• Can I get some feedback on a few pieces?

Hi there, I'm gonna leave this pieces here and hope that someone has some comments to give, thanks. This piece is a recording for my Music Tech course for school, recorded in Logic Pro 8: (Nirvana - Something In The Way) We are marked on the quality of the recording, not the quality of the musicianship, so I'm mainly after feedback relating to the recording side of things. This piece is also for school, and is an arrangement based on the stimulus "Can't Get You Out of My Head" by Kylie Minogue, in a trip-hop style. Also sequenced in Logic Pro 8, I used a mixture of audio samples from other songs, such as the stimulus itself and Can's "Come Esta, La Luna", prepared audio samples such as live guitar and piano, and software instruments. Tell me what you think, I'm in need of some feedback to improve these pieces and help them move on.
A/S music tech, eh? Your links are broken man.
just realised the links were broken, they're fixed now.
Not bad. Vocals need to come way down in your recording- And just clearing it up, you're technically marked on closeness to the original piece. Trip hop piece is good.
Thanks for the advice, I'll work on that, and really? I probably need to read up a bit more on the mark scheme for the recording. Cheers!
Yep, you should be able to find the spec online/ask your teacher about it. I personally don't believe that's how it's marked though- what examiner has time to listen to the original and mark how close it is? I'd personally go for the same general production style and make it sound as good as you can. That's what I did, and I banged out a 98% on my arrangement!
Nice! Also can you recommend how to bring out the toms more in the drum track?
For the recording? how was the kit miced up?
you could stand to sing with a bit more confidence
