Scariest film out there?
Something similar to Drive but more of a focus on the driving aspect of it, nothing too flashy.
[editline]27th December 2012[/editline]
Or films about professionals of obscure jobs like the guy in Drive.
Transporter or Transporter 2 might do the trick.
Collateral maybe?

That and Thief (1981)
I want a movie with awesome special effects that are not CGI. I just love the effects for The Thing and Hellraiser.
If you are into gore and horror movie:
BrainDead
Bad Taste
Night of the living Dead (1980 version)
Evil Dead 2 and 3
Would any of you recommend Videodrome or Scanners?
Or anything else from David Cronenberg, really? He seems like an interesting fellow.

Those two plus A History of Violence and Eastern Promises
Hello guys, could you recommend some movies similar to The White Ribbon, Wild Strawberries and Winter Light?
I want some dark, sad movies with long takes and stuff like that. I mean real depressing shit like Winter Light with dialogues as strong as they were in Wild Strawberries and darkness of The White Ribbon.
Anyone?
Does anyone know a good movie, set in the medieval time period, or a fantasy equivalent?

Oh BOY, might want to narrow that down a little. Comedy, serious, what?

Serious, I suppose. Action, drama, whatever.

Noroi: The Curse
Those two plus A History of Violence and Eastern Promises
I've decided to seek the two I mentioned, and I'll keep what you recommended in mind.
Somewhat related, anything good with body horror? I'm fucked up and find the subject to be fascinating.
I guess it probably started with Akira, which is now my favorite movie. I'm pretty sure I've already mentioned it in this thread.
Anyway, if you like science fiction and/or animation, and you haven't seen it, go fucking see it. It's beautiful, and the animation was excellent for it's time. Yes, it's anime. No, it's not kawaii~

Anyone?
Those are some very subtle story films so thats a hard one. Lars Von Triers stuff isn't similar but doesn't deliver a story right in your face like mainstream cinema, sometimes the point of his films are not so obvious. Melancholia was a great piece of work. A Phophet might be more to your taste from French cinema. I'm also hearing great things about Rust and bone with Marion Cottilard.
I saw Funny Games US a while ago. It really fuckin fucked my mind, and wondered if there's anything similar out there?
Anything like Silent Running? Just finished watching it and I was amazed

Seen it but thanks
I need something that tells a story through character development but dosen't force it upon the viewer.
