Recommend me a damn hilarious movie. I want to laugh
Hot Fuzz Shaun of the Dead The World's End The Big Lebowski Burn After Reading Raising Arizona Monty Python and the Holy Grail Along with what everyone else said.
Didn't know we were putting The Worlds End on there already. Haven't seen it yet though, is it that good? I've heard it was mediocre

-woops wrong thread-
Seen these all. I watched Groundhog Day, it was pretty funny.
Any of the Naked Gun movies if you haven't seen them.
I went literally roflmao at these films when I was a kid, not sure about today though.. [editline]27th December 2013[/editline] Maybe check "Bad Liutenant" (however the fuck it's spelled) it's pretty funny and has Nicholas Cage in it, which is fun because he's acting 200% when compared to the other actors acting 100%.
Napoleon Dynamite?
looking for a sad movie not green mile kind of sad, it's hard to explain what kind of sad I'm looking for it's like the kind of sadness in romantic movies, or the kind that explore the struggle to recover from personal loss [editline]28th December 2013[/editline] or the kind that short films always seem to execute perfectly
Just watched The Man from Nowhere, and it was amazing, anyone know any other good foreign films of the same style?

i don't know that's why it's hard to explain i'm just in the mood for a sad movie [editline]28th December 2013[/editline] think the scene of ellie and carl's relationship in up though that kind of thing is a good example
The Machinist, Band of Brothers, Flags of our Fathers, sort of Blade Runner, Moon, Requiem for a Dream, sort of Blood Diamond, sort of Prisoners and Eastern Promises Most of these movies are more depressing than sad but ymmv Band of Brothers is as good as you're gonna get with struggling from personal loss imo
i watched requiem for a dream a few days ago for the first time that wasn't really sad in the sense of like crying but more just horribly depressing/a huge downer also seen band of brothers and i think it's probably one of the best if not the best tv series i've ever watched

a comedy on the lines of Horrible Bosses/This is the End? With a general immature sense of humor, but that is not too dumb. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece, as long as it has a bunch of laughs and doesn't suck I'm ok with watching it. "We're the Millers" caught my eye. worth it?
It's dumb and entertaining. Sure.

I didn't like it all that much, but I'm not always up for stupid humor.
I like scifi movies with amazing tech (think Blade Runner, District 9, Elysium, Oblivion, etc.) I also like 'mindfuck' movies like [sp]Fight Club[/sp] You guys got anything?
we're the millers is despicably bad
I like scifi movies with amazing tech (think Blade Runner, District 9, Elysium, Oblivion, etc.)
newest total recall it's meh but has neat visuals and is pretty entertaining

How is anyone that hasn't seen the movie supposed to know what's behind the tags in order to not spoil themselves?
Anyone got any good movies similar to Silver Linings Playbook? I loved that movie. [editline]30th December 2013[/editline] 2012 was a shamefully good year for movies. Looper, Skyfall, Seven Psychopaths, Silver Linings Playbook, Django Unchained, Jagten, Moonrise Kingdom are all somewhere on my top 15 and they were all released in 2012. There were also many movies I consider really good but not on my top 15, like Cloud Atlas, The Dark Knight Rises, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Les Misérables, Argo, Mud, Flight, Prometheus, Lawless, The Cabin in the Woods, Dredd, End of Watch, Safety Not Garantueed, Robot & Frank, Kon-Tiki, The Hobbit. 2012 was good. 2013 wasn't too bad either, but man oh man 2012.
Do you lovely people know any emotional movies/videos that allow you to feel intensely the emotions that arise in the story, such as grief, joy, anger, fear, sadness, etc.? I don't know any but I need to find some. Thank you
I really really recommend the Danish movie The Hunt (Jagten) makes you sad and angry. I Am Sam is touching. Some movies like Hatchiko: A dog's tale, The Iron Giant, Gran Torino, the Pursuit of Happiness etc. aren't emotional throughout but have some really emotional scenes. The Perks of Being a Wallflower can be a painful watch, as well.
Thank you so much, it is greatly appreciated.
Incendes from the director who did Prisoners.
Thank you very much!
looking for some good movies released within the last year (or two if it's really worth watching) I like anything that isn't horror. thanks!
