Anyone know a movie similar to Drive or has some of the same themes?
Thief (1981)
The Last Man on Earth, but that's pretty much the original I Am Legend. I've heard it's better, though.
I just watched it. It was a bit better, but I only really liked the first 20 minutes of it when Vincent Price was just doing his thing being all alone in the world. Honestly I wouldn't mind a movie that's just one guy doing routine stuff and he's the last guy on earth.
Tremors.
I normally don't classify that under giant monster movies, but hey, it's still good. [editline]24th January 2013[/editline]
Any horrors that will scare the shit out of me and has loads of tension. Fucked up movies would be cool too. [sp]they have to be good[/sp]
If you haven't seen them already, there's John Carpenter's The Thing and the The Evil Dead, my personal favorites. [editline]24th January 2013[/editline] And Cronenberg's The Fly.
Okay, "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" was a really good movie I would recommend it. Full movie: http://vimeo.com/23843187
Movies where the protagonist, in order to protect a loved one, becomes something that the loved one fears/hates? I really like that sort of theme.
something with character progression, a great storyline, like where you see the character start from shit and slowly becomes badass or a boss etc? Also apocalypse movies, like 28 days / weeks later, i am legend, zombies blah blah ? Honestly just recommend some great ass movies, ive got all next week off so im going movie palooza. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] I also like sci fi movies like alien, shit like that. And by recommend me movies, i mean lets go ham and name your top 5- 10 of all time.
looking for some good comedy movies, going to toss out some of my favorites for an idea of my type of comedy Monty Python, Airplane!, Naked Gun, Hot Fuzz, Black Dynamite

give me some recent movies (2010-2012) that I probably haven't heard of all I want is that it has a good cast and not a bunch of phaggy no name actors nobody ever gave a shit about
Anybody got a good Studio Gibli recommendation? I've seen Totoro and Spirited Away from them, but that's it. Anything else for a good night up being comfy?
I want more 60's-80's war films I've already seen Where Eagles Dare Das Boot The Dambusters A Bridge Too Far Bridge on the River Kwai The Guns of Navarrone Operation Crossbow The Dirty Dozen U-571 The Battle of Britain The Great Escape basically just something in the vein of crack commando unit goes into nazi territory and fucks shit up
Anyone know some good Chinese fantasy epics (more recent preferable)? Some idea I can think of is like "Curse of the Golden Flower" or "Wu Ji(The Promise)". I'm looking more into the fantasy part than action parts (sword fighting, etc). Sorry for bad description.
Any sci-fi films from 2000 and forward that I might not have seen? Have seen most older sci-fi films.
Talking of Sci-fi films, I've heard a lot about BladeRunner, is it a good film?
not a bunch of phaggy no name actors nobody ever gave a shit about
why are you so bad sometimes the best performances come from (at the time) no names all the biggest stars were once no names and even so who cares if a movie has a not-famous cast god you're just the worst ever nobody even dignify this dudes post with a recommendation until he's even old enough to be on the internet

Usually these films such as the Hurt Locker are overated sacks of shit but I really enjoyed this one and as I remember the character goes from zero to hero..... or does he?
Just gonna put this out here and say this movie was pretty good. It probably did not get as much hype because it was produced by a Russian company... i think. Its an English movie though. 2 planets, we will call Earth 1 and Earth 2 are about to collide where the only thing that stops them is the negative attraction of both gravitational pulls. Its a romantic/sci fi/action movie.

That is the second movie in two years that Kirsten Dunst has starred in that involves Earth colliding with another planet. Weird.

Anything else for a good night up being comfy?
If you liked Spirited Away you should watch Howl's Moving Castle. Princess Mononoke is my favorite but it has an entirely different tone. If you want to see a man killed by a racoon's ballsack then Pom Poko might be worth a watch, it drags on a little bit though. Honestly you should just watch as many of them as possible. [editline]27th January 2013[/editline] Grave of the Fireflies is really good too but don't expect to feel happy for a while afterwards.
Anybody got a good Studio Gibli recommendation? I've seen Totoro and Spirited Away from them, but that's it. Anything else for a good night up being comfy?
from what I've heard, Princess Mononoke is really good. in other news i want some blaxploitation movies
This isn't really a movie, but are there any movies that have a Twilight Zone quality? Love the series, trying to find more things like it.
