Statistically, if you're not an idiot, it wont matter what gun you have, you wont shoot yourself. Grip safeties and magazine disconnect safeties came out of government requirements to mass issue the firearms to people with limited training. There will always be NDs because people are dumb.

I wouldn't bother with safeties if there was a modern handgun that didn't have one. I usually have the safety off and it hasn't gone wrong because I actively avoid pointing guns at myself

The assembly pin on my pistol broke. I was doing reloading drills and the slide locked back with a snap cap in the mag. The confusion I had was palpable, until I saw that the pin was sticking halfway out and was missing the part that hooks onto your finger.

The rubber caps that go on the handguard are called Squid grips :P
Figure I'll start with the TWS dogleg, which replaces the rear leaf with a peep sight at the back of the dust cover. Then I might through a PA microdot or Vortex Sparc on the rail.

Vortex SPARC is a good option, on its lowest mount, it gives lower 1/3 co-witness, not to mention, amazing value for the money. I had one and sold it because I wanted optics with AAs or no batteries at all.
There is a version of the TWS that has an integrated rear notch sight, if you'd prefer that, it's the only one in stock and it has a base for a PA Microdot:

Yea, one of the rarer Polytechs, it's a red bakelite side folder; stock locked open and closed very solidly, but cheek/jaw weld was rather uncomfortable, even painful, so I sold it.
It looks like it would be. Very cool, nonetheless.

Uhh thanks, I know what Google is. I searched and saw that result, I was hoping someone would be kind enough to take that picture without the magazine in, maybe angled a little more so I could see into the trigger-safety mechanism and magazine well. If that's too much to ask, I'd be happy to just go and find one to take apart and oggle at.

I have an old GBB "Glock M23F" made in Taiwan, It is a [I]really[/I] close copy of the Glock 19 reciever. I was hoping to see the similarities and the differences between the trigger and hammer mechanisms and what-not.
Honestly, just forget it, I'll find a video or a real Glock 19 to play with eventually.
At least y'all are lighthearted - I swear this isn't for waifu reasons.
