I want a movie with awesome special effects that are not CGI. I just love the effects for The Thing and Hellraiser.

Outland, a good sci fi movie starring Sean Connery. Think of it as a old western in outer space minus the revolvers and horses
Event Horizon
Futureworld
Something with space battles, preferably gratuitous ones, but not Star Trek or Star Wars.
Serenity is pretty good, although it only has one space battle.

Good scifi movies that aren't around fighting aliens or some kind of monster. Movies like 2001, 2010, and Moon. And maybe even like Sunshine.

Is here anyone from Finland who knows any good movies that go in the cinemas? I have a hard time to choose a good movie.. If youre not from Finland, just suggest me as many movies that go in the cinemas as possible(not The Hobbit jesus christ Im gonna go watch it eventually). I mostly like animated films, but films that are overall good will probably go fine. Movies with action, good plot, humor and good characters are what gets my attention. Romantic or some ''fascinating'' movies are kinda ehh, so leave those :v:
