Just get the stamp if you want an SBR. The peace of mind is worth it, although I don't know if you're supposed to get the stamp before or after building the SBR.

I kind of want to get an old Hi-Power with the stock iron. Those and my C96 are the only pistols exempt from the no-stock-without-stamp rule. It'd be fun to have both. The outdoor range I shoot at has an obstacle course they train cops on and I ran it with my C96 with the stock attached. It was fun as hell.
why doesn't it have any vents on the top to control vertical climb?
3 holes are the same for the bottomside of the brake too. gas directs 360 degrees around and behind the shooter, unlike my dtk-2 which seems to explode gas horizontaly and dramatically to both left and right sides however that brake is meant for a 7.62 and this is a 5.45 specific
Could you put a foregrip on the "pistol" AR, or is that taboo too?
you mean the negotiator handle
I usually separate my upper and lower when its in storage because that barrel length on a rifle stock is legally frowned upon
I hope you're not saying what I think you're saying. [editline]10th June 2015[/editline]
Could you put a foregrip on the "pistol" AR, or is that taboo too?
You're not supposed to have a foregrip on a pistol (doing so turns it into an AOW iirc) but no one REALLY enforces it on AK/AR pistols

Question: how does building an AR from a 80% compare to just buying it from a cost standpoint?
I usually separate my upper and lower when its in storage because that barrel length on a rifle stock is legally frowned upon
You realize that even if they're separated it's considered to be constructive intent and they can still nail you in the butt with a NFA violation. uuuuuurgh my neighbors called and filled a noise complaint when I was shooting yesterday and today. The cops came and talked to me and asked if I could shoot in the field behind my backyard so the neighbors don't call anymore, apparently they were at my house yesterday too but nobody answered the door. I need to find a close range and get my PAL approved soon. I'm moving to the city anyway next month :/
You realize that even if they're separated it's considered to be constructive intent and they can still nail you in the butt with a NFA violation.
I'm gettin it stamped (the lower) before I even assemble/shoot it, I pretty much just now became aware of all the technicalities of the law
I'm gettin it stamped (the lower) before I even assemble/shoot it, I pretty much just now became aware of all the technicalities of the law
Again, even if it's completely disassembled, an asshole cop or ATF officer could pin you with an NFA violation. I suggest either storing the lower/upper with a friend or parent, or not talking about it ever.
Yeah I will probably just store the upper elsewhere for now. Just been reading about how to get it all legal.

Best off getting separate uppers and lowers so they can't nail you; that being said, you did post a picture of yourself online flouting federal law with the serial number somewhat visible.

I'm going to move the upper, lol.
oooorrrrrrrr buy a "pistol" lower, so just in case the FBI kicks in your door, you can say that your intent was to only use the teeny barrel with the pistol lower.
Yeah I will probably just store the upper elsewhere for now. But the ATF could nail you on that if they couldn't nail you on anything else. They've used that before to put away guys who were making a living selling guns without a license. Not selling illegal guns, just buying low and selling high with firearms.

I don't think they would want to nail me with anything unless they were just being extraordinary dicks since I'm attempting to get it done up properly. But I like to play it safe these days

If you're shooting on your own property there's legally nothing wrong with what you're doing, and it can only be considered "disturbing the peace" if it's after a certain time at night. At least that's how it works in 'MURRIKA Still. Your neighbors complaining doesn't sound very Canadian eh? Very impolite.

No idea if any of its true, but if it is, that guys laywer must have been huffing paint fumes.
The adapter is the registered silencer, not the oil filter.

Really? Christ, that defeats the whole purpose. [editline]10th June 2015[/editline] Are you guys gonna hate me for saying it should be illegal to make real guns look like toys? Because this should really be illegal.
I dont think it should be illegal to make them look that way, but maybe something regarding carrying something like that openly. As it is pretty deceptive in appearance
