Tell your neighbors to go fuck themselves. If you're shooting on your own property there's legally nothing wrong with what you're doing, and it can only be considered "disturbing the peace" if it's after a certain time at night. At least that's how it works in 'MURRIKA Still. Your neighbors complaining doesn't sound very Canadian eh? Very impolite.
Yeah, well the cops told us they have young kids out in the backyard and they don't want me scaring them according to the caller. The way I see it, if I keep shooting every day the cops are going to keep getting called and I don't want to piss them off enough to find a reason to fine me for breaking some obscure bylaw.
Really? Christ, that defeats the whole purpose. [editline]10th June 2015[/editline] Are you guys gonna hate me for saying it should be illegal to make real guns look like toys? Because this should really be illegal.
Rather, it should be illegal to have toys that look like real guns. Airshit and any other toy guns shouldn't ever try to replicate real guns. Because you should mount it on an 84mm
Anyone know of any halfway decent retention holsters for a double stack Makarov? All I can find is this: http://www.bigsupplyshop.com/SigTac-RHS-PdlRet-Makarov-9x18-HOL-RPR-MAK_p_33681.html And apparently its a pretty crappy fit. [editline]11th June 2015[/editline] Push button retention holster, that is. Not like a Fobus or whatever
You could just go to a leather worker and get one custom made for your gun. I got a holster made for my 1911 for $50. e: Oh, a retention holster. Oops.
any UK or ireland gun owners in this thread? interested in your experiences with legal hindrances and what not. been wanting to consider shooting as a hobby but i don't know where to start [editline]11th June 2015[/editline] i don't really get why people would have any specific thought process on wanting to ban people from giving firearms 'unrealistic' or 'toy like' colour tones or vice-versa with airsoft. it's fine as long as they're only exposed in a controlled and private environment, like they should be telling people to not paint firearms to prevent crimes related is pretty much useless considering any criminal with intent of doing something like that can easily plasti-dip something in a couple of hours and just as easily reverse it. all it would do is hinder people who just want to paint their sport rifle with neon tiger stripes so they can get laughed at
Why the fuck wouldn't you inform neighbours you were shooting if you knew they were in hearing range? That's the most basic respect and consideration you can have as a gun owner. Not everyone likes hearing shots from around the corner all day long. You deserve everything coming if you couldn't take five minutes to go over and say "oi, I was going to shoot a bit in my yard, is that OK with you guys?"
I did, they said they were fine with it. But thats just two of the guys who live there, the problem is there's like 15 russians living in that house. They have hummers, speed boats, ATV's, canoes, and a dump truck just sitting in their backyard too. [img_thumb]http://i.4cdn.org/k/1434051119815.jpg[/img_thumb]

Whether or not they're OK with it has no bearing on the matter it's his yard not theirs.
Minus the last bit. Whether or not they're OK with it has no bearing on the matter it's his yard not theirs.
well yes, but it's nice to not be rude to your neighbors. talk over a schedule. don't be arrogant.
well yes, but it's nice to not be rude to your neighbors. talk over a schedule. don't be arrogant.
"A schedule" This is America we shoot our guns whenever we want, not on a schedule that's convenient to people who should mind their own business. This kind of thing right here is exactly why I miss living in the country.
It's just being considerate man

It would be better if suppressors weren't so heavily regulated.

This kind of thing right here is exactly why I miss living in the country.
Yea see that sort of attitude is the sort of arrogant bullshit why everyone hates Americans. Gunshots are loud and annoying, and for soccer moms they're scary (whether you like it or not, most soccer moms don't like violence or guns). It's basic human fuckin decency to go talk to your neighbors and find out when it's OK for you to be a loud selfish asshole.
if you want to be the kind of person nobody likes, go ahead [editline]12th June 2015[/editline] i for one enjoy not making enemies of my neighbors if you want to shoot all day every day without giving any consideration then perhaps the deep countryside would be the best option.
Please. That's an American past-time as traditional as bad beer, muscle cars, NASCAR, and baseball. But not apple pie; that's Danish, and screw them, they didn't help us fight the British.
It's like if you blasted some shitty Norwegian death metal if you live in apartment complex on a Sunday afternoon. Not everyone is going to mind but someone is going to get pissed at you for ruining their 1 day off a week with your shitty music. It's basic human decency not to be a noisy asshole if you have neighbors around, doesn't matter if it's blaring music, shooting guns, or having chainsaw fights.
it's the conversations like this which remind me of my neighbors that love to blast eastern european donk from their BMW's in the early hours of the night coincidentally, nobody really talks to them.
Just got my Mini 14 threaded, and put a ruger flash hider on it. I decided to film the test shooting, and thought I'd share it here :) It was filmed with my cellphone, carefully placed on my shooting bag so there isn't any fancy camera work. I love the little "ping" sound from the flash hider every time the rifle is fired. I'm also running Tula Ammo, which seemed to run really smooth (haven't tested accuracy though).
Local gun store is selling cz 75s. Anyone have any bad stories about them?
Local gun store is selling cz 75s. Anyone have any bad stories about them?
No, nobody has any bad stories about them ever. If they do, then it was their fault, not the gun's. The 75 is one of the best pistols.
Local gun store is selling cz 75s. Anyone have any bad stories about them?
I find the controls awkward but the grip ergonomics are second to none. YMMV.

Perfect for hunting, perfect for any scenario that requires 30+ rounds since it takes AR15 mags.
.....Mini14's do not take AR mags brosky. [editline]12th June 2015[/editline]
I don't care what my neighbors think of me. But if you live where theres a neighbor in close proximity, regardless if you care what they think of you, you could be a decent human being and go ask them if it's ok for you to be a loud noisy asshole. Seriously, that arrogance is how you get people to hate you real quick. I realize that you live life on the edge and you don't care what people think about you, but that still makes you a colossal asshole.
.....Mini14's do not take AR mags brosky.
What? Bullshit since when? Everyone I ever talked to about Mini-14's said they take AR mags. Fuck. I know my laws and rights. Where I used to live down in Orlando but only in Orange County, outside of city limits, my house butted up against a wooded area surrounding a lake. I contacted the police, they said since I was out of city limits I could shoot in my own property. So I went around to all the neighbors and said "Hey just letting you know I'm going to be sighting in a few of my rifles in my back yard". I'm not a colossal asshole. I just don't care if they're not ok with it. I inform, not ask for permission I don't need.
Ares SCR takes AR mags
I don't think it was that. That looks cool as fuck but what I remember taking AR mags had a wooden stock...
Never at any point in time has a Mini14 been able to take AR mags.
Like I said. Maybe I'm thinking of something else. There's gotta be some other semiautomatic rifle with a wood stock that takes AR mags. That being said it is kind of weird that the Mini-14 DOESN'T take AR mags. Why wouldn't Ruger make it STANAG compatible?

You can get 30 round ar-15 magazines for <$10, why would you pay $40 or more for ruger's?
Money. You can get 30 round ar-15 magazines for <$10, why would you pay $40 or more for ruger's?
This... doesn't answer my question at all.
If you don't think it answers your question, you don't understand business. He definitely answered why Ruger doesn't make STANAG compatible Minis.
