But CCW is legal there. That's a step in the right direction.
It's a may issue state. This means chances of getting a permit are almost non-existent. Also, Cali doesn't honor any state's permit but their own.
At my local ghetto indoor range, the targets are on a clothes line with a ghetto motor to run the target down range, and half the time you wont get your target back. Case and point here; [t]http://i.imgur.com/9C9TQta.jpg[/t] My target got caught on the side of my lane and proceeded to stay there till after I left. It was my tightest grouping of the day too, couldn't take it home.
Is that kodiak firing range in south bend? because the way you described it is exactly how kodiak is, targets on a clothes line that you 90% of the time have to hand shimmy down range.
Is that kodiak firing range in south bend? because the way you described it is exactly how kodiak is, targets on a clothes line that you 90% of the time have to hand shimmy down range.
naw its Jay's in Panama City Beach Florida. This shithole has the audacity to charge a person $20 per hour they spend inside.
naw its Jay's in Panama City Beach Florida. This shithole has the audacity to charge a person $20 per hour they spend inside.
That's robbery. The most expensive range fee around here is $15, and that is just a flat fee meaning you stay in for as long as you want. Heck, Bass Pro only charges $10 for their range, and it's for however long you want too.
So anyone here practice shooting from Center Axis Re-lock? Been practicing it at the range here and there. Seems to be pretty effective platform in my opinion. Solid.
That's robbery. The most expensive range fee around here is $15, and that is just a flat fee meaning you stay in for as long as you want. Heck, Bass Pro only charges $10 for their range, and it's for however long you want too.
They charge it because they know they can. They've been the only range within like 2 hours of the city for the past 20 or so years. The state Wildlife Commission just opened up an outdoor range thats $10 per day, but they're closed 2 days out of the week for constructions on the rest of the range. The only reason Jay's is staying open is probably because they also sell guns.
The prices at "nearby" ranges here fluctuate rather wildly. $40 for 4 hours for one indoor range (45 min drive), $50 on weekends, and you can only shoot pistol calibres, buckshot, and frangible there, $50 for the day at the other indoor range (1 hour 15 min drive) but you can shoot any cal up to .50 (yes, .50 on a 25m indoor range), and $30 for the day at the outdoor range (1.5 hour drive) but no rapid fire and they have these dumb wood baffles up to stop you shooting over the berm because one of the neighbours complained and the CFO threatened to shut them down if they didn't put them in.
I have a year pass for my local range. It was only 200 and it covered me and my wife. I go so much that it has already paid for itself. It's great.
Montana (the land of the Firearms Freedom Act) has finally caught up with the entirety of Europe and we can now use suppressors while hunting.
Riller wrote this, didn't he? This is pure idiocy and he knows it. Strong mirage on a day with little to moderate wind can be a killer at even 100m with an x4 scope.
Riller is a mongoloid who thinks he's the end all be all of military knowledge because he went through his year or 2 of conscription.
would get a bipod that isn't a piece of shit clamp-on airsoft one first tbh
Thats the plan. The hillbilly I bought it from had it on there along with a shitty pic rail mount for the molot rail. I'm still in the process of making the gun actually able to shoot, once thats down I'm going to invest in optics, rails, and a nice bipod. I'm probably going to get rid of the bipod all together if I chop the barrel down.
There's a range near me that charges $20/hr, but it's a newer range with good lighting, heavy duty railed target stands and has heating and a/c so it's comfortable all year round. That and the only other place near me to shoot rifle is in a state park, so $8 to get into the park and another $18.50 to get into the range. Though the park employee did let me in for free so I could go grab the rifle I stupidly left behind the day before.
i found out the bayonet was held together by loctite and i accidentally shot it off the front lol
How did you manage to do that? Did the bayonet come loose and a bullet hit the loop that wraps around the barrel?
Don't know if anyone saw this or not, DDI/ Waffen Werks AK-74s for $500, fully warrantied by DDI I'd get one if you are interested in having a '74, this is cheaper than you can build one for. https://www.classicfirearms.com/ak74-rifle-bulgarian-us-parts I took my AKS-74 to a "long range" shoot and was hitting a 24" gong at 300 yards with relative ease, firing quickly from the prone, shooting Wolf 60gr. There were several people there who came over to me at the conclusion and were surprised that I was making hits rapidly and consistently with that gun. Most everyone else there had a bolt gun. Now, this shouldn't be surprising, because 300m is a pretty standard distance for 5.56 ARs and AK-74s, but if you were on the fence about getting an AK or a 5.45 AK, now you know what they're capable of. I built it from a Bulgarian surplus parts kit just like those DDI/ Waffen rifles, so I dare say the build quality is about the same. My AKS-74 as it stands currently Optic is a Rakurs, non-magnified, true 1x reflex with an etched chevron reticle. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/JOYaGn7.jpg[/thumb]
pmag m3 for $24 each pmag m2 for $23 each GI with magpul follower $21 each is there any reason not to go for the m3? [editline]26th April 2015[/editline] i want to buy a bunch of ar mags in case an eventual magazine ban/registry happens. we might be fucked in the ass by a max 10 for rifle/15 for handgun law. [editline]26th April 2015[/editline] fuck it, i ordered 10 m3s. #yolo since i might be fucked with my cz527 being 1:12 rather than 1:9, if it is really 1:12 i'll just pack my 62gr 5,56 down into clips and mags in a fiddy can.
The only reason not to go with the M3s is the stupid shelf they added which may or may not preclude it from being properly inserted into some guns. Also, why they heck are you paying $24 for PMags? International shipping costs? I can get 30rd gen 2s for $8.80
because that's what they cost in norway. it's the cheapest i can find them (10 pack discount, from brownells.no). the price elsewhere is $40.. i'd buy them from someplace else, but 1. nobody sends mags from the us (if you know a site, tell me) 2. importing something with a value of more than 350 NOK/$45 sets you up to a 25% tax, as well as possible toll fee if you're unlucky. e.g. if i buy 3 13 dollar pmags, with 25 dollar shipping, i have to pay 80 bucks, PLUS eventual toll fee.
This is where I get mine from, they're having a clearance on foliage green PMags right now, so they're $8.79 per mag: http://ineedmoregear.com/magpul-pmag-moe-223rem-30rd-fol Edit: Yea, nobody ships mags overseas because of ITAR

