What's sad is that you care.
It's not sad in the way I'm crying into my pillow. I'm more worried about the inevitable flood of 5 second shit and people who'll rage over any criticism. [editline]24th February 2011[/editline]
How can you guys not like more exposure? It also means more artists will come and join us, making the community better. Sure, more artists will also mean more bad artists, though they usually weed themselves out leaving us with more and better artists than before.
There won't be many more serous artists joining this section as those who already were serious about art would have scrolled down and found it long ago.
I'd rather have 10 people joining where 5 of them are shitty than 2 people joining and one of them is shitty.
So would I, but I don;t think it's a 50:50 ratio between shitty and good. I still think anyone serious with art would have had the ability to scroll down the page and see CC before now.
A question to painters: Would inkjet ink work as paint/watercolor? (Ignoring the fact that it is expensive.)
There won't be many more serous artists joining this section as those who already were serious about art would have scrolled down and found it long ago.
And now it's easier for more serious artists to find this place and even people who might not take it serious just yet (but want to). Why are you so against it being easier for people to find this section (to both join in to post their own,and look at your art)? More people will look at a forum that's longer up on the forum list, because people are lazy like that.
I'm not so against it, more attention is good. And it is true about being higher up the page gives CC more attention just look at the number of people viewing, it was 100 a minute ago. Its good to see that more people are interested in art and a more active community is great. It's just in my opinion I doubt the quality of art will go up with it because as I've said; anyone who did art and was a member of facepunch would have already known about this section. The majority of extra viewers are just people from general and games coming to have a look.
I have to disagree, a few of the artists on the new collab didn't even know this section existed before and it was when I released the CD in general discussion that they learnt of this section. So that's one case of people not knowing about this section even if they are artistic.
Oh you meant music, kay. :buddy:
I don't remember how I found out about this section.
Oh you meant music, kay. :buddy:
Well I'm talking generally speaking, although I guess you're correct about the more conventional (digital, traditional and photography) mediums though. I mean, the first thing I did when I found this forum was to find this (and MS Paint) section.
I feel like we are a gang of hipsters, and now our underground community is going mainstream. it's kinda sad
fucking DA frontpage made me rage hard today.
fucking DA frontpage made me rage hard today.
Why are you looking at the DA frontpage and what was so bad about it today? I just bookmarked my DA page to avoid any hassle.
Fuck DA's frontpage. always the fucking same. Anime crap, pictures of wolves, photographies of notes saying "I love you", Furries, foxes oh god always foxes.
this time it's some decal produced by some decal company slapped onto an mac just as it was meant to. On other note, anyone know some art forums?
Conceptart.org is the top tier art forum. better doesn't exist [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] check out their avarage sketchbooks, man these guys are pro http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41
yeah all the 5 threads I've created there were blatantly ignored. some other forums, I'd love to get somethingawful membership, but not having a credit card has its minuses.
well you have to keep submitting art to eventually get noticed. My thread gets feedback :/ [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] I know people who just give up on conceptart because they don't get respons right away but just give it time it'll be worth it
I mean I bumped a thread for a week, not a single reply. Gon wait until I'm in arts uni(april or so) then give it a new try.
A week is not enough
in a huge forum like conceptart it is.
nooope [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] not for sketchbooks
then I guess I wasos wronges [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] anything intresting going on in this town?
I mean I bumped a thread for a week, not a single reply. Gon wait until I'm in arts uni(april or so) then give it a new try.
Have you critiqued others there? You can't expect to always get CC without giving, make yourself known around there so that people will bother spending time giving you CC.
What erryone busy with? I'm tailoring a duster and finishing an acrylic.
I just finished drawing a couple of icons for the cooking forum, I just hope they're good enough. Oh, and admiring my own avatar. Getting the pose right was damn tricky.
It looks nice but tad overdetailed for an avatar.
I need to get some nice prismacolors for my little notebook. I hate drawing in pencil all the time.
It looks nice but tad overdetailed for an avatar.
You think so? I went for some simplicity, and I changed it once again (look at avatar)
