I can't even begin to think of the things that I would do on 9.5k acres... I would be lost in joy.
Well, 8.3k. 1200 acres are undeeded and set aside as a wildlife refuge or w/e it's called, which is common for large parcels of land to get breaks on property tax. But yeah. I'd be in heaven. Imagine waking up every morning to see the snow capped rockies, or being able to go fishing on a river running through your own property.
Hey everybody, I'm more of an AR/vintage gun peasant who's never fucked around with anything AK related but I saw these nifty looking Veprs(?) that look like your typical Battlefield dragunov thing. I understand it's just an AK made by such and such manufacturer with fancy hardware but the price w/ scope really caught my eye. Thought I'd ask y'all before I even attempted to call and ask if he still has the guns. Here's the ad, thanks in advance for any help since I'm so out of my depth! :D http://rubywantads.com/category/210/Guns-and-Outdoor/listings/138202/Vepr-762x39-and-AES10B-Rpk-for-sale-or-trade.html

VEPR imports them in a "sporter/hunter" style, so it doesn't have a retainer ring on the handguard for normal AKM furniture, doesn't have retainer ring on the gastube for normal AKM furniture, no threaded barrel, and comes with a thumb-hole stock. You'll have to dump some dosh into it for it to be a "proper" AK/RPK rifle. For that money, and the money you would put into it, you'd be better off buying a different AK. VEPR's aren't bad but they got the same problem as Saiga, being the importer doesn't care enough to convert them.
I actually like the VEPR furniture, though. It's handsome and different. I've considered shelling out the extra couple hundred on a nice Vepr just for the furniture compared to a cheaper AK. Plus they have the 54r model. [editline]9th June 2015[/editline] Has anyone tried Renaissance Wax? I think I'm going to coat my C96 with it to protect the metal, since the finish is pretty far gone. Seems like everyone who uses it loves it but I've never applied wax to a gun.
Ironwood Designs makes several stocks for the Vepr rifles, including Dragunov style stocks that makes the Vepr look exactly like an SVD. They're good rifles. Accurate and fun to shoot. If you want it, I'd get it. [editline]3:33[/editline] So guys I need someone more versed in gun law knowledge to clear something up for me. If a state has preemption of local laws, and the state does NOT have a waiting period on rifles (but does have a 3 day waiting period on handguns) is it illegal/unconstitutional for counties within the state to have a waiting period on rifles? Specifically I'm talking about Florida & two of its counties. Pinellas and one other (I can't remember which). Both extend the 3 day waiting period to rifles and shotguns. Can they do this?
Huh I never knew a toad will still hop around with its head blown off. Also, it's a lot easier to aim when I have the rifle propped up against something to take the recoil, I might buy a bipod.

People have this assumption that when a law is put into action, if it violates a parameter of another law or statement in the constitution, it gets kicked back or a pop-up window appears on a computer and denies the law from going into action or something. If an unconstitutional law is passed, its enforced until its contested and removed. To the BATFE, local laws and state laws mean fuck all. I've transferred a firearm through an FFL to myself when I was a Michigan resident but was currently inside of Georgia. Michigan's laws say you can't transfer a firearm to a Michigan resident unless they're in Michigan, or inside of a state that touches Michigan's borders, which Georgia obviously doesn't. The FFL owner called the ATF and they basically told him to do whatever he wanted, as long as I passed the background check. Georgia state senate and Michigan state senate would might get pissy if they found out, but the ATF doesn't care as long as the transfer is done properly. ATF gives no fucks about local laws.
I ended up looking it up. Looks like Florida's preemption law allows municipalities to enact their own waiting periods if they want as long as their laws don't contradict Florida gun laws in general.
Hmm since it's legal to enact waiting periods in the U.S, and also force all private sales or transfers through an FFL etc. Couldn't lawmakers just enact a 300 year waiting period if they wanted to ban guns? I don't think there are any federal laws banning 'unreasonable' waiting periods or restrictions.

I know Florida law prevents municipalities from enacting a waiting period longer than 5 business days. Also apparently there is case law preventing excessively long waiting periods already. On August 25, 2014, the California’s 10-day waiting period for gun purchases was ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California which found that "the 10-day waiting periods of Penal Code [sections 26815(a) and 27540(a)] violate the Second Amendment" as applied to members of certain classifications and "burdens the Second Amendment rights of the Plaintiffs". MUZZLE BRAHE
Am I the only one can see the small indentation on the right side of the letter that lets me know it's a heavily stylized 'K'? Also why doesn't it have any vents on the top to control vertical climb?
AK74's fire like 22's. Very little felt recoil
That's no fun. Take the recoil like a man. [editline]10th June 2015[/editline] Also I didn't ask why the brake was so big I understand the concept of it. I asked why it didn't have vents on the top to control vertical climb. I'd assume it still has a fair degree of it since it's only venting gas to the side and back to compensate for felt recoil.
Would 64gr Federal Fusion SP in .223 be a good choice on large birds?
If by large birds you mean emus or ostriches, sure.
Did someone bought the HCAR? You know, the modern B.A.R.
.
Does putting neverwet on guns actually keep them clean? What if I coat the inside of the barrel with it?
Why not just clean your guns
Why not just clean your guns
Because I'm lazy, and it's only fun when you have to do it once a month.
WHY THE FUCK IS YOUR WEAPON ON SEMI FRONT LEANING-REST POSITION MOVE
i dont believe in the safety switch. IF THERE'S A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER I'M DANGEROUS that and you can't put the safety on the AR without the hammer being back.
i dont believe in the safety switch. IF THERE'S A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER I'M DANGEROUS that and you can't put the safety on the AR without the hammer being back.
I pretty much leave it on fire with nothing in the chamber 24/7.
snip for now
Quick question If someone were to put a tiny barrel on an AR, and take off the stock, would it still be a SBR, or could it be a really big pistol?
Quick question If someone were to put a tiny barrel on an AR, and take off the stock, would it still be a SBR, or could it be a really big pistol?
They have AR pistol lowers for about the same price as a rifle lower. It would count as a pistol and not a SBR. [editline]10th June 2015[/editline] as far as the stock question goes specifically though im not sure. Let me know if you find that out because I would love to take this little guy out to the range but I can only shoot it on private property with it being an SBR and I don't have it stamped yet Edit: General consensus after googling is that if it is considered a rifle lower out of the factory, the gun can not ever be considered a pistol even with stock removed. But if it is considered a pistol lower when leaving the factory, you're good. Man there are some really arbitrary laws on firearms when you think of how easily modifiable ARs are, pistol lower or not. Edit: fml i should have just bought the pistol lower for $10 more and grabbed a stock that slips over that foamdiddle.
NFA is retarded
I think I'd prefer the $200 stamp instead of sinking $170 into another lower and probably $30 for a stock that can't extend shidddd. I've been doomed from the start.
