Putting your safety on the trigger is like putting your emergency brake on the accelerator. Only dumber. If you must have a safety that is "automatic" in the sense that no thought is necessary to engage and disengage it, then a grip safety seems the better choice.
Don't let Trunk hear you saying that, after all, grip safeties are archaic and makes for a terrible shooting grip. (But, no, I agree 100% in what you say.)
Don't let Trunk hear you saying that, after all, grip safeties are archaic and makes for a terrible shooting grip. (But, no, I agree 100% in what you say.)
grip safeties suck real hard because if you're in a situation where you can't get a proper grip on your gun you're fucked.
If you can't get a proper grip on your gun, why would you be trying to fire it? It's not like you have a whole lot of options with a handgun on how to hold it, properly or improperly.
maybe you're being held down and you can only just barely get to your gun? maybe just barely being able to wrap your finger around the trigger is the difference between life and death? trigger safety is the only external safety that doesn't have any chance of getting you killed.
So, less than 1% chance of an event within an event less than 2% likely to happen. I like that reasoning.
ever needing a gun at all is unlikely so I guess you should just not carry one your logic isn't working.
No, but there is documented cases of CC being helpful and protective. I've never heard a case where someone barely pulled the trigger on a gun they couldn't get a hold of, firing an unaimed shot that saved their lives. I have also heard of cases of negligent discharge with a loaded firearm while in a holster from a whole myriad of firearms. Ones with external safeties not associated with the trigger happen, too, but there are a lot less.
negligent discharge is just that, negligent. It shouldn't be a factor here.
maybe you're being held down and you can only just barely get to your gun? maybe just barely being able to wrap your finger around the trigger is the difference between life and death? trigger safety is the only external safety that doesn't have any chance of getting you killed.
The grip safety is positioned directly behind the trigger. In order to apply sufficient rearward pressure to activate the trigger, you need to have something behind the trigger applying counter pressure. I'm actually unsure of how I would manage to discharge a firearm using my hands without positioning them in such a way that they would disengage the grip safety.

Are you saying that in an optimal situation you don't go about your business with the gun's safety on? It seems it would have prevented this accident.
I hope you're joking about the trigger warning.
No I wasn't, I remember someone in this thread being in a self defense situation as well as a few military members lurking. I don't wanna trigger someone.. But also, the only thing I ordered that would be incriminating would probably be the Infidel slide cover plate, but honestly that's the only stupid thing I ordered for it. Other then that, I got a slide lock, slide release, 3.5 connector etc. Also, the 10mm underwood ammo I bought is 180 grain Speer FMJ's but I was gonna get the 180 grain speer gold dots.

The prevailing line of thought in handgun self defense is that most dedicated mechanical safeties are only detrimental to your survival and you should rather rely on a heavy DA first round pull as a ward against NDs, or something like the Glock safe action trigger.
I didn't know trigger warnings were used unironically

You'll also need a 22-24lb recoil spring or it wont cycle. Get rid of the infidel plate; the 3.5lb disconnector without the trigger only brings it down to 4lbs, unless I have that backwards.
To be edgy
It's from the Iraq/ Afghan war since all the kebabs call us westerners infidels.

Also I probably will ditch the plate, I didn't really buy it to be edgy or anything. I know what the actual meaning of it is and I figured it wouldn't be so bad. [editline]12th March 2015[/editline] And yeah I want a pyramid or fulcrum trigger next but I figured the disconnector would just help out for the time being with the sponginess of the Glock.
sure it has a meaning but it's just as idiotic as punisher logos and that sort of thing. it's not cool, macho, or funny, it just makes any sensible person look at you and think "what a sperg"
Well at least it's not as bad as the "Smile and wait for the flash" backplates. Anywho, I'll probably just ditch it or use it on my airsoft glock. Also what the fuck, I can't find any generation 4 recoil springs for the glock 20. I'm only finding them for the compact and subcompact. Not a single spring I have found that has a customize-able weight is for Gen 4, only standard 17 pound weight.

I have plenty of fellow Marines that have it on various things because they're proud of having served in combat in Iraq/Afghanistan.

I found it after you linked me the first ones, I assumed you meant the single spring config was the only way it came which apparently it is in custom spring weights. I got the 22 pounder just cause everyone says it's good middle ground.

The 22lb doesn't actually feel that much heavier; we had gotten some other brand before the Glockmeister brand, and it was very heavy (supposed to be 22lb), and also a round spring instead of a flat spring. Plus the end cap was some cheesy thin plastic washer which deformed under the spring pressure. Buy once cry once... Yea, the 22lb will allow it to cycle everything from under powered factory 10mm to Underwood, Buffalo Bore, etc; I've shot Remington FMJs and PPU FMJs, JHPs, both of which were weaksauce 180grs going about 900-1000fps.
Could one of the vikings here provide me with links to the Scandinavian state-sponsored shooting sports things. I was planning on writing a letter to the government and wanted some European examples of state-sponsored shooting sports to compliment the US CMP.
negligent discharge is just that, negligent.
