I wish our rifles were subsidized by the government! Oh wait, we have the CMP, D'oh; still, that would be like having the NRA subsidize R700s or something.
I wish we had a CMP in Canada. Instead, they make all the old guns illegal and then destroy them.
