I wouldn't think axle grease would be good for the bluing.
I wouldn't think axle grease would be good for the bluing.
The things so old, and well traveled I doubt there's any bluing on it anymore. There certainly isn't any on the sleeve or receiver. Besides axle grease isn't corrosive or anything, it ought to be fine.
I'm just waiting for one of you guys to say you use some sort of sex lube. Something tells me there's someone twisted enough out there with extra to do so.
Would silicone-based personal lubricant have any negative reactions with the metal, bluing, or polymers? I'll try Überlube in my Savage if it won't destroy it. It needs a good lubing. [editline]31st May 2015[/editline] For science, of course.

[editline]31st May 2015[/editline] For science, of course.
Well I don't think so, pretty sure it has to be oil based... or rather you could, but it's not really for metal, it's more for rubber parts and such
And flesh...
Überlube works on anything but silicone. It'll make 24 grit sandpaper slippery. It just very thin, so I think the question is how long it will work.
So I need to plate my gun in meat to get optimal use out of my KY?
i heard if u ask ur gf to masturbate w/ ur AR-15 bcg it will make the bullets go faster out of the hole thingy
i heard if u ask ur gf to masturbate w/ ur AR-15 bcg it will make the bullets go faster out of the hole thingy
Make sure she puts the safety on so no discharges

Seems awfully runny. Shouldn't it be thicker? :v:
Genetic defect.
Make sure she puts the safety on so no discharges
everyone has a negligent discharge their first time....
Last time I lubed my mosin, it came out brown and black Should I see a doctor?
Hey, would Breakfree CLP work for cleaning corrosive primer residue?
Hey, would Breakfree CLP work for cleaning corrosive primer residue?
Your best bet is a 1/10 ammonia, 9/10 water mixture. Run a wet patch down the barrel, over the bolt face and firing pin, and gas system if your gun has one, then another dry patch down the barrel. After that, do your normal cleaning regimen.
Breakfree does it fine in my experience but it never hurts to be double sure.
Hey, would Breakfree CLP work for cleaning corrosive primer residue?
I use windex. I brush it a few times, then plug the end of the barrel and fill the whole barrel and let it sit for a while, before another brush, rinse, and then patches. Fucking nugget surplus is dirtier than 3rd world country prostitution.

Otherwise, you're just wasting your time by dumping window cleaner down your barrel.
You're just wasting your time dumping anything but hot water down your barrel. Flush with water if you've just shot, scrub with your normal cleaner to remove built-up residue.
I go to great lengths to keep water away from my guns. The only gun I own that has gotten wet while I owned it is my Mosin and that was because I used hot water to rinse off cosmo. I'd rather use a solvent that definitely will not cause rust if I miss a drop of it while drying.
Hey, would Breakfree CLP work for cleaning corrosive primer residue?
That's what I use, seems to work just fine.
I just use Breakfree CLP, works well enough.
No clean master race, y'all. :v:
So I was watching a science video, and you know that railgun the navy is developing to put on warships? Firing the railgun uses about the same amount of energy as there is in 12 jelly dougnuts. No wonder people are so fat.
Kinda funny how when you notice that a pack of 22lr goes missing off a truck, then a pack-quantity amount of 22lr ~mysteriously~ appears on armslist that same night. Weird.

I'm tempted to buy this 1 gallon jug of breakfree. It's $100, but a .68 fl oz bottle lasted me six months across eight guns, so I don't think I'd never need to buy gun oil again.
I've seen some stupid things in my time, but responding to scientific evidence about gun control with a video from a comedy show takes the cake.
If Jon Stewart says something and the studio audience claps, then he must be right.

In smaller quantities breakfree ends up being like $0.20/ml or more. For $100 you're getting it at $0.026/ml. To put it into perspective, if you bought that 3,780ml of Breakfree in 60ml bottles you'd pay almost $700
