Any good samurai movies? Not The Last Samurai.
There are plenty of good jidaigeki films, The Last Samurai is a great film as well but I would not consider it a jidaigeki film. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Jidaigeki_films http://www.imdb.com/list/e7Hy007cklQ/ More notable films include pretty much anything by Kurosawa, the Zatoichi series (27 films and a tv show), and 13 Assassins for starters.
Any good samurai movies? Not The Last Samurai.
I'm a little disappointed you had to specify not The Last Samurai Who do you think we are? IMDB?
Any good samurai movies? Not The Last Samurai.
Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Seven Samurai
Any good samurai movies? Not The Last Samurai.
Shogun Assassin
Event Horizon perhaps?
I need a really good horror movie, good as in actually good. Not cheap 'jump at camera' scares. I've seen the thing, sinister, insidious, among others. I haven't seen the conjuring yet, but are there any others?
I'm finding it really hard to find such movies. A couple of movies that are primarily characterized by ominousness over "in-your-face" scares that I know of are The Others, Reincarnation, [Rec] and The Blair Witch Project. [editline]14th August 2013[/editline]
Event Horizon perhaps?
And that. Though it's hard science fiction and does indeed have jump scares, if I recall correctly.
While EH does have a few jump scares, its still eerie and ominous
I also left out Ju-On: The Grudge, which is one personal favorite but I'm not sure where to place it on the jump-scare scale. [editline]14th August 2013[/editline] Speaking of horror; has anyone seen Grave Encounters? Is it good?

I have a 4 hour car ride ahead of me. And on top of that, I have a long 24 hours of travel time a couple days after that. I've seen a SHITLOAD of movies so can anyone just generally recommend movies for me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, then probably not Rolling Kansas. But then again, I haven't seen it in years, so I really don't know. I just remember it was about a bunch of friends looking for a magical marijuana forest.
Thanks guys!
Also because they didn't mention it, watch Stalingrad
A movie thats actually meaningful and not soft-core porn?
I'm quite okay with both things. They tend to have a nice overall theme that makes me somewhat happy, and i'm just really in a mood to watch one
Can anyone suggest a comedy full of dry or dark humour? Or maybe something a little wilder like Django unchained. So long as it's funny and witty without being one of those awful american family things for illiterate children who can't laugh without revealing stupidity. Edit: watched pulp fiction

In Bruges
So I'm supposed to watch a movie on our philosophy course and analyze it. Only requirement is, that it has to be about society or have themes regarding society (Since it's social philosophy). Any ideas?
