I can't recommend Leon enough
Anything that invokes a similar feeling like "Hanna" (2011)?
Do you mean like, movies focusing on unstoppable young female assassins or something? Or just assassins and killers in general?

Haywire?
any films that includes torturing women? i dont know, like hostel, captivity, etc. sorry if that sounds so sick haha. i swear, my gf asked me for these movies..
'Story of O' and 'Salo 120 days of sodom' a wildcard would be Silence of the Lambs.
preferably some sci-fi action movie series.
The Terminator and Terminator 2
Robocop
Dredd
Those should hold you for a little while.

I also recommend Serenity, but it helps if you've watched Firefly. And if you have a week, you should be able to watch the whole series in that time.
Don't know if this deserves a new thread, but what do you guys think of Netflix? Is it worth getting?

i believe there's a netflix thread somewhere
if you like watching old and new tv shows, plus netflix has a few of their own shows coming out, and movies, then yes i suggest getting netflix. are you thinking of just getting it for streaming or for dvds as well?

lol I swear this question gets asked every couple of pages. Do you want sci fi thrillers exclusive to outer space or just thrillers dealing with science fiction?

something with like a cool unknown enemy sort of thing i guess, or a strange creature. not stuff like super 8 though. it's weird, hard to tell where the line is. but a monster movie maybe, but with something else to it.

Cabin in the Woods suit your fancy? Try anything on Syfy otherwise.

Well you've always got 'The Thing'
Maybe 'Alien' and 'Aliens' if you haven't watched them already
Maybe you'll like 'Sunshine' but it doesn't have any space monsters/cosmic horrors. Still check it out if you haven't already.
'Jacob's Ladder' doesnt take place in space or whatever but it does flow really really well with the unknown horror deal. It's good and unsettling as hell.
'Pitch Black' is also pretty cool. It's got Vin Diesel as Riddick, strange creatures and space.
'The Descent' isnt really sci fi but it's just as claustrophobic as pandorum + event horizon if not more so plus it has strange creatures.

Maybe 'Leviathan' starring Peter Weller/Robocop

'Mimic' is pretty cool. A lot of people I know haven't seen it. You should see it.
Does anyone know any less known Fantasy adventure films that are huge in scope apart from the obvious ones.
Any other larger-than-life-period-piece-character-studies like The Great Gatsby or The Aviator?
There Will Be Blood
Hey guys i'd be greatly indebted if you could recommend some documentaries about:
1.Europe's history and geography
2.Urban & cosmopolitan life, multiculturalism, cities and such;if it were based on viewpoints of economic &historic it would be great
3.Economy/companies/finances, when where how it all started and how it spread.
Thanks

Citizen Kane
Someone recommend me one of those HD nature movies where animals look good and shit and have sex everywhere.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
If TV series' are good, then check out Blue Planet, Africa, March of the Penguins, pretty much anything by David Attenbrough.
Is there a big list of recommended Thriller/Serial killer films in the vein of Se7en? I'm all for dumb slashers ala Friday 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street, but sometimes it's nice for the antagonist to be clever and ahead.

You could always check out 'Manhunter', 'Silence of the Lambs', 'Red Dragon', 'Saw', 'Zodiac', 'Mr Brooks', 'Insomnia', 'Fallen' and 'Psycho' if you haven't already seen them.
I've always wondered if there are any good horror-mystery films that feature a mostly unseen "evil" that hates everything? Ju-On and Ringu being the most notable examples. Paranormal Activity falls into this category as well. I suppose it doesn't necessarily need to be that narrow, because the main reason I like these kind of films is because I'm not really a fan of the type of "action-horror" involving a guy in a spooky mask and a chainsaw chasing teenagers around; a threat stays scarier the less of it you see.

Thanks
]Theres some great stuff on youtube. The Islamic sieges of Vienna and Malta are good things to learn about. Plenty of stuff on there.
Okay I've got some more
I loved Sin City, if there's more like that I gotta know
Also some multiverse/universe jumping movies would be great. I'm in a Bioshock Infinite mood

Oof, sorry mate, dunno any more movies similar to Sin City. I'd fully take the blame but tbh, I don't think the technology for such stylistic comic book noir imagery was around for very long. Hence the lack of movies similar in style to Sin City/The Spirit. If you want, you can specify what you liked about that style and I'll try to remember something similar.
As for the universe jumping movies thing, would you also accept movies that deal with alternate realities/time travelling? If you did, here are the movies you could check out:
The One
Source Code
Frequency
Back to the Future movies
The Butterfly Effect
Coraline
Donnie Darko
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths
Mr. Nobody
Yeah sorry that's all I got.

I just meant the general sense of excitement, nutty weirdness and unexpected plot.

You probably seen 'Cloverfield'?
You probably seen 'Cloverfield'?
I haven't yet, actually, I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks!
Any more? I've recently acquired "Session 9" but haven't watched it yet.
