an uncle or two of mine used to be into cannons. Some were home made. Anyways I have never seen such distruction unleashed on an appliance as when they hauled an old washer up to the range and hit it with the biggest one, fired from the bed of a truck. The whole washer twisted in on itself from one side. Tremendous noise too. I recall a few stories of drunkenly firing off blanks in the middle of town on new years eve. Sounds like a fun and deafening time.

And I can have 50+ year old guns shipped directly to my house from online But I can't buy black powder online So that means I have to pay the ridiculous gun store/sport shop markup
pretty sure you can buy it online [url]http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/browse/powder-caps/_/N-1100203/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104511780[/url]
My Grandfather passed away last night. Today while we were at my grandparents house, Grandma told me she wanted me to have Gramp's old rifle. I didn't know what it was at first, but after looking and asking a friend, I [del]believe[/del] it's a Arisaka Type 99. I know it's Arisaka at least. The Imperial Seal is scratched away but still distinguishable. I believe the furniture is still stock, but it's been cut down and sanded I think. Pictures incoming: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/yP4TQPO.jpg[/img_thumb] The full thing. The stocks been chopped. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/v1vbFkq.jpg[/img_thumb] The seal is scratched, but you can still make it out in the flash. Type 99 reads in Japanese. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lVYdMC8.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/fcWsD0h.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/qrQCtzs.jpg[/img_thumb] I'm told the pop up sight could be use for aircraft. It appears to be missing some parts from the pictures I referenced it from. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/StSI9QN.jpg[/img_thumb] [del]I'm not sure what this is.[/del] Serial number stating its from Series 2 of the Nagoya Arsenal. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/DxbarH5.jpg[/img_thumb] It's clearly been cut down. You can even make out what looks to be saw marks on the bottom of the barrel. It appears to be less rusty in places where there was originally wood. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/E38A8yq.jpg[/img_thumb] The forward sight seems to be not original to me. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/ifR4j4Z.jpg[/img_thumb] Rest in peace, Grandpa. If anyone knows anything more about this rifle, I'd be happy to hear from you guys. [editline]14th May 2015[/editline] Oh yeah, I don't know the story about how he got it. I have reason to think he bought it at a garage sale for $5 dollars and didn't know what it was. At least that's what Grandma thinks. He didn't fight in WWII, so I assume he didn't get it there.

That's a Type 39 rifle OVB. Also sorry to hear about your grandpa, chief. Oh yeah and regarding the current Post-86 cases going on: [url=http://media.wix.com/ugd/c601ae_cd5d52b4635c4948ad0a05977fcc3ce9.pdf]ATF just got bitchslapped hard regarding the Stemple M60 letter.[/url] Turns out the ATF let a post-86 construction slide, and now they are about to have their asses chewed out over it.

Now, I've seen people trying to trade stupid shits on sites like armslist for guns; things like Kayaks, sound systems, xboxs and playstations, but this is the first time I've seen a dood try and trade a [URL="http://floridaguntrader.com/index.php?a=2&b=519698"]vintage vacuum cleaner. [/URL]
Kirby's are actually beast vacuums. Couple grand new.
Hell yeah I bought a refurbished Kirby gen3 with forward and reverse electric drive around 13 years ago and ive had to replace exactly one part on it the whole time. Kirby's are master race as fuck. Fuck all those round plastic yuppie vacuums that swivel to turn and have fancy plastic cyclone filters, this thing could suck the white off a bitch and will keep doing so until the end of days. With minimal maintenance it will seriously outlive me. I will be dead and this Kirby will dig my grave by sucking up all the dirt. Best vacuum ever.
So... Got the Model 10 home. It has the expected timing issues, but I called the store and they will get it fixed by a smith free of charge, so no worries there. All parts matching, produced in June 1924. No commercial markings so I believe it's a police or federal gun. Very [I]loud[/I] action, very intimidating presence. I like it a lot. Pictures after I finish my ice cream. [editline]15th May 2015[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/3cJ0Nnd.jpg[/t] [editline]15th May 2015[/editline] Actually not a timing issue, the loading ramp/spring/thing is bent. Should be an easy fix. [editline]15th May 2015[/editline] Also the commercial model had a 30" barrel and this has a 26" barrel further leading me to believe it's government or police, though wikipedia notes that "The United States military also purchased a number of Remington Model 10 with 20-inch (51-cm) barrels for guarding prisoners, and 26 to 30-inch (66 to 76-cm) barrels for training aerial gunners."
After watching a few of James Yeager's videos on shotgun barrel length, I now want a short barreled shotgun. It turns out after you exit the waterfowl loads and enter buckshot territory, the barrel has a minimal impact on shotgun spread. What makes the biggest difference is the ammo used. A 14" 870 with a cylinder bore patterned the same as or better than a 26" duck shotgun with a modified choke. 8 pellet reduced recoil loads patterned the best. Who would have thought?
I don't care how smart he may try to make himself look, that guy's still a tool.
The police finally approved my PTA and I went to pick up my new Lee Enfield. It's not the nicest looking SMLE I've ever used by far but it has all the furniture, the bore is excellent and it only cost me $400. I also got 200 rounds of PPU 180 grain softpoints for AUS$255 with it. Last night on /k/ someone posed this video: [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLkTFGdp1uA[/media] A Turkish company is now making lever-action shotguns and unlike pump-action shotguns they're legal here in Australia. Preorders started yesterday and the gunshop I got the SMLE from had 20 available to preorder. There were no 20" left so I put a deposit down on one of the last 28" which unlike the 20" have a pistol grip stock. I'm going to see if I can find someone with a 20" barrel to trade with down the line. I should get it in August. Apparently NIOA (they do most of the firearms imports here in Australia) are bringing 5000 of them into the country in the next 6 months. Anyhow, my good mood was completely ruined when I got home and went to the gun safe to find that my CZ452 .17HMR was covered in rust. The last person who touched it was my brother who I lent it to a month or so back so he could go on a hunting trip. I asked him to clean it, put plenty of oil on it and then put it in the safe. He clearly didn't do steps one or two. Thankfully the rust was very light and didn't damage the finish visibly but I'm still pretty fucked off that he didn't clean it properly after I lent it to him.
Download, move to America, guns are cheaper and no one will think twice about you beating the shit out of your brother for letting one of your guns rust. [editline]16th May 2015[/editline] Plus you'll have a piss easy time picking up bitches with your accent. Chicks dig foreign accents, especially Aussie ones.
Minus the fact he wouldn't be able to purchase guns here...?

