What's your guys opinion on graffiti? Is it art or vandalism? Does it make a difference whether they're just tags or stencils or dubs?

Grafitti is art.
Tagging is vandalism.
With the one you draw, with the other you just write shit on a wall.
But grafitti can also be artistic vandalism of course. Spray on a wall you aren't allowed to spray on and it's obviously vandalism, no matter how beautiful it is.
Tagging can be art as well.

What happens is that there is a difference between drawing and writing.
If you think you can't draw letters then you're wrong (hint: typography). If you think you can draw letters, then you're right and your question was dumb.

I categorize "hurr durr I'll write some shit on this wall" and "Hurr durr! I'll write some shit in a kewl way on this wall" as tagging/vandalism and then everything else that is actually drawn and has some more thought put into it is grafitti.
Well I'm somewhat of a "graffiti artist" and I'd say I far prefer doing tags than dubs or stencils.
Also I've worked ALOT on my tags, I have 4 sketchbooks all filled up dedicated to perfecting my brushscript font style.
So I'd agree with 3v3ryb0dy that tagging is most definitely an art form.
