Semi auto is an auto-loading firearm, whereas automatic (ie. machine gun) is an auto-firing firearm. Calling semi-auto "automatic" is pretentious at best, or disingenuous at worst.
The only firearms I know of that are or were routinely called "automatics" (that weren't machineguns) were semi-auto pistols in their advent towards then end of the revolver age; rifles were called "self-loading" if they were semi auto.
So its a semi auto?
To put it in the simplest terms physically possible: Semi-auto is when you pull the trigger for every shot you want to fire. Full-auto is when you pull the trigger and it keeps firing untill you let go of the trigger or you run out of ammo. All of the SMGs in Half Life have been full-auto only because none of the Half Life games have any function that lets you switch between the two modes.

If you had to pick one cartridge to fire from every one of your firearms for any situation possible, what cartridge would you pick? Just curious.
44 mag. Great in a revolver. Great in a carbine. It can be loaded to fit most situations within 200 yards.
7.62x25 because the shit you can load in the cartridge is ridiculous

Full power 10mm in a G20 and MP5/10 in HK34 style, good to 200-300yds [editline]23rd March 2015[/editline]
That stuff is rebranded Barnaul (Brown Bear). So, my dad is selling me his Hi-Point C9 for $120. Now, I know the bad rep they have, but honestly speaking, I've never had any trouble with it. I actually like it, never had any problems with it. The one problem it did have was with the magazine, but they fixed that and since then it has been pretty reliable. The other pistol he has is a Jennings J-22, and honestly, that thing is the biggest piece of shit. Does anyone here have a particular cheap brand of pistol such as Hi-Point?
If you had to pick one cartridge to fire from every one of your firearms for any situation possible, what cartridge would you pick? Just curious.
5.56 nato. acceptable penetration on soft targets, minimal penetration on hard targets, and plenty of accuracy.
If you had to pick one cartridge to fire from every one of your firearms for any situation possible, what cartridge would you pick? Just curious.
120mm apfsds-t Because you can never have too much penetration.
What MAC said. Give us your bullet weight, velocity, and what pound spring you have.
Underwood 180 grain speer FMJ's, 22 pound spring, and heres what underwood has listed Ballistics Information: Muzzle Velocity: 1350 fps Muzzle Energy: 728 ft. lbs.

Either the 180s are a bit long for the mag or your gun isn't cycling the slide fully.
Have you tried shooting those with the standard spring? [editline]23rd March 2015[/editline] Not my Glock but it's an example
IF you have a glock armorer in your area you may want to take it to them.

Start with the spring and the mags, see which is the issue before we start trying to identify feed lip geometry. The round shouldn't be able to go left at all; after fiddling with my G20, the rim is still inside the feed lips with the front 1/4 of the round in the chamber and the rim has yet to be seated behind the extractor.
The magazine that came with my 1911 would sporadically spew every bullet through the ejection port when you locked the slide back
The magazine that came with my 1911 would sporadically spew every bullet through the ejection port when you locked the slide back
Sounds like your feed lips are a little bent.
Sounds like your feed lips are a little bent.
It was a shitty aluminum magazine that I quickly tossed and replaced with steel GI mags.

.300 Blackout, because all gats should have a suppressor, just ask Prusse.
Did some range time today. Took some 9mm 115gr Hornady Critical Defense to test with me. At round 10, I had a total failure to cycle. As in the slide didn't even go back far enough to move the hammer to half-cocked in my M9, but the round still left the barrel. I think I'm gonna be sticking to my (very limited) supply of Speer 115gr GDHP. Also I used some Silver Bear 5.56 in my AR, very nasty ammo, every case that's ejected is almost black with soot. Normal brass cased ammo is shiny and clean when ejected.
