Transsiberian is good albeit a little slow in the beginning, but interesting if you have the time. It's an indie movie with Woody Harrelson and Ben Kingsley
oh that does sound good, thanks!
On the subject of Kingsley Suspect Zero is amazing.
Heist movies other than Heat?
Heist movies other than Heat?
Ocean's Trilogy, Inception, Kubrick's The Killing, Dog Day Afternoon, arguably.
Heist movies other than Heat?
Ocean's 11 is a must see The Town is alright Point Break is a good old cheesy movie
Is Napoleon Dynamite a must-see ?
Recommend movies that are unendurably sad/depressing.
Is there any good time travel movie that uses [sp]stable time loops[/sp] like 12 Monkeys? Out of those I've seen it's the only film that does it.
Timecrimes from Spain, great film and came from a rec' on her. [editline]24th November 2013[/editline]
Recommend movies that are unendurably sad/depressing.
Blue Valentine and Benjamin Button. Oh English Patient too.
Is Napoleon Dynamite a must-see ?
Depends on if you like awkward teen comedies. It's not bad.
Is Napoleon Dynamite a must-see ?
You'll either love it or hate it judging from the reactions of people I know
You'll either love it or hate it judging from the reactions of people I know
It was another Scott Pilgrim kind of thing, polarised so many after seeing it.
Anyone have any enjoyable films of medieval or earlier times? I love Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven, if thats a good indication of what I'd like. I'll take any suggestions though.

Try Apocalypto for wayyyy earlier then medieval times. oh, and Ironclad is a very good movie, it's on Netflix I believe, was way more enjoyable then it looked.

Valhalla Rising is another good movie, but it's more like a bad acid trip instead of a viking adventure. Still, a good movie.
Ok I'll try give them a try. I have seen Troy, 300 and Beowulf, but it might be time for rewatching them. I remember how incredibly loud the opening scene of Beowulf was at the movie theatre :v:
Movies like Carriers, V/H/S, and Reekers please.
Try Apocalypto for wayyyy earlier then medieval times.
Apocalypto is actually set in the late 1400s anyway, I want to watch a good horror movie without jumpscares that isn't a classic that everybody knows
Apocalypto is actually set in the late 1400s anyway, I want to watch a good horror movie without jumpscares that isn't a classic that everybody knows
I don't think I could name a horror movie that doesn't have at least one jump scare, but there are quite few that doesn't rely on them as a primary fright device. The recent 'The Conjuring' was surprisingly good, but you've probably seen it. I'd also recommend Reincarnation, Blair Witch Project, The Others, Grave Encounters...
Apocalypto is actually set in the late 1400s anyway, I want to watch a good horror movie without jumpscares that isn't a classic that everybody knows
I have no idea why I thought the myans came before medieval times
Apocalypto is actually set in the late 1400s anyway, I want to watch a good horror movie without jumpscares that isn't a classic that everybody knows
Pandorum, but I think there are a couple jumpscares in it. I haven't seen it in awhile, but I remember enjoying it.

i'd like a good dark comedy film to watch i really liked big nothing, seven psychopaths, and i just got done watching in bruges
Fight Club Shaun of the Dead (not totally dark, but has its moments) The World's End (again, not totally dark, but has its moments) Pulp Fiction (depending on how you look at it, it can be really funny) The Ladykillers [editline]1st December 2013[/editline] Also, Burke and Hare, but I've not seen it and it has iffy reviews from Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, which I put no faith towards whatsoever, so that's up in the air. [editline]1st December 2013[/editline] One last film- Death at a Funeral. There's an American version and a British version (which is arguably better).
damn, the only one i havent seen is ladykillers thanks for the help though
Toss Beetlejuice in there if you haven't seen it already, then.
Bernie is a black comedy but not so much that it's really jokey but more that the situation is just really odd. I don't know if it'd fit your criteria but I may as well try. [editline]30th November 2013[/editline] It also has Jack Black's best acting, ever
Would Fargo qualify? Sounded to me like a funny, yet kind of morbid film.
i'd like a good dark comedy film to watch i really liked big nothing, seven psychopaths, and i just got done watching in bruges
Lars and the real girl
Lars and the real girl
I love that film.. It's hilarious but at the same time so fucking heartfelt. World's Greatest Dad, Happiness, Sexy Beast and my personal favourite Survive Style 5+ all great underrated dark comedy films, although rusty thinks World's Greatest Dad is the most depressing film I think it's such an affirmation that dark comedy works. [editline]1st December 2013[/editline]
Would Fargo qualify?
