Here's a list for all the Best Picture Winners and Nominees for the Academy Awards. I know that mostly covers American cinema and it still misses out on brilliant films that never received nominations, but it's a good place to start looking.
Replace 1981, 1987, and 1992 with the Evil Dead trilogy and you've got yourself a pretty solid list.
Maybe not 1992, because we'd then displace Unforgiven.

AFI's 100 years... 100 movies is a pretty great list, with a lot of classics in there. Again, like all lists it skews towards older classics, but not nearly as bad as some of the other "Official" lists. After that, go through the IMDB top 250 and watch any ones you haven't seen yet.
Also Empire's lists are well done as well.
Also Empire's lists are well done as well.
Depends on which one youre talking about, there was a 301 best movies, which was a reader poll, that had Citizen Kane at 31 and Inception at 10.
everyone knows ED2 is the best of the trilogy
It's hard for me to choose, since they're all so goddamn different in tone. Easily a tie between 2 and Army for me, though I love every one of the films (even the remake, which was pretty good).
By terror do you mean horror? Anyway, I'll just throw a bunch of movies that I like at you. You might have seen most of these, and if you have, sorry. Repo Man Die Hard Memento The Game The French connection To Live and Die in LA Goodfellas Taxi Driver The King of Comedy Prisoners Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Blade Runner Black Rain Thief Drive Heat Collateral The Darjeeling Limited The Royal Tenenbaums Rushmore The Grand Budapest Hotel Bullitt Scarface The Departed The Avengers Serenity Iron Man Jaws Watchmen North by Northwest Gladiator Troy Braveheart The Duellists Kingdom of Heaven Chinatown LA Confidential Zodiac Fight Club The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo The Social Network Se7en Apocalypse Now Redux GoldenEye Casino Royale The Spy Who Loved Me Star Wars Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Star Trek (remake) Star Trek Into Darkness
I'm in the mood for something feel-good, like Groundhog Day or It's Kind Of A Funny Story. Any genre and year works for me, although I always find I prefer more modern films.
The Royal Tenenbaums The Darjeeling Limited (500) Days of Summer
