Fuck, I just heared the art class I wanted to follow isn't going to continue because there aren't enough people wanting to do it.
Was really excited for it because I hoped that would motivate me more to start drawing... Might not be able to do that Game Artist education after all.
Just fucked up a digipainting very, very horribly. Didn't notice it after it was done.

... how is she holding the knife?
exacly.
Hmmm...
The hands!
AHHH!
THE HANDS!
NOOOOO!
Remember to add some warmth tones to your skin, 3v3. Sometimes your characters look a little bit dead.
Might be cause I use pictures from my porn folder for reference.

öI dind't even make it to the hands. I did the face, took a step back went "OHGOD" and altf4.
But happens to everyone once in a while.
You draw a dead nazi chick and see how bad it is.
Right?
I've dumped so many projects recently, haha~
I didn't even make this one to the face:

Just something that is wrong and I simply cannot pinpoint, even after a week or two lol

To start with, her right thigh is way shorter than the left
we've been over it alot of time. this is not the thread for crits.
Sorry, just wanted to help, as he said that he couldn't point out the problem.

Colorful panties and bra (and just the fact that she wears that)
Extreme orange skin tone with burn tool like shading and bleak unfitting teal highlights.
I think it's a swimsuit and the skintones are always like that before you get the real shading done.
Highlights are correct cause the lightsource might be blue.
I basically gave up detailing the shading after I messed up the anatomy.
Lighting and shading was just there so that I could see where the light is coming from.
and yep, that's a swimsuit.
I think that's a really pretty start!
I thinking of writing a Flash tutorial on the basics and some secret techniques to make animation look good (not really secret).
Does anyone think its a good idea?
Highlights are correct cause the lightsource might be blue.
Yeah, and I said the colour was unfitting. Blue and orange is a normal colour contrasts, but it looked gross.
it looks gross cause it's the first tone to be put on the skin blocking.
Impossible ot make somehting that looks incredebly sexy at every point of its creation.
Tbh the starting midtone for the skin is horrible though. Should start with something far less saturated. She looks like she's been hitting the sunbeds too much... or worse, applying fake-tan.
so I was looking for some good examples of D7000 shots on flickr, set it to 'most interesting' and this came up:

along with fifty other horrifying HDR shots. What the fuck are people thinking, and WHY are all the comments praising this "HDR" style? It ruins the picture and negates having such a nice camera

:barf:
People like it because it's obviously not the normal. It has enough 'oomf' to catch people's attention, where it leaves us puking because we have sensitive taste.
It's like how little kids love horridly obnoxious hot wheels, but grown men wank over rather modest looking cars.
I've got a little alcohol in my system, sorry.
sounds about right, and I understand your point. Normal point-and-clickers may find it wild and unique, like a crazy painting when all they're used to is crayons, but to those who know what it's supposed to be think it's like using crayons instead of proper painting tools
I can't remember who, but I remember that there's one artist, or there was one artist who colored planets and stuff like that with crayons. She went on about the awesome quality of the waxy texture and she was selling very small pieces, like around 18 x 24 from what I recall, for several hundred dollars.
yeh, I meant the crayon reference more like a kid's crayon drawing rather than a proper artist using them, but as I've said before any tool can produce the art so long as the person behind the tool can.
Oh, yeah, I know. I just really hate crayons, haha. And that's only to a certain extent, about any tool producing art. I'm often infuriated when school teachers give children horrible paint supplies that you can't really work with, and then the children get frustrated and lose their interest in art/say they can't do it.
A part of art is manipulating whatever you have to match your 'vision'.
My turn to start a rant :)
I hate when people do the black swan makeup and take pictures of themselves. It's twice as bad when it's a makeup artist - I can respect makeup as an art form and I also respect learning through mimicking, but they're trying to cash in on the artistic success of an already existing entity: the movie itself. It's one thing to reproduce a piece of art to get an understanding and develop influences, but to tout it as a finished piece is lazy. It's worse when the person tries to act as if they're 'artistic' because of it.
I don't like pinning individuals, so I won't provide examples, but go on flickr, search 'black swan makeup' then hit interesting. You'll see what I'm talking about.