Not sure if late with this, but w/e. http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/04/23/this-new-ad-perfectly-points-out-the-danger-and-stupidity-of-open-carry-video/ For once, they actually made an ad that made sense. I don't see why it's targeted towards kroger, but I do understand the unease with people walking around with rifles and shotguns slung on their backs, doesn't help the pro-gun cause at all. I personally keep my 870 in the trunk of my car when I go out, and in my room while asleep, but if I'm out in public I conceal carry my Steyr. I get that people are trying to make a point when they open carry an AR-15 slung on their back, but it really damages the cause more than it helps. Doesn't help either that most people OC with an AR-15 are just trying to bait cops to make videos.

We have a saying in the military, "perception is reality"; so obv, if all we see is a bunch of morons with guns, then all gun owners look like morons. As long as the rifles/shotguns are slung across their back and not across their front/and or being held at the low ready like the infamous Chipotle Ninjas, they aren't legally threatening anyone. Especially nowadays, the amount of braincells those individuals lack is astounding; to think it's ok to walk into a building with a rifle at the low ready. Aurora movie theater shooting anyone? I'm sure every one of you that carries has a plan for that sort of situation, and it'd be a shame to shoot some moron "protesting" at the low ready. Open carry of rifles was started by OC Texas to protest the lack of legal open carry of pistols. Unfortunately, they finally will have open carry and think that this was a good tactic. There have been two reported incidents of late about open carriers getting attacked, and they were OC'ing pistols and not protesting or videotaping. One in a walmart was tackled by some rando, and then a bunch of onlookers took his gun and started passing it around. Now that guy is going to trial. The second was an individual who attacked the OC'er with an aluminum bat, also in wally-world (maybe just stay out of walmarts?)
checked your ejector and extractor? looks like it stays within the receiver when it feeds the next round
Who built your '74? You can try squeezing the receiver a little in a vice where the ejector hook is, or add some material to it with a welder then file to fit.
Photos would be helpful.
I have a 1906 SxS shotgun (pictured on the first page of this thread) that I've always run plastic shells through, but they tend to swell and jam the extractor, requiring some rough handling of the gun, so I don't shoot it as often as I'd like to. Would brass shells be "correct" for this gun? I don't know anything about brass shotgun shells.

It looks like brass shot shells were popular until about 1900 but will work well in my shotgun either way. I'm probably going to go that route since I'm sick of playing WWE with my shotgun on the range.
Better start reloading shot shells then. Lots of materials go into a brass shell over our modern plastic hulls.
I have a reloading kit but I never bothered to get into it much. I guess I will now.
brass shot shells are super easy to reload
[t]http://i.imgur.com/MLMugzN.jpg[/t] Anyone see this crazy/gorgeous thing? Sold for $160,000. Apparently these were issued to Hitler's guards at the Fuhrerbunker. Your skin completes the circuit between the brass plates and activates the light mounted under the barrel. Pretty tight.
