not specific on era or year it was made, just something dealing with similar things.

Does anyone know of any good movies where the main character travels over a large distance?
Kind of like Into the wild and The go-getter. Preferably set in modern times.

Eureka (it's Japanese and really great)
About Schmidt (jack nicholson is great here)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
The Darjeeling Limited
haven't seen but meaning to see: The World's Fastest Indian, Wild at Heart.
If any of these look like something you're after, go for it.

Rain Man
Anyone able to help explain the ending of The Fog, recently re watched it, didn't quite understand the end.
Any movies where the protagonist is just a normal human and then ends up building an empire? I know anime is not a good example but kinda like Gurrenn Lagann, where Simon is just a kid and then he proceeds to almost rule the world.

The Godfather Part II, partly. It's mostly the intercut scenes where you see young Vito Corleone's rise to power in the early 1900s.
Anyone got any good movies that follow the same kind of line as Fight Club?

Memento I felt had a similar feel, and just as good a twist.
One of the best films I've ever seen.
Memento is next on my list of movies to watch, Snatch afterwards.
What to you mean by the same line as Fight Club?

Same sort of style? Twists?

Call of Cthuhlu :D
But for real... any supernatural mystery films usually turn into that.

Any recommendations for a good movie to watch with my GF? She's not terribly movie literate which I guess helps.

Watch Never Let Me Go.
Even though I haven't seen it myself, my sis saw it with her partner and they both really loved it.
Recently I've been watching a few movies with kid protagonists. It's just something enterely different, their whole characters are way more interesting than those of adults. Like Pan's Labyrinth, loved that one.
So, any cool movies with kid protagonists/movies which are similiar to Pan's Laybrinth?
Just saw super and loved it, anything similar you can recommend? I loved the ultra violent aspect of it mostly

What are some other movies like Vantage Point? It plays with time, rewinding to show different angles of the same event and revealing something new each time. It's kind of like Rashomon, but VP is more objective whereas Rashomon-esque movies change based on who's telling the story.

If you want a heavy movie with kids, take a look at Mean Creek.
