Jackie Chan's best film ever I've watched Around the World in 80 Days, Shinjiku Incident, Operation Condor 1 & 2, Supercop, part of Project A, The Accidental Spy, The Medallion, and The Tuxedo. Operation Condor 1 & 2 are my favorite so far, so I'm looking for more Chan flicks.
all the police story's, rush hour 1 & 2, city hunter (although i heard jackie really hated city hunter for some reason???), mr. nice guy oh let's not forget the young master
I can't figure out if it was ever translated to English
It was, I have it on DVD and it has subtitles and everything. [editline]15th December 2012[/editline]
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6CFB9A4BE37013E7 it's subbed, what I believe to be the english version looks like it was removed from youtube. Edit: There is no english version
Also this works for me.
Seen it :v:
I'm struggling a bit with the ambiguity of the term 'artsy'. Do you mean a film that's actually aware of and having to do with art? Or do you mean an artfully crafted animated film? I really enjoyed Princess Mononoke and Grave of the Fireflies recently, which were particularly well made and good looking. They're big Studio Ghibli productions though, you may have seen them already.
Also I am myself looking for an artsy movie, not indie artsy but animation artsy(anime totally acceptable)
Titan A.E. Castle in the Sky Spirited Away [editline]15th December 2012[/editline] Also Nausica of the Valley of the Wind
Gang dramas like Boyz in the hood and Menace 2 Society please.

But yea I've seen pretty much every Studio Ghibli movie except Nausica which The_J_Hat mentioned and tales of earthsea. So I might check those out since they seem to fit the criteria very well. The deal is that I really love these kinds of movies so I've seen pretty much all of them, but I'm always looking for any that I might've missed. Every film you've mentioned so far fit what I am looking for even though I've seen them so thanks anyway.
A good horror movie with nothing similar to a jump scare.
American horror movies have been boring lately. Too predicable and not particularly scary. Gore just doesn't do it for me anymore. Now I'm into Japanese horror movies. They're usually incredibly psychological and will have you hiding under your covers at night. This should get you started: http://japanverse.com/2012/10/top-10-japanese-horror-movies-you-probably-havent-seen/
Good crime drama/drugworld movies please? On that note; The Panic in Needle Park is great. Al Pacino is amazing in it, and it's not afraid to be gritty. His first big movie role.
Looking for another movie like Yojimbo, an old school samurai flick.
Looking for another movie like Yojimbo, an old school samurai flick.
Basically everything else from Kurosawa :v: Sanjuro , Seven Samurai. Take a look here http://www.criterion.com/explore/3-akira-kurosawa

That would defeat the entire purpose of the twist.. [editline]17th December 2012[/editline]
Looking for another movie like Yojimbo, an old school samurai flick.
Harakiri is good. [editline]17th December 2012[/editline] someone recommend me a nice classic epic, not something fantasy/historical, unless it's post-1900. Thanks.
A Monster Movie like the American 1998 Godzilla or Cloverfield would be awesome. I'm a huge fan of these kind of movies but I dont know any other movies that feature giant monsters rampaging through cities (except the japanese Godzilla but I dont really like that one). Any suggestions?
