I'm an autodidact. First offical art school is going to be whenever I get accepted into Estonian Arts Academy.
Same here. Well technically I took a few classes here and there but they were all shit and didn't help me at all in any way so they don't count. Except for that life drawing class I took that was taught by Burne Hogarth's son. He is the most awesome motherfucker on this spiral of the Milky Way. Started every class by telling you that you didn't go outside enough and that you were a pretentious fuck who needed a nice hit from the reality cudgel. Nice guy.
being autodidactic is a trait of most of the artists here on FP. Hell, if any of you have had the same misfortune as me, all the 'art' classes you took were 99% art history then a lesson or two related to color theory, then you paint a still life and get yelled at because it's not the same as the example.

Fuck em. Fuck their bowls, fuck their apples, and fuck their goddamn motherfucking pears. Fucking pears. I don't even like pears. I perfectly understand the point of a still life. I perfectly understand the need to learn how to look at things as shapes instead of symbols and look at values and all that fun arty shit, but the way it's taught is just fucking stupid, as if the point is to learn how to replicate instead of interpret. Fucking art classes wasting my goddamn time. Anyway, I drew this while we were talking. I suppose it's a work in progress, or whatever it is people say when they don't want their stuff to be judged too harshly.

Art history. Material studies. Then out of nowhere you have to draw a surreal environment. [editline]10th December 2010[/editline] To be honest, I can't wait to pick up my tablet. But at the moment I can't draw for shit. I can't even draw shit.

Every class I've taken, I've been told to do art the way the teacher likes. The teachers aren't artists so much as "Artists" (ar-TEEST), where they think they're the best there is and that art is to be done their way or the student fails.
oh. Usually when I draw from life I add random shit to it, like the skulls brainlid open and someone peeking out from there and add canine teeth or when I draw some prettty chick I tend to add wings or mutilate them to my liking.

You need a large palette of artists to steal- I mean draw inspiration from in order to keep your work fresh.
I love art history, it's goddamn intresting.

Guy also starts class by saying "All you want out of this class is to end up making something that looks better to you, and that's all I'm going to show you how to do." [editline]10th December 2010[/editline]
I love art history, it's goddamn intresting.
Hell yeah bro.
scorpio you studing arts, yes?
getting towards my photography classes, every one spent most of their time doing art history of photography, which all boiled down to this picture and a few others like the one with the guys on the I-beam every day I love the photo, but damn there's only so much I can take of hearing about it
Continuing my anatomy training now. Might need to get a better pencil.
scorpio you studing arts, yes?
If by "studying arts" you mean chilling in my room drawing shit waiting for my leg to heal up so I can go back to Ohio and work in a special effects shop as an intern, then yes.

If you have a good teacher it can be fun on a bun, if you've got a bad one you spend the class in a seething pool of rage trying to resist the urge to bash the pretentious fucks flapping goddamn face in before giving up on humanity and slinking back to your home in a state of apathetic depression. I go through around one every 3 days, so I need a constant influx of new pencils. Right now I've got some Derwent Graphics. They make good pencils.
My eraser isn't actual erasing, it's smudging. It seems I need to get a new everything.
I love you.
I try my best for my friends and neighbors.
I love you.
I agree You're the most king motherfucker to carry the name of a six-legger ever.
I got my ass handed to me in History of Photography this semester, fucking Daguerreotypes and shit. My last day is Monday, and we're going over nudes for the last 2 days. My Prof. put... Well... He pretty much put a rape picture in the slideshow which bothered quite a few people, it was a girl tripping on acid being taken advantage of by 2 dudes, never felt so awkward in class before.
layer 1 layer 5 layer 23 layer 77 layer 4 then I squint really hard at the thumbnails to figure out which is which
Oh hell yes. That's how we roll. As for music. Eh. I can often sit here for 4-9 hours without listening to anything then go "Oh, I don't have any music on". Then if I turn on some music I'll soon do something that causes me to pause it, like watching a video or playing a game. Then I pause the song and when I'm done watching the video or playing the game I usually forget to resume the song and forget about it again. If I'm going to do something that takes a long time I usually just put on an album for whatever I feel like listening to. Most preferably instrumental or alternative music.

Music is listening to this While in the hospital and high on morphine. Let me paint you a picture. You're in a hospital. Your leg in searing pain. You haven't moved from your bed in three days. There's an IV hooked up to your arm. A large woman of questionable origin has just delivered to you a plate covered in a suspicious yellow moldy substance they assure you is part of a grilled cheese. Your iPod then shuffles to this song. The morphine hits. You've forgotten you have a head. The man on Turner Classic Movies is talking to you. Then they start playing The Graduate. You are now covered in ants. And your leg still fucking hurts.
Few days ago there was some dude who put a big sign "IF THIS GETS 300 FAVORITES I'LL DO FREE COMISSIONS" I tought he must be okay to claim that and that to show up on first page. NOPE that was someone who does incredebly shit sonic fanart and has balls to ask money for it. and funny thing - he did get those 300 favorties. That's tenfold more than I have favorites on all my works I've ver made. The fiery, passionate hate that I have for them. The hope that if I become good and famous enough, then maybe one day the world won't mind if I track down one of those shits and brutaly murder it is what keeps me going. Also that jacobs awakening. God damn with a fever it does some weird things to you. It's awesome cause it was made for a royal family, in seventies. I tought nowardays composers never get to do it anymore!

I have too many razor blades around me to go to somewhere so depressing unprepared.
It's incredible fun to select some bad digital work and then brew a huge shitstorm by doing what I usually do. All their internet boyfriends suddenly show up.
I gave up on my deviantart account, the people there are all creepers. Every day I get messages about people who favorite my renders of Tali, who have fucking SHRINES to her. Creepy as fuck.
Devart is suprisingly okay if you keep away from sonic, twilight, avatar, most of the games ever made, furry, animorphistic that people confuse for furry, photography and anime.
Only place in Deviantart I actually visited. http://browse.deviantart.com/digitalart/paintings/landscapes/