I regret not trading my M1 Carbine for an M1 Garand.
[QUOTE=darunner;47735999]I regret selling my 6 digit Springfield Garand.[/QUOTE] My 1943 Springfield Garand is going to the grave with me.
[QUOTE=mastoner20;47735833]Minus the fact he wouldn't be able to purchase guns here...?[/QUOTE] Any resident can buy guns in the US, you don't need to be a citizen. So yes, if he moved there and became a resident (which IIRC in some states means just live there for 90 days and get a state ID), he can buy guns.
[QUOTE=mastoner20;47735833]Minus the fact he wouldn't be able to purchase guns here...?[/QUOTE] Generally if he moves to a gun friendly state and stays there for a certain length of time he should be fine. I may be wrong, but I swear he can.
Last I remember it required a proof of citizenship for foreign nationals, or atleast that's what I've always been told. Obviously, I've never had that issue here.
I found a 1909 Sears-Roebuck catalog with my double barrel in it. :v: It's priced at $9.42.
And the house down the street at $65.21?
[QUOTE=DaCommie1;47736868]Any resident can buy guns in the US, you don't need to be a citizen. Something about tourists coming to the US to go hunting.
[QUOTE=mastoner20;47735833]Minus the fact he wouldn't be able to purchase guns here...?[/QUOTE] Uh... yes he would. Aliens legally in the country with an immigrant visa are allowed to purchase/own firearms here. [editline]16th May 2015[/editline] [QUOTE=DaCommie1;47736868]Any resident can buy guns in the US, you don't need to be a citizen. Non-immigrant visas (basically any temporary visa) aren't allowed to own firearms (i.e. will be denied the 4473)
From the ATF website: [quote]An alien admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa is not prohibited from purchasing, receiving, or possessing a firearm if the alien falls within one of the following exceptions: (1) is in possession of a hunting license or permit lawfully issued by the Federal Government, a State, or local government, or an Indian tribe federally recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, which is valid and unexpired; (2) was admitted to the United States for lawful hunting or sporting purposes; (3) has received a waiver from the prohibition from the Attorney General of the United States; (4) is an official representative of a foreign government who is accredited to the United States Government or the Government’s mission to an international organization having its headquarters in the United States; (5) is en route to or from another country to which that alien is accredited; (6) is an official of a foreign government or a distinguished foreign visitor who has been so designated by the Department of State; or (7) is a foreign law enforcement officer of a friendly foreign government entering the United States on official law enforcement business.[/quote] [url]https://www.atf.gov/content/may-nonimmigrant-alien-who-has-been-admitted-united-states-under-nonimmigrant-alien-visa[/url] So, if I entered the US as a nonimmigrant alien and stated my purpose for entering was for hunting or I did not state my purpose was hunting and later got a hunting permit I could buy a firearm provided I met the residency requirements for the state. This actually works for me as I want hoping if I passed my Bachelor of Engineering with a honours I could go the the US to get a Masters in nuclear engineering.
Or, if you moved here, you would be here under an immigrant visa and it would be a moot point because aliens here under an immigrant visa can also buy guns.
