Google helps. [img_thumb]http://blog.vec.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Glock-receiver.jpg[/img_thumb]
It's bizarre seeing a clean Glock frame.
With the posts earlier in the page of the guns going off in the holster,is it a freak accident where the holster flips the safety and hits the trigger or are people not putting the safeties on or something?
The soft holsters were snagging on the trigger somehow and causing it to go off when the gun was pushed home. This requires you to either have only a trigger safety, no safety, or not have your safety on at all, and also be using a cheaply made soft holster. I love my thick leather holsters and I've never had any problems with them. They cost a bit more, but it's worth it for the comfort and functionality.
It's bizarre seeing a clean Glock frame.
No matter how much I clean my G21, every time I take the slide off there is a tiny smudge of carbon in a new and exciting place, it's an adventure every time.
So with all things considered, it'll cost me about $250 to restore my Gew 98 for it's 100th Anniversary... Sounds like a good price for a piece of history :)
Texas might be getting open carry soon, looks like the bill is passing its way through.
The Prime Minister of Canada finally came out and said that guns are used by rural families for defence in areas where police response is poor, and that it's a perfectly acceptable thing to do. It's a small step towards not having to worry about being arrested for defending yourself, but it's a step nonetheless, having the PM acknowledge that guns can, and are, used to protect oneself. The opposition, of course, is having aneurysms over the concept of people being able to use guns to *gasp* protect yourself. Because God forbid you don't just roll over and die when someone breaks into your house.

I honestly hope Tony Abbott doesn't do the same. At the moment anything said by the PM even if it's sane is automatically decried by the populous. For example, Abbott recently said he would be ok with nuclear power. A few weeks later I said I think nuclear power is the safest power source about and had the studies to prove it and automatically my uncle's wife said snootily "Where did you get that from? Tony Abbott?"

It's a lot easier to introduce gun rights into a constitution when you acknowledge that people need it to defend themselves. Also, I signed up for an amazon prime 30 day trial to get the free two day shipping on items and 4 dollar one day shipping, bought myself a chrony since they seem to be sold out literally everywhere.
I thought that both the Conquest and Conquest HD5 were 1", unless you got a Conquest DL?
Any turkey hunters here? I'm having an argument with someone online (so unusual!) and he insists that in a SHTF scenario he wants a 12G over a .22lr for hunting because of turkeys. So far he has insisted that a chest shot with a .22lr won't kill it and that you can't hit a turkey in the head with a rifle. I've mostly been arguing from the standpoint that weight for weight .22lr has 12x as many rounds than a 12G so even missing every couple of turkeys or requiring a follow up shot means in an equivalent situation .22lr would still up a 12G. With that, I think I'm going to put my BOB together. I've been meaning to for a while.
I've heard of people (illegally) hunting turkeys with a .22. It's not hard to hit a Turkey in the head with a well-sighted scoped .22 at ~50 yards. Also I bought a Chinese riser for my Chinese AR to put my Russian scope on, since having it mounted right on the gun was annoying. So far, it seems to drift even when just boresighting it, so I don't have high hopes for this actually holding any sort of real zero at the range Saturday, especially since I'm using Chinese ammo too, but we'll see.
Yea, I figured it was probably illegal but no one cares about that in SHTF. Anyway, it really doesn't matter to me because we don't have turkeys or turkey like animals down south in Australia.

I mean, a .22 to the head should take one of them down no problem.
They're a bit bigger than turkeys :v: They would make a good shtf food though. They're dumb as fuck.
For small game, .22. But in SHTF, 12ga. Shotgun's going to be more versatile than a .22lr, though a .22 is a close second. But the ability to go from killing squirrel and dove with bird shot to taking down a deer with buck shot or a slug and then a turkey with magnum shells; the shotgun's the way to go. Again, in my opinion. [editline]17th March 2015[/editline] Also, it depends on the state, but hunting turkey with a .22 magnum in PA isn't actually considered illegal... just really stupid.
No emus? I mean, a .22 to the head should take one of them down no problem.
Uhhh, Emus are tough damn birds, ask the Australian military how many .303 dumdum bullets an Emu can take... When SHTF, you better be raising chickens, because hunting is no easy task, let alone when everyone is trying and trying to kill you. just use .50 bmg tbh

A pack of 50 12 gauge rounds doesn't take up much room, they're piss easy to reload even in the field with random junk on the ground, and since everyone has a 12 gauge shotgun it'll be easy to scavenge ammo.

So yes, it is conceivable to believe that you could have several thousand rounds of .22.

Got $300 saved in cash, keep saving or go get me a nugget and some ammo? If so, anyone know if the KCK Cabelas has any in stock? It's the closest place that I know for certain stocks them. Their prices are fairly reasonable at $170 each. I'd go through the local gun shop but i'd need to pay a transfer fee and maybe a percentage as a finder's fee if I have him hunt a good one down.

At least at cabelas you can handle all the nuggets on the rack and find one with a good feeling action.
neighbours pissing you off?

It seems like a silly feature until you actually get the chance to use it.

LGS is a different story.
