What's wrong with my avatar?
It's just a screen clip of your art. Make something awesome for it.
[editline]18th February 2011[/editline]
And it looks grumpy :(
What's wrong with my avatar?
It's boring and "un-personal".
dgg has like the coolest avatar ever.
woooa
I like my avatar, it's simple

Yeah. It's simple. You need to go simpler. So simple that it becomes complex. Like, take a square. Then make it a triangle. But then make it a line. Then make it a 1D dot. Then make a whole world in that dot.
So simple.
sup guise. Toying with the idea of different mediums I want to invest in, on my birthday. I've been wanting some acrylic paints/loads of canvas' for a while (I'm a student; can't afford to fork over £30 for a pitiful amount of paint), but I just got the idea of getting a larger canvas (I've currently got a volito2 which is basically A5 - I really like using it but you don't really have enough control for me to feel like undertaking large projects). What is typically considered the 'normal' size for tablets and how much would that cost?
Drawing girls are boring.

Draw a woman is if she was a man. Personality wise. Just pose her like a man but draw her as a woman.
I didn't want to make a thread for this, but does FP know of a good site for a complete beginner to art, basically from the ground up tutorials?
the "earth" without "art" is just "eh".
I really hate Young enterprise.
Majority voted out any of the designs I actually liked...
Some of the reasons are fair enough but others make me cry.
(Huge image showing the "design process")

They didn't understand the idea of thumbnails..
Discussion over the designs was like
myself: I'd really like to make the title out of noodles- I think it would make our
cookbook look differ--
Business advisor: Who puts noodles on pea soup?!! That's disgusting, I wouldn't trust
a cookbook with noodles and green soup together on the cover!!!
In the end it looks pretty shit and I don't have any time left to work on it more.
The teacher supervising our group waves this other shitty looking cook book from some other
young enterprise group around like it's a gospel, trying to copy everything in it.
One of our "Managing directors" fancies herself as a hotshot artist and I shit you not- today she said:
" We should change the font to something more contemporary... like Comic Sans or.. Ariel! They look
much more current!!"
tl:dr Wahh wahh I got used as an art whore and my opinion matters fuck all waa
If the client or even the company you are working for doesn't understand the concept of thumbnails then there is a huge fuckin problem.
It is a cook book and a piece of commercial work. You shouldn't make things to be different then, you should make things to be attractive and make sense for the audience.
For example, the statement that "Who puts noodles in green pea soup" is a completely legit question for the design choice because it can give off a wrong impression of the recipes in the book, the colour combination wasn't all that pretty to look at either.
*Would write more but look at the time suddenly passing by, got to work*
It's all for charity in the end, so I'm not as pissed off as if they were making money off of it.
Though by golly I wish they cared about my opinion eve just a tiny little bit, but what can you do.

Well, if you are opinion is right then maybe they would. :v:

I still think the result looks shit, I might redesign it if I get a chance.
Any suggestions?

I like it, so no, not really.
Or well, I like the images, but the text is really out of place. Especially the back cover. You should just try to make the middle frame part of the design too, because it really doesn't match up well.
The rough font and elegant font contrast doesn't work, and the two fonts doesn't really fit the style of the illustrations.

Hopefully we'll all be happy now...
I Might change the fonts.. but later... I should have been working on my art project :v:
Garry has apparently moved CC to the Facepunch section of the forum list on the front page.
I have mixed feelings on this-
on one side, we're up where people can find us, hooray.
on the other, we went from being a full section to a single topical forum with subsections, it feels tiny.
I was talking before about moving MS Paint to being a subsection anyways, maybe it's for the better
[editline]1:11[/editline]
suddenly, it all went back to exactly the way it was.
I don't know if I like this...
I do like your avatar though. It puzzles the fuck out of me.
Oh god I thought CC was gone for a second... oh god.
I'm relieved.
This is horrible.
It feels really fucking weird

Eugh, why did you super brighten the colours? Now it's like a white canvas with less white coloured rectangles spread out on it un-systematically.
I preferred our section when It was less in the public's eye. :(
I feel like we are a gang of hipsters, and now our underground community is going mainstream.
it's kinda sad
I haven't noticed anything different apart from where we are on the main page.

What's sad is that you care.
How can you guys not like more exposure? It also means more artists will come and join us, making the community better. Sure, more artists will also mean more bad artists, though they usually weed themselves out leaving us with more and better artists than before.
